After an hour I finally went back inside but stopped when everybody was sitting at the table with sad faces
“what happened?” sam stood next to me with a hand on my shoulder
“something happened to luke. He went upstairs to his room and hasn’t came out since and someone we had check on him said he was cutting himself” I was shocked but masked my emotion and shrugged my shoulders
“not my problem” frank stood up growling
“you can do something though, you’re the only one he’s going to listen to” I glared at him
“if he wants to be stupid, let him. Im not gunna stop him even if I wanted too” sam looked at me disappointed
“I never thought you could turn into a heartless bitch eva. wouldn’t you want someone to stop you when you were cutting?” I sighed and looked up at him
“im not a heartless bitch but I hated it every time in the past that shawn stopped me. I resented him for months until I finally came to the conclusion that he was helping me not trying to hurt me. And luke deserves the pain he’s in because its only been a couple days since he was rejected by me and I had to live with that for 4 fucking years and counting” I started walking away when frank pulled my arm stopping me
“please eva, I havent ever seen him this depressed at least do something or try to do something about it” I was getting frustrated
“fine I’ll get him to stop but that’s it. If your hoping I’ll except him anytime soon your sadly mistaken” I handed the kids to troy and sam then walked upstairs to lukes room. His door was locked and he wasn’t answering to me so I stood back and kicked his door in. he shot up and looked at me
“what the hell do you want eva, are you here to rub it in that you don’t want me?” I sat on his bed and sighed
“no luke that’s not why im here” he glared and sat on his computer chair across the room
“then why are you here?” I looked up at him and slightly smiled
“I may not want to accept you now but that doesn’t mean I don’t care for you and I want you hurt.” he looked surprised
“so what your saying is you care for me?” I sighed out of frustration
“yes luke that’s what im saying. I care for you and I don’t want you hurt” he smiled and sat next to me on the bed
“if you care for me then why wont you except me?” I hate situations like this
“do you really want to know? And if I tell you, you cant be an ass and act immature and no more fucking cutting” he smiled and nodded his head
“when I first found out you were my mate I was excited but then you rejected me and it was the worst kind of pain I have ever felt” his smile faded and he looked kind of guilty
“I tried anything to get that pain away but everything I tried never worked until I found this root that would allow me to cut without healing so I put it on my blade and I kept cutting because when my blood flowed it felt as if the tightness in my chest was loosening. Then when I was training it helped too but when I was kidnapped I thought it would hurt worse than the pain you caused. In reality nothing that has ever happened to me compared to the pain you caused because as you use to say I was a fat, ugly, pathetic excuse of an alpha. I learned to get over you but then I come back and you want me because I don’t look the same anymore, and don’t say it isn’t true because if I was still that girl back then you wouldn’t want me like you do now” he looked torn
“I would have still wanted you eva, when they said you left I was crushed especially knowing im the one that forced you to leave. I want you back now just like I wanted you back 4 years ago. I had people looking for you every second of every day but once you left it was like you vanished off of the face of the earth. I would do anything for you to just give me a chance” my heart was saying to trust him and he wouldn’t hurt me but the logic part of my brain was saying it was a bad idea.
“luke I wish I could accept you but I just cant. The main thing in a relationship is trust and honesty which we don’t have” he looked at me with pleading eyes
“please eva, please I’ll do anything for your trust” I stood up and started walking out but stopped at his door and looked back at him
“luke you have to earn my trust and show me that you can be honest before me and you could be anything. And right now you don’t even have a pinch of my trust” I walked out of his room and in the kitchen to troy
“I need the keys” he turned around fast and looked at me skeptically
“why where are you going?” I just shook my head and put my hand out for the keys
“I just have to leave so please just give me the damn keys or I’ll steal another damn car” he shook his head
“im not giving you the key. You cant keep running from your problems” I glared at him
“fine you should know that I don’t need keys to get a car” his eyes got wide but I walked off with amy and max. I walked outside to my car and busted the window, then I put the kids in their seats and hotwired the car. I drove all the way to the wolf housings which took a couple hours. The moment we got there elder pam was already outside waiting for us, she took the kids while I went upstairs and fell asleep instantly. I woke up the next morning to find tia staring at me
“creepy much?” she started laughing
“nope, but I did have information on my uncle” I sat straight up going into alpha mode
“what do you got?” she started to chuckle and shake her head
“no need to be so serious babe. And I found out he’s planning on going to glazer pack territory tomorrow morning at 10 sharp to claim what is rightfully his” I was getting frustrated so I started pacing
“why so fucking soon? What happened to next month?” she sighed and put her hand on my shoulder trying to calm me down
“its ok I know you can beat him again and then he wont bother you ever” I growled and looked at her
“but the problem there is that in order for me to beat him I need all my power” she looked confused
“I don’t get it. Why don’t you use it or zelta?” I sat on the floor with my knees to my chest and my back to the wall
