Harry:
“Who you gonna call?” Harry sings.
“Ghostbusters!” you finish as the two of you drive off towards a haunted house. You’d been talking about doing this for weeks now and you’ve finally just sucked up enough courage to do it. Harry had gotten really into the whole thing, gathering up flashlights and a little camcorder to try to catch some footage of anything supernatural.
As you walk up the front path to the house, Harry turns to you and asks, “‘You sure you want to go through with this?”
“Why? Are you starting to get scared?” you counter.
“Nope, just checking up on you.” He clicks on his flashlight and opens the old, splintered wooden door.
“Hello? Anybody home?” he calls out into the darkness after turning on his camcorder.
“A ghost isn’t gonna answer you,” you tell him.
“It might,” he insists. You break off and head in separate directions - Harry manning the living room and you wandering into the kitchen to check things out.
“You think we’ll actually find any evidence of this place being haunted?” Harry calls to you.
“Probably not, but this is still pretty cool. Come in here and check out all this old stuff.” Harry comes to join you in the kitchen, walking into a cobweb as he goes.
“Ahh! Ghost!!” he screams before realizing it was just a cobweb and laughing at himself.
“You’re ridiculous,” you say with an amused laugh.
Niall:
“You know that house a couple blocks away was abandoned years ago and is supposedly haunted?” you mention to Niall over dinner one evening.
“Yeah, what about it?” he asks.
“I kinda wanna go to it,” you say.
“You do? Why?”
“I dunno. Just to say that I did, I guess. It would certainly be something different to do one night instead of just watching another movie that we’ve seen a million times already.”
“We don’t always watch movies. We do other stuff too. We…watch TV…? Yeah, you’re right, we’ve hit a rut. Alright, I’m in. Let’s go tonight.”
“Really?? You’re gonna come along so willingly?”
“Sure, why not? It seems pretty interesting, actually.” You smile.
“Alright. Tonight it is, then.” Later than night as you two step onto the front porch of the house, you’re suddenly wondering what you thought was so appealing about going to that house. Niall gently kicks the door open with his foot. He steps in and you hover by his back, using him as a human shield in the event that something spooky happens.
“Babe, could you kindly get your tallons out of my back?” Niall asks you as the two of you inch your way into the house as though you are one mass.
“No, I cannot. I don’t want to be here anymore, let’s go home.”
“This was your idea in the first place! Let’s at least go check out another room.”
“Niall, get me out of here.” He ignores your request and continues making his way into a bedroom. You swear you think you see something and proceed to go into full-panic mode.
“What is that? What is that? What is that? Get me out of here before I wet myself. Oh my God…” Your nails dig deeper into his skin and he starts to laugh at you. Then something catches his eye that freaks him out as well.
“Jesus Christ! Run!!” he shouts turning around. The two of you make a break for it, unable to breathe easy again until you reach home.
Louis:
“Where are we going?” you ask as Louis drives you further into some dark, vacant area.
“We’re in the middle of nowhere…”
“[Y/N], how many times do I have to tell you to just relax? You’ll see soon enough.”
“Louis, this looks like the setting of some gory horror movie…” you say nervously. He just laughs at you before travelling the last couple minutes in silence. When he parks the car outside of some run-down little shack surrounded by woods, you stare at him doe-eyed. His eyes gleam in amusement in the moonlight.
“Apparently this house is haunted so I thought we could check it out,” he explains.
“I figured as much,” you state dryly.
He reaches over and strokes your hair, “It’ll be fun, come on.”
“If we die in there, I’m gonna kill you,” you threaten.
“That doesn’t make any sense…” he mutters.
“Shut up. I hate you right now.” You both get out of the car and approach the front door. You take Louis’ hand and hold it in a death grip. You step through the doorway cautiously and follow Louis as he begins exploring, scanning his flashlight across the empty room. You get further into the house, and you’re feeling even more on edge.
As you’re concentrating on not being attacked by a ghost, Louis suddenly jumps around and yells, “Boo!” You scream bloody murder and smack him a few times. He laughs and tries to wrap you in a hug. You avoid his embrace and run back to the car where you jump in and slam the door behind you. Louis takes his time getting back to the car and doesn’t stop laughing at you the whole ride home.
Liam:
“Are you sure you wanna do this?” Liam asks and you can tell by the slight tremble in his voice that he’s scared out of his mind.
“Come on, it will be fun! It’s all just a myth anyway, so there’s nothing to be afraid of,” you try to convince him.
“Afraid? I’m not afraid. I just want to make sure you’re alright, that’s all,” he denies.
You just giggle as he continues, “Besides, if it’s all just a myth then why are we going?” You give a slight shrug.
“I just thought it would be something interesting to do.” As you approach the front door to the supposedly haunted house, you push it open. It creaks loudly, causing Liam to gulp audibly like something out of a cartoon. He fumbles to turn on his flashlight as you step in. Liam follows close behind, practically stepping on your heels as you slowly creep your way through the house. Something clambers in the corner causing you both to jump and scream. Liam bolts for the door, screaming the whole way. You laugh and follow him out.
“We’re leaving. I’m going home!” he states as he marches off towards home, never once turning back.
“Liam! It was probably just a raccoon!” you call after him through your laughter. He doesn’t respond as he keeps bee-lining it home, so you hop down the front steps and jog to catch up with him, easing his heightened nerves when you finally reach him and grab hold of his hand.
Zayn:
The closer you get to the haunted house Zayn had insisted you both go to, the tighter the nervous knot in your stomach gets.
“You’ll be fine, baby. It’s probably not even really haunted. It’s probably just a myth that someone made up to scare the people in the neighborhood,” he coaxes.
“Well, it’s working,” you say grabbing onto his upper arm as the house comes into view. When you cross through the front gate to the yard, your fingers tighten around his arm, digging your nails into his skin. You’re half-expecting a ghost to jump out at you when you walk through the front door. So when one doesn’t, you relax a little bit. As Zayn drags you further into the house and nothing strange happens, you feel yourself lightening up and trying to enjoy the experience. A floorboard squeaks under your feet and Zayn freezes.
“What was that?” he asks in a rushed, hushed tone.
“It was just the floor, Zayn.”
“Right, yeah, of course it was,” he says sounding a bit on edge.
“You know, you were the one who wanted to come here,” you point out.
“I changed my mind,” he responds quickly, clearly freaked out as he turns around and heads back towards the door.
