Background of Alanas story
ALANA
"Alana, please get your things together we can't afford to miss this flight" my mom announced once again
"We can't afford anything remember? You can stop reminding me" I said to myself. My mom and I were having slit issues. We're getting kicked out of our apartment building because someone complained about us being suspicious, rude, and reckless. She had a part time job but got fired for stealing things and bringing it back home. Earlier in the day she told me that some how her old friend Joyce found her online and immediately wanted to get to know each other again. Her son Chris was my everything. We done everything together and when I found out they were moving my heart was crushed. All of us were like a family. They always had more money than us but they never treated us any different. I don't know how my mom and Ms. Joyce met but I'm glad they did. Not to mention once they left we hit rock bottom. We were back to being nobody's and it was horrible. I currently have a boyfriend and his name is James. It sucks that I have to leave him, but I swear I'll find a way to get back to him. Plus I want to get to know Chris again. I cant have them two being around each other. I know once we get there my mom is going to try and get into Joyce's head and tell her why we need to stay with them but that's after we've been there for a little while. Me on the other hand I'm gonna try to get Chris to fall for me again. I know all of this is wrong but they're all we got. I wasn't too surprised when my mom told me Joyce brought both our flight tickets. They've always had lots of money and I could tell my mom was jealous. I was too young to understand cause' I had my eyes on Chris and nothing more. I just hope they don't find out what we've planned. I'm gonna have to think of something real hard to make sure we get to stay and live with them for as long as possible.

Present Day
CHRIS
"What so I'm wrong for suspecting something was up with her!?" Avery yelled out
"You both basically kidnapped her!This isn't your battle to fight. We could have handled it ourselves!" I yelled back
"Could you all stop!? It's not good for the baby" Ms Julie held onto Alana
"Alana can speak for herself" Avery rolled her eyes
"I can do what I want! I know what's best for my daughter!" Julie yelled
"You had no right to bring this young man into this!" My mom yelled referring to Tyga who was looking clueless the whole time
"Could you all just stop, please!?" Alana raises her voice over everyone. A single tear came from the corner of her eye
"Alana, you don't have to-"
"No, mom I need to do this. I'm tired of living a lie" she said moving away from her mother. At this point everyone was confused
"What is she talking about?" My mom asked
"Everything Avery said was the truth." She said through sobs. "I never meant to hurt anyone and I'm sorry" she admits
"Alana, please just-"
"Stop, mom! They deserve to know the truth" she yelled
"I think I should just leave now" Tyga announced
"No,wait" Avery gripped his arm. I clenched my jaw
"I'm pregnant and it's not Chris'" she said having more tears appear. Of course I was happy! I already knew that I'm just glad she finally told the truth.This girl tried to sabotage my entire life!
"Alana, you don't have to make up lies because you're scared. It's okay to be" my mom comforts her
"No, Ms. Joyce you don't understand." She shakes her head. "James is the father of my child"
"James? I thought he was back at home?" Her mom whispered but we could all hear
"Who is James?" My mom asked. I was actually curious myself
"He's my boyfriend." She said
"Ha, I knew you where a hoe and because of you, you broke up a great relationship with me and Chris! You fucking slutty ass bitch!" Avery charged at her but Tyga pulled her back. Her face turned bright red. They disappear in view but she still was yelling out cruel words.This is way too much. I wish I seen all this coming.
"Joyce, she's just going through a lot. She doesn't know what she's talking about right now" Julie try's to kiss up to my mom, but luckily she's too smart for that
"Julie, I trusted you. I trusted it both of you and this is how you repay me!? You made me turn against my own son!"
"Mom, it's not your fault" I assured
"It is Chris. And I was just stupid enough to let them in our lives" she sighs
"Joyce, I was gonna tell you but-"
"Pack your bags tonight. You both leave in the morning" she said walking away. I stood there silent and looked at the both of them. Julie looks over at me with her mouth covered. Then headed upstairs. I knew she knew all along. She just tried to pretend like she didn't. Alana was still crying a lot and I can't believe I'm saying this but I actually felt bad for her right now. I know she basically tried to ruin both my mom and my life but seeing someone cry right in front of me is never easy
"Go a head and say it. I don't even care" Alana shrugs her shoulders as she continued standing there and cried
"Say what?"
"Chris, don't play dumb. You know you wanna call me out my name. This whole time you've wanted too so what's holding you back?" She says clearing her throat
"I would do it, but what's the point? I just wanna know why?" I spoke
"Why what? That I tried so hard to ruin your happiness!?" She shouts looking me dead in the face
"Yes. Why'd you lie and say that I got you pregnant? Why try to get with me knowing you had a boyfriend? That's really foul. Once my mom first told me that you guys were coming I was so excited. Alana you were my best friend and yeah maybe my first love. I wanted to be with you for the rest of my life but we were young. Now that we are older I thought you could see that I moved on from loving you and had a whole different life. I just ask why you cause all this pain towards me?"
"Because you guys have everything! You and your mom was always better than me and my mom. Y'all have more money, a nice home, family, someone who cares for you, everything! I try my hardest to please my mother because all we have is each other. She could never afford anything for me and once you two came into our lives things got better. Then when y'all left it was like how it has always been in our life. Having nothing. Lying and saying that I was pregnant with your child was going to keep me and mom in a safe home with people we knew we could trust and be with for forever" she looks down at the ground and shake her head. I sigh
"How long have you actually been pregnant then?" I asked
"Four weeks. I found out once we got here and knew that would be a perfect way to ruin your life"
"Wow. Does the father even know?"
"No, but I plan on telling him soon." She softly answered
"Why not now? You said it's been four weeks and he's in town.You too were together all night. Don't you think he deserves to know?"
"Why are you worried about it!? You have better things to do then worry about me" she snaps leaving the living room to go upstairs. That's why she was so moody all the time. Micheal and Avery appear from the corner at the same time as my mom came out the kitchen. Avery looked calmed down and Ty still looked speechless
"Look man, I didn't come to cause any problems I just wanted to help" he said to me
"It's cool" I chuckle as we dap up
"I'm sorry for yelling at you Avery" I apologized looking over at her
"So am I. I was just caught up in the moment" my mom spoke from beside me
"It's fine. You both had every right to yell at me. I came uninvited to your home and brought someone with me let alone trying to prove myself. I was wrong and I take full responsibility for it" she says. I can't help but leave the room. The more I look at her the more it reminds me of how she broke up with me. Today have been another bad day and I don't think my heart is fit for all of it. David couldn't even be here since he works day and night and only get a short amount of time off even though he's the boss. I needed inspiration.