“because we cant” her eyebrows furrowed “why?” I looked at her with tear filled eyes
“because we have to be mated with our mate or any mate first before we can use it but then our mate gets some of the power too and I don’t know anybody I trust enough other than troy to do it with” just then the door flew open and elder Derek and elder tom ran in with huge smiles on their faces
“WE HAVE A PLAN” I looked at them skeptically
“what kind of plan?” tom was literally jumping up and down with excitement
“well you can mate with troy than come here and we could un-mate you” wow they must be bonkers
“are you guys kidding me? That was a legend, a fairytale once you mate its for life and I don’t want to do that to luke or troys mate” Derek looked at me like I was a retard
“do you really think that we would bring it up if it didn’t work? We have already tried it with the mate-less wolves and it has worked every time” I stood up thinking about it. I bit my lip and looked at them
“well bring both luke and troy because I want to explain this to them” they all nodded and ran out leaving me to myself to think. About 3 hours later they showed up and charged into my room making me jump
“jeez guys you could have knocked” troy was gasping for breath
“well all we know is that one of the elders called saying something happened and you needed us ASAP” I started laughing and popped my head out of the door just in time to see Derek and tom trying to sneak away
“FREEZE” they stood stalk still and I walked in front of them
“why did you guys act like it was a bad thing that was happening?” Derek gulped at looked at tom then me
“well if you think about it, it is kind of a bad thing” I growled at him
“no its not as long as it goes according to plan its not. Now get before I make you do toilets and don’t come back upstairs until im done talking to them” I used a command knowing they couldn’t disobey me and I watched them run down the stairs at top speed. I walked into the room where the guys were and motioned for them to take a seat
“well I found out tony will be here tomorrow morning at 10. Normally it would be ok and I could deal with this but I cant unless I have my full power and in order to do this I have to mate with someone” they both looked at each other and luke started smiling
“so were gunna mate?” I shook my head at him
“not exactly. Im gunna mate with troy?” I said it more as a question and was watching both of them to gauge their reactions. Luke looked about ready to kill me and troy both
“but you’re my mate not his? Once you mate its for life and you only get one mate for your entire existent” I pulled his arm and made him sit next to me on the bed
“no its not. After the fight we come back here and they un-mate us” luke looked torn
“but I really don’t want you mated with him” I looked at him and troy who was still shocked that I even suggested it
“well its either troy or shawn” they both yelled at the same time
“SHAWN” I was confused
“why shawn?” troy looked embarrassed
“well if I mate with you I wont want to change it” now it was my turn to be shocked
“wow I didn’t know you felt that way about me” troy left to call shawn and I was still sitting next to luke who looked kind of pissed still
“are you ok with this luke?” he looked at me and I could see the hurt in his eyes
“not really but if it keeps you safe and your sure about this then Im ok with it” I smiled at him and put my hands on his face
“I just want you to know I really don’t want to hurt you. Even though a part of me does theres a bigger part that says no because your my mate and you always will be, but this is for the best and safest for everybody because troy and shawn have been trained in this type of stuff” he looked confused
“what do you mean they’ve been trained?” I sat with my back up against the head board
“troy and shawn are my royal guardians. They were both trained on how to control my powers and me along with zelta but shawn had more extreme training which is why he was able to give me blood and nobody else could. Shawn has a part of me in his heart literally” he looked shocked but smiled at me
“as long as I get you in the end” I smirked at him and patted his cheek
“what ever helps you sleep at night princess” he playfully glared at me then kissed my head and walked out as shawn walked in.
--Luke’s POV--
I kissed eva’s head then walked out passing shawn and I so wanted to kick his ass, but hurting him hurts eva and she needs him so we are all safe. I walked into the kitchen and bowed at the elders who were smirking. Elder pam smacked them in th head
“don’t let the privilege go to your head boys” then she turned to me smiling
“how are you doing luke?” I smiled sheepishly at her and sat down
“alright I guess I just wish it could be me mating with her and not shawn” she smiled but I could see the pity in her eyes
“I understand that but like these dimwits over here that power would go to your head and you wouldn’t be the same and I can guarantee that you would loose your pack and eva” I sighed and looked down at the table
“I know but it still doesn’t make it easy to know what their doing” she smiled then turned back to making dinner and I left to head home. I got to the house and walked inside to be swarmed by people wanting to know what happened. We all sat down in the den and I sighed
“well tony is coming tomorrow morning” jake looked murderous
“whats going to happen to eva?” I looked at him
“she has to mate tonight” ricky looked confused
“then why are you here and not with her?” I was trying to hold back the tears
“because she’s not going to mate with me. She’s mating with shawn because he knows how to handle her power and it would go to my head as elder pam said” they all looked at me with pity but I just stood up and walked to my room. The moment I laid in my bed I fell asleep having one of the worst nightmares ever.
