Criss's POV
I rush into the house, leaving behind Jace. I cover my eye with a book. I just need to get up to my room and figure out how to hide this from Auggie, Xander, and Eli. That's gonna be difficult. I run up the stairs, not even looking for any of my brothers. I almost make it to my room, but just my luck I run into someone. We fall to the floor. I peek a look to see Auggie. Great. I'm caught. "Hey lil bro where's the fire?" He asks me
"I uh, I just gotta get to my room." I tell him
I see him get up and he extends his hand out to me. I take it, but try hiding my eye with the book still. "What's wrong?" Auggie asks me
"Nothing...why?" I ask him
"You're covering up half of your face...with a book. That's very suspicious."
"No it's not."
"And you're talking a lot. I haven't heard you talk this much all week. You're hiding something."
"No I'm not."
"Criss...." He tugs on the book, but I don't lose my grip on it. "Seriously let go." He tells me
I shake my head, refusing to talk now. But that was stupid 'cause he just pulls on the book and takes it from me. "What the hell happend to your face?" He asks me
'What do you mean?' I sign
'Who the hell gave you that black eye?!'
'No one... I fell....'
'Bullshit Criss! Tell me who it is!'
'I don't need you to fight my battles Auggie!'
'Obviously you do! Look at your face!'
'I'm fine!'
'I won't let those stupid jocks think they just kick your ass whenever they feel like it!'
'Auggie just leave it alone!'
'No! They started this! I'm gonna end it.'
'Auggie! You can't!'
"Watch me." He says using his voice
He walks past me, but I grab him by the arm. "God damn it! Listen to me! Don't do this." I beg him
"Why Criss? Why are you so afraid of them?"
Tears start to corrupt my vision. "I can't-I can't tell you." I whisper
"Why not?" He asks me with so much hurt in his tone
"I can't."
"Fine, don't tell me. But I won't let them get away with this." He walks off and leaves me hyperventilating. I run into my room and slam the door. He has no idea what they've done to me.
Auggie's POV
I stomp my feet all the way down the stairs. "Awww what's wrong?" Jace asks me
"Criss won't tell me why the fuck he just let's those stupid ass jocks beat the shit out of him whenever they feel like it!" I say angrilly
"Just drop it for now. Leave him alone. He's not gonna budge if we keep bullying him." Jace tells me
"When did you get all smart and what not?"
"I found the brain you left behind years ago."
He starts laughing, he laughs so hard he starts choking on the soda he was drinking. That makes me start laughing. Eli walks into the room and everything goes quiet. It was one of those awkward silences. Jace and I just try to avoid all eye contact with him what-so-ever. Someone taps on my shoulder. I turn to see Eli staring at Jace and I. 'What's with the silence?' Eli signs
Jace and I exchange a look then shrug. 'What do you mean?' I ask him with fake confusion
'Niether of you are talking. I mean that's okay for Auggie, but for Jace? That's like IMPOSSIBLE.' He signs
'Hey!' Jace signs defensivelly
"What's going on?" Eli asks us
"Nothing." We say at the exact same time
"Oh, now I know somethings up." He says as he rolls his eyes
"I have no idea what you're talking about." Jace tells him
Criss walks into the room with his sunglasses on. That just makes it even more suspicious. "Why are you wearing sunglasses inside?" Eli asks him as Criss walks
He shrugs and fixes the glasses a bit. "I expect a real answer." Eli tells him as he starts getting annoyed
"I have a headache ok?!" Criss answers him in a harsh tone
That isn't like Criss at all. He never sounds angry. EVER. I didn't think he could. Eli stares at him with wide eyes. This shocked him too. "You okay clone?" Jace asks him
"Fine." Criss tells him
"Well then."