AVERY
He still hates me. He doesn't want anything to do with me but pretend to accept my apologies. Yesterday was a very emotional day just like the others. I'm glad I got to prove my cast that Alana was messing around or so called have a baby and know that it isn't Chris'. If only I believed him. If only I wasn't so selfish and actually thought it through. I know it's no way he'll want to get back with me after what I did. It's going to be hard to accept but I'll manage.
I walked out of my room and headed downstairs with my bag on my back. My mom was at the stove cooking breakfast as usual.
"Good morning" I spoke sitting down in a chair. I looked down at my phone to see a text message on the screen.
"GM :)" it read from an unknown number. I just deleted the text and placed my phone faced down
"Morning" she responded keeping her back towards me. I guess you can say we weren't really talking to each other at the moment. I didn't tell her about where I went yesterday or what happened. I don't want her to say told you so or you should've listened. My mom was the last person I could really have an heart to heart with. I haven't spoken to my dad yet and I hope he's doing better. Getting a new job should really help him focus and not think about the divorce.
"Uh, Avery, there's something you and I need to talk about" she spoke placing food on my plate.
"I spoke with your father and we decided that it would be great if you spent more time with him than for a few hours"
"So what, like live with him?" I asked
"No, you could just spend the night over his place for the weekends"
"Oh, that's fine" I shrug
"Well quickly eat your food. You don't wanna be late" she got up and started cleaning the dishes.

