a blizzard

The windows rattled as hail bounced off their polished panes. A huge blizzard had come about nearly three hours ago and was still coming down hard as if it was just beginning. It was making traveling impossible so Regina was stuck at home alone while Henry was trapped at Mary Margaret's. Henry was supposed to be with his grandparents and Emma for a few hours, but when the storm started, there was no way for him to come home. However, with the few exchanged phone calls, Regina was informed that Emma was not present at Blanchard's apartment. She could be anywhere, even in the blizzard, and Regina was dreading that.
She shuffled into the kitchen wearing her fuzzy white slippers and put a pot of water on the stove for hot chocolate. The house was reasonably warm but there was something about snow that made her want to drink hot chocolate and read a book.
As she thought through her book choices she got interrupted by loud noise. It sounded like it came from the front of the house. At the same time as the noise the electricity went out. Regina's heart began to race. She flipped the switch a couple times to try and see if it would magically come on again but it didn't.
She grabbed a butcher knife from the kitchen drawer and slipped silently into the other room. Regina swore the door was locked before but somehow it was wide open and snow was blowing in quickly.
Snow and wind couldn't have pushed it open because the door was built to restrain hard winds.
Cold air wrapped around her and traveled up her spine.
Someone must've broken in.
"Who's there?" Regina demanded.
"It's me." Said a familiar voice.
Regina sighed in annoyance.
"Emma. What are you doing here?" She asked. "And how did you get in?"
It was still dark and Regina couldn't see where Emma was. Until she heard a thud and a groan coming from the right of her.
"I made a key." she said. "Can't you turn the lights on?"
"The power went out. Hold on. "
Regina waved her hand above her head and small specks of lights appeared. They were about as small as ping pong balls and they floated around like fire flies.
"How'd you do that?" Emma asked as she stared up at the tiny lights.
"What are you doing here?" Regina asked again, avoiding Emma's question.
Emma closed the front door and began slipping off her coat.
"Well. If you haven't noticed, there's a blizzard happening right outside your door, and it's not necessarily good weather to be taking a walk in an-"
"Okay... I get it." Regina interrupted.
Regina looked at the blonde intruder. She was looking up at the lights again and something sparked in the pit of Regina's stomach.
Emma really looked beautiful in this light and Regina couldn't help but smile at this curious creature who had entered her home. Emma looked down from the lights.
"Do you have any clothes I can change into?" She asked.
"Yes, of course." Regina replied, breaking away from her thoughts.
Regina led her upstairs and to the bedroom. She pulled out some warm pajama pants and a matching sweater from the dresser and handed them to Emma. They both were covered in little red apples, but Emma didn't mind. She would be warm in these even if they were a little weird. Emma thought it was cute that Regina owned these but gave her a look that said 'really'
"What?" Regina blushed. Emma laughed.
"I'll be waiting down stairs if you need me." Regina told her and she walked out the door, leaving a couple light orbs with Emma.
Regina left thinking she closed the door all the way , but a strip of light was leaking from the door way. She turned around to close the door completely and accidentally looked through the crack.
Emma had taken her shirt off and was standing there in her apple pajama pants with her bare back to the door. A thin layer of light wrapped around Emma's body and touched the places Regina was wishing she could. Emma slipped on the sweater and Regina broke from her trance. She quietly but quickly ran back down stairs with her heart pounding in her chest.
She couldn't believe what she had just done. How could she be thinking about Emma that way? Regina was arguing with herself about whether it was or wasn't okay when she remembered the pot of water on the stove. She left her thoughts alone and forced herself to go and make two cups of hot chocolate.
Emma walked into the dining room where Regina was settled. She sat down in the chair diagonal from Regina and reached out for the cup of hot chocolate with a nod of thanks. The light orbs danced slowly above their head and the snow had slowed down a bit and was lightly brushing against the window. It made the whole mood peaceful and relaxing.
Emma glanced at Regina who happened to already be looking at her. A warm feeling ran through her and she felt a little different. Regina was so beautiful and Emma hadn't really noticed till now.
She cleared her throat. "This hot chocolate is really good." Emma smiled.
"Thanks." Regina said quietly almost whispering. Regina couldn't help but stare at Emma. She wanted her and she wanted her bad.
"You have any cinnamon?" Emma asked.
"In the kitchen, in the spice cabinet." Regina told her.
Emma stood up and walked into the kitchen. She knew where the cinnamon was but she need to get out of the dining room before she made a move on Regina and ruined things between them. The sexual tension between them was strong and she didn't want to be the first to act upon it. She didn't know what was coming over her. Emma wanted Regina desperately but the thought seemed crazy. She opened the cabinet and reached for the cinnamon when a pair of hands were on her waist.
Regina turned her around by the waist and slammed her lips into Emma's.
This feeling, whatever it was had taken over and Regina and Emma and neither of them could hold it in anymore.
Regina started to pull away, expecting Emma to freak but instead Emma pulled her in closer and began kissing her harder. The orbs danced above them faster and brighter. Regina wasn't paying attention to them but her powers were making them lose control.
One by one, as their kiss became more heated, the light orbs went out until finally there was one left. Emma pulled away to catch her breath. Regina had lifted her up onto the counter and was holding her by the legs.
A low hum sounded around the house and the electricity came back on. Emma smiled into Regina's cheek.
"I don't think so. " Regina said. And she snapped her fingers. All the lights went out again and Regina kissed Emma again, but more passionately. The last orb grew brighter and larger until it finally burst leaving Emma and Regina alone in the darkness with the blizzard.
I hope you liked it.