"Are you high?" Eli blurts out to Criss
"No! God! Is it so hard to believe I'm the only good kid in this fucking family?" Criss snaps at Eli
"Hey! Don't you dare talk to me in that tone!" Eli yells at him using his "Dad tone"
"Not like your my dad." Criss tells him
"What has gotten into you clone?" Jace asks him in complete shock
"Nothing! Why can't you just leave me alone?" Criss asks him
Eli reaches over and yanks off the sunglasses revealing the nasty black eye Austin's fist left. "Where the hell did that come from?" Eli asks Criss
"Austin's fist." I tell him
Criss glares at me. "Hey! No! Don't glare at him! What the hell happend?" Eli asks him as he pulls Criss closer to him so he can examine the black eye
"It's nothing, it doesn't even hurt...." He lies to Eli
Eli pokes him by the eye. Criss cringes. "Ow." He says as he slaps Eli's hand away
"We're gonna have a talk with this Austin kid." Eli says
"I wanna go!" I say excitedly
"NO!" Criss says frantically
"Fine then I'll go." Jace says
"No! None of you will go! Stay out of this!" Criss yells at them
"Why do we have to stay out of it?" I ask him
"Because!" He yells at me
"Tell us Criss!" Eli yells at him
"No! I can't!"
"What does he have on you that's so bad Criss?" Jace asks him
"He's blackmailing you?!" Eli asks him furiously
"What is it Criss?" Jace asks him
Both of them start throwing questions at him. Too fast for me to read. "I'm gay okay! That's what he has on me!" Criss blurts out
I could read that perfectly fine. That shut everyone up. Even Xander who just walked into the kitchen. "Craig saw me going on a date with my boyfriend and he's been blackmailing me ever since." Criss explaines
"Boyfriend?!" We all question him at once
He sinks into the seat as he blushes. "Well you're serious huh? Whoa. Didn't see this one coming..." Jace says awkwardly
"I'm sorry! Please don't hate me!" Criss says as he breaks down and starts to sob
"Hate you? We could NEVER hate you Criss! You're our brother no matter what!" Xander tells him as he makes his way over to the table where we all sit
"Really?" Criss asks him
He looks so little here. His big green eyes full with tears. "We love you clone! None of us could hate you!" Jace tells him
"You're stuck with us. Whether you like it or not." I tell him
He laughs then hiccups. That makes us all laugh. Once we stop I say "We're gonna make Austin and Craig pay." with a serious tone
"But he'll tell the whole school!" Criss says as he begins to panic
"We'll take care of that." Jace says
We all nod in agreement. "So about this boyfriend...." Xander says nervously
"His name's Kyle...." Criss says
"How old?" I ask
"Seventeen." Criss tells us honestly
"Too old." Eli objects
"He's in all honors classes. He's super smart, super cute, funny, and he treats me right Eli." Criss explains
"Sounds too good to be true." Eli objects once again
"Eli..." Xander warns him
"Sorry."
"I wanna meet him clone." Jace tells him
"What?" Criss asks his clone confused
"I wanna meet him." Jace states again
"Oh, me too!" I tell him
"Me too." Xander and Eli say at the exact same time
Shane Howard's POV
Washington D.C.
Ian and I sit at the table. My mother Stephanie called us over. "What's going on mom?" Ian asks her
"Is everything okay?" I ask her as I begin to worry
"I always promised myself I'd tell you the truth and I think I finally should..." My mom says nervously
"What are you talking about?" Ian asks her
"I want you to know who your father is." She says
"Didn't he like die in a car crash before I was born?" I ask her confused
"No. I lied. He had another family and he left us for them." She whispers as tears run down her face
"Why did you lie to us?" Ian asks her
"I didn't want you to hate him! He was such an amazing man. I couldn't bare the thought of the two of you hating him!" She says
"If he were such an amazing man then he wouldn't have left!" I yell at her
"Shane, you have to understand he had another family at the time. His wife was pregnant around the time I was pregnant with you." She tells me
"That's just wrong!" Ian says
"She had two sons at the time. Alexander and Elijah. He couldn't leave her. He loved me, but he just couldn't leave her." My mom explains
"So what we have like half siblings?" I ask her confused
"Yes." She sighs sadly
"I cannot believe this mom." Ian tells her
"I am so sorry." She tells us
"What's his name?" I ask her
"Adamo Moriarty." She tells me