CHRIS
"Cali, I said I was sorry. What else do you want me to say?"
"I wanna know why you're talking to me? Everyone is watching and might make fun of you" she said putting her hair behind her ear then looking up at me
"I don't care what they think. It was wrong for me to not show up and I feel bad. I had family issues at home and-"
"That's why you didn't want to work on the project at your house?" She asked
"Pretty much" I shrug
"Chris, you could have just told me and I would have understood" she closed her locker and walked ahead of me. I walked in the opposite direction watching as Jasmine came running towards me
"Chris, You need to go out front! Ty needs help!" She panicked as she yanked onto my arm
"Hold on. What's wrong!?" I stopped her
"This guy is threatening him and wants to fight him" she said as her eyes got watery. I ran down the hall and bursted through the double doors. There was a whole crowd of students surrounding Tyga and the guy.
"Yo who the hell is this dude!?" I got through the crowd and made my way to Ty
"I have no idea, but I'm bout to beat his ass. He don't even know me!" He yelled pulling off his jacket. The other dude took off his shirt
"You the one who drove away with some girl with my chick in the car!" The guy yelled
"Wait, is your name James?" I looked over at him
"Who the hell are you?" He looked me up and down
"You know this nigga?" Ty asked
"Nah, but I think he's Alanas boyfriend"
"Fuck him. He just tried to come at me yo!" Ty tried pushing pass me
"Alight everyone get to class!" The officers yelled as everyone scattered. James quickly ran to his car and drove off. There was no need for me or Tyga to run. We knew we were gonna get in trouble

"What were you two thinking!? You know getting in a fight would have gotten you two suspended" Mr. Don yelled at us. We had to go to his office after the whole incident.
"Micheal, you said you didn't know this guy. Then why would he possibly want to fight you. You know if he got caught on school ground there would be some major consequences"
"I don't give a fuck about him! All I know is he tried to fight me and once school over I'm finding him and y'all can't do shit to stop me" Ty spoke with an attitude while getting out of the chair
"Yo chill out we gon' handle this together" I reassured him
"I can suspend you for talking like that!"
"Bye!" Tyga walked out his office and slammed the door behind him
"Could you just let me talk to him?" I asked
"Fine, but he better change his attitude fast. I can't have students here who wants to do violence" he said. I nodded my head then rushed out the door to catch up with him but I bumped into someone on the way
"I'm so sorry" I apologized while helping the girl off the floor
"It's okay" she said looking up at me and it was Avery. She wiped off her clothes then picked her things up off the floor.
"Hey" she smiled
"Hi" I responded. We both awkwardly stood there staring at each other
"Um, I've been meaning to talk to you about something" she says
"Can it wait? I'm kinda in the middle of something right now. I'm sure it's nothing important right?" I asked
"Nope. I guess you're free to go" she nervously laughs. I jog down the hallway to catch up with him

AVERY
"Mom says you got a new job. Is that true?" I ask my dad looking over at him. He picked me up from my house because I would be staying over his house for the weekend. I already packed an overnight bag so I was good.
"Yes, and guess where it is. Our favorite spot where we get milkshakes" he smiled
"Seriously? I'm even more happier now! I could get milkshakes everyday OMG" I said sliding down my seat
"Oh no, don't get too excited. You need a job as well and luckily I got you an application" he said reaching into the glove department and pulled out some papers.
"Here look through these. It should be in there" he says giving his attention back to the road.
"I'm actually looking forward to this job. I have too much things going on right now and if working is my only option to get over it then I'm fine with it" I shrug
"Maybe you should have Chris sign up too. You know so he could drive you home if you guys work the same hours." He suggested. I haven't told my dad anything yet and I'm terrified too. He just starting liking Chris and if I told him that we broke up for something that was basically my fault he wouldn't be happy.
"I doubt if he would want to work with me. He probably wants to work somewhere else anyway" I said
"Just ask Avery, or I will"
"Fine." I said rolling my eye
"What do you want to eat for dinner? We're gonna eat out since it's getting late"
"It doesn't matter" I turned my head and stared out the window

"This is your place?" I asked as I walked through the front door
"Yep. It's not much, but I'm the only one who's living here at the moment but I'll work on getting another place so you could have a room" he said taking off his shoes at the door. It was a little apartment building where we were staying and honestly I was somewhat uncomfortable
"Uh dad, could I sleep in your room tonight? You know girls need their privacy" I showed him my puppy dog eyes
"Fine, but only for tonight. My back is gonna kill me on this couch and I have work tomorrow, but since you're my sweet little girl I guess I can sleep here tonight" he said walking over to me then kissing my forehead
"Good night, dad" I said before closing his bedroom door. I threw all my things on the floor then jumped in bed. I was too tired to do anything else but sleep. I'm definitely gonna have to get use to this place

"Good morning!" My dad spoke really loud as he entered the room
"I could have sworn it was a Saturday" I spoke with the pillow covering my face
"It is but I brought you something" as soon as he said that I raised up so fast. He wasn't holding anything but a name tag in his arm and a uniform
"Where's my gift? All I see is a name tag and uniform" I frowned
"Exactly, these are for you. You start working today" he handed the things to me
"How? I didn't even turn in my application yet?" I asked confused
"Already taken care of. I went by this morning and gave it to them. They already knew who you are so they gave you the Job right away. Plus we need all the help we can get so start getting ready cause you start in two hours" he left the room and left me looking crazy. I was definitely not expecting to work today. I sighed heavily then fell back on the bed.

CHRIS
"Chris, what are you doing here?" Cali asked as I walked into her house.
"We need to work on our project don't we?" I said gripping my straps on my book bag
"Yes, but I'm sorta babysitting right now" she said very lowly. "My parents won't be here for a while"
"That's cool. I'm sure it's just a baby or something. Nice home by the way" I looked around a little more until I found the kitchen table. We sat at it until we heard a loud noise coming from upstairs
"What was that?" I looked at her nervously
"It's fine it's just-
"Cali, Caleb won't give me my truck back!" A little boy came running in the kitchen
"No, I had it first!" Another little boy came in next with the truck. They were twins
"Uh un, that's my toy yours is orange!" Other little boy came running in with the orange truck. They were triplets!
"Yo this is dope" I smiled extra hard
"You've never seen triplets before?" She chuckles. "They're all annoying" she rolls her eyes
"Who's he sissy?" One of the little guys walked over to me and pointed. All heads turned to me so I answered.
"My name is Chris. What's your name?" I asked
"My name is Calvin. I can spell it too C-a-l-v-i-n" he crossed his arms then put the peace sign up
"Good job Calvin" I raised my hand out so we could high five
"Hey, I can spell my name too" one of the other boys announced
"So can I" the other boy followed as they came over to me
"Okay guys I'm sure Chris is a little too overwhelmed he's never seen triplets. Now give him some space" Cali said to them
"Okaaay, but my name is Carl. Nice to meet you sir" he held out his hand to shake mine. I chuckled
"Nice too meet you too"
"Alright move out the way it's my turn" the last kid said pushing his brother out the way
"My name is Caleb, and I'm stronger than you. See" he lifted up his sleeve then flexed his muscles
"Oh my, please don't hit me" I put my hands up in surrender. He growled at me which was weird then he ran off with his other two brothers
"Well that was something. How old are they?" I said looking over at Cali. She was staring at me
"What?"
"Nothing, your just really great with kids" she smiles. "And they're six"
"Oh well, you know some day I'll be a great father" I brushed off my shoulders. She laughs
"Well let me grab my things so we can work on this assignment" she got up from her chair and Wales out the kitchen. I took out some things from my bag and put them on the table

"Hello, we're home!" Who I'm guessing was her parents that arrived. Cali and I got up from the table as I grabbed all my belongings then followed Cali
"Mommy! Daddy!" The little guys all came running down the steps. Falling over each other
"Hey buddies" the dad said as they all hugged him
"Oh, Cali who's this?" Her mother asked. I looked over at Cali and she started to blush a little
"This is my partner, Chris" she says
"Yeah that's her boyfriend" one of the three musketeers said while sticking their tongue out
"Boyfriend?" Her father said looking over at me
"No sir. We're just friends." I reassured
"Nice to meet you, Chris" her mother shook my hand
"Yes, welcome" her father says. "Make yourself at home" they all started walking away
"Oh wait! I was wondering if I could take your daughter out" I said
"Chris, what are you doing?" Cali pulls my arm
"What like on a date?" He asked
"No, just getting her out of the house. She had to babysit her brothers all day. I think she deserves it."
"Cali, are you okay with this?" Her mother asked
"Sure..I guess" she sounded a bit skeptical
"Well have fun. Bring my child back in one piece, please" I smiled as I opened the door for Cali and let her walk out first
"Chris, you don't have to be nice to me" she said as I opened the door to my Lambo
"I know, but I want too" I went over to my side and got in. I started the car then backed out the driveway
"Where are you taking me?" She asked
"To get some milkshakes. It's one of my favorite spots to go to" I answered
"Why do you even want to be seen with me in public?"
"Why not? Your acting like your a bad person or something. You're far from that" I glared over at her to see her cheeks lighting up as she looked away
"I know your favorite kind is strawberry" I smirked
"How did you know that?" She looks over at me
"Well I've noticed you wear pick a lot so I just assumed, but I guess I was right either way" I shrug. I could tell she started to smile from the corner of my eye

AVERY
"Dad, I thought this was supposed to be fun"
"It is fun. Don't you love making milkshakes?"
"Yeah, but I can't even eat it or serve anyone" I rolled my eyes
"Honey, it's your first day. I'm not sure your ready for all that" he said grabbing a cup and pouring in the milkshake
"How would you know?" Just let me try, please?" I poked my lip out at him and he sighs
"Fine. Take those two who just walked in order and if you handle that well we'll see where you go from there" he said I cheesed really hard as I grabbed a pen and pad then made my way over to the customers
"Hey, I'm your waitress Avery and I'll be serving you today" I said as I looked up and noticed that it was Chris and the girl Cali from school
"Hey , Avery. I didn't know you work here" Chris spoke
"Oh, hi Avery we-"
"Have the same class together. Yeah I know. What would you like to order?" I asked keeping my eyes on the notepad
"I would like a strawberry milkshake, please" Cali says. I wrote down her order then walked away
"Wait, Avery you didn't take my order" Chris said
"I already know what you want. You get the same thing all the time"
"Maybe I wanna get something different" he raises his eyebrow
"Oh, really? What could you possibly want?" I said putting my hand on my right hip
"Strawberry" he said then smiled at Cali and she smiled back. I bit my lip as I turned around to put in there orders. I didn't think Chris would move on that fast. I rushed to the back as I fast as I could
"I hate this job! I wanna quit" I said trying to hold back my tears but a little came out
"Did she just say she wants to quite?" One of the employees said
"No, let me talk to her" he grabs me then takes me to a spot where no one was
"Avery, what happened? Why are you crying?" He asks. I quickly wiped my tears before he finds out that Chris is on a date with someone other than me
"I'm just happy I get to work with you" I hugged him tightly then he hugged back
"But you said you wanted to quit-
"Order up!" Someone yelled
"Gotta go" I left him and grabbed both the strawberry milkshakes. I slowly walk over to the table because I didn't want to drop them. That would give my dad a reason for me of not being ready
"Here's your milkshake" I placed them both on the table
"Thanks" she said looking up at me. She was a very pretty girl. And sweet. I couldn't even say she was ugly cause she wasn't. Chris wasn't at the table which means he probably went to the bathroom or something
"You're welcome. Enjoy" I said before walking away but Cali stopped me
"Wait Avery, can I ask you something?" She says
"Sure"
"Um, I don't wanna make you feel uncomfortable or anything, but do you still have feelings for Chris? I mean only if you don't mind me asking" she slightly smiled. Why did I see this coming
"No, it's fine. I don't have feelings for Chris anymore" I lied. "Why'd you ask?"
"Well because I kinda have a major crush on him, but I didn't want to say anything unless I knew you two were officially over and I don't want to get in between anything if you still have feelings for him" she explained
"Oh, well he's all yours. I hope it works out for you" I put up a fake smile then turned around
"Wait, could you give me some advice?" I turned back around and immediately looked her in the eyes. They were so pretty with her perfect skin and hair there was no way Chris wouldn't like her.
"I'm not really good at this, but if you really want Chris to like you, you have to be yourself. Don't try to be like someone your not cause he has a thing for personalities and try not to worry about what others think of you. He can't stand when someone worries about what he say she say. I really think you have a chance with him" I smiled. My stomach sorta dropped as I told her everything. I used to be the perfect girl for him and now it was all gone
"Thank you so much" she got up and pulled me in for a hug. "You're ready a nice person" she says as I walk back to where I belonged. It might really be over for me...
