I have made it to school after two days of being sick, then when I decided to go to school there is no formal lessons. Students are required to attend club meetings and assemblies.
"I should have just stayed home and have a Channing Tatum marathon" I said to Serena as we walk with students to the gym for the assembly
"And you must call me, so we can watch it together" She winks
"With popcorns of course!" We both laugh
"Excuse me! Move!" The macot, Red Phoenix said as he cleared the way for the cheerios to pass to the gym
"Hi!" I said as I saw Vanessa pass by but she must have not heard me
"Hearzone?" Serena smirks "Did she even called you the day Dylan said she'll call?"
"Nope! She must've fell asleep tired of practice"
"Why do you keep on feeding yourself with that lies? She treats you like trash" Serena hands on her hips
"You don't know what things Vanessa and I have been through together, don't judge!" I kinda raised my voice on her a little
"Fine! But I'm telling you, she's a two faced bitch with Pom Poms and Cheers" Serena looking at Vanessa
I don't know why Serena hates Vanessa so much
We sat down to our seats, I waved at Jake who was with his girl of the day. I saw Dylan at the front row with the Lacrosse Team and The cheerleaders at the front giving out loud cheers.
"Good Morning students of Burkhart High School, I'm your Principal Mr. Jackman. I am here to annouce that our Lacrosse, girl's baseball with the 5th time cheerleading competition winners -The mighty Pheonix are competing in their own sports areas. As the principal I wish you all team members and captain with the coaches to win and bring Burkhart High School Honor" the crowd cheers
"Which one are you cheering for?" Serena whisper
"All of them" I said
"I thought The Lacrosse Captain!" She teases
"Someone might hear you!" I cover her mouth with my palm but she licks it so I pulled it away, her laughing
"Gosh! Serena, eewww!" I wiped it on my tissue
"It's just saliva, kissing I might tell you is more gross but really fun" She points to one of the guy from the Lacrosse team "I once made out with Jeremy, such a saliva boy and ohh I remember Dawson from AV club, total throat drilling. Yuck!" she laughs
"Were they your boyfriend?" I was curious
"No!"
"Why did you even made out with them?"
"Gosh Skye! It's the new century. If you want to kiss someone kiss them" she looks at me "Oh my God! I know your a virgin but I didn't know you haven't been kissed" a surprise on her face
"Well, I almost once should've been kissed by a boy but she chose to kiss someone else" I told her
"And when was that?"
"4th grade, Sleeping Beauty play. That boy Francis went to kiss ahm Vanessa who was Maleficent intread of me" I was a little ashame
"Oh My Gosh! And no one ever tried to kiss you again?" Laughing at my almost first kiss
"Shut Up!" I stuff her mouth with tissue, she spits it out of her mouth and continued laughing
"I should tell Jake the new discovery, It's so tragic!" Pulling out her phone from her pocket
"No!" I took her phone, raising my hand so that she can't reach but I didn't know that Principal Jackson was asking for volunteer about something which I didn't hear for Serena and I were too busy talking about my first kiss
"Ms. Morgan, glad you volunteer" he speaks my name through the speaker catching my attention. Everybody was looking at me, my hands up with Serena's phone
"What is happening?" I muttered to Serena
"How would I know?" She says
"Please come infront Skye" Principal Jackman said gesturing me to go down
"Ahm I" I slowly stands up but Serena pushed me
"Skye is the volunteer for today's demo" Everybody claps but I nervously smile as I stand next to Principal Jackman "Brave to volunteer, I must say"
"Thanks?"
"And for today's demo is about self defense, let us welcome our former student and now alumni Daniel Walters" A medium dark colored haired, tall matching expeessive eye with well fit body entered, I swallowed in.
"Hi!" He smiles, he resembles Dylan a little
"Arrrrrrrgggggggg!" Every girl groans in frustation as they saw Daniel
"I ask for volunteer no one wanted except Skye, Now we should start. Please Daniel" he offers the floor to both of us
"I won't break any bones" He teases
"Great!" I sarcastically said, even though he was definitely good looking but I prefer Dylan more
"This is what you're going to do if some grabs you at your wrist in force, This fight move is pretty simple. Once an attacker has grabbed you rotate your arm so that your palm is facing your face. You'll also want to bring your hand upward. Do it" I do as he says "At this point you flex your hand toward your body creating space between your hand and your attackers. This space allows you to grab the meaty part of your attackers palm with your other hand. Okay"
"Are you sure?" I ask him as I do
"Yes Skye this is self defense" he smirks
" The important thing here is that you reach under and around the hand that's being held so you grab his hand on the outside. Once you grab his hand with your free hand he won't be able to maintain his grip on your hand. This is when you use your now free hand to grab the other side of his palm." He continues
"At this point you simply rotate his hand to apply the joint lock. The thing that separates this fight move from other similar moves is the take-down. Don't simply rely on the twisting of the join lock to force him to the ground. If he's bigger and stronger he'll likely be able to put up a fight. If however you take a step back and rotate your body 180 degrees while twisting his wrist he'll be taken off balance and his superior mass and strength won't do him much good.Once he's on the ground you should maintain the lock keeping his arm straight."
"Wow!" I said in amazement
"That's how it is to protect you from someone who forcely grabs your wrist, but please self defense don't use it to harm others for it can cause real harm" he then stands up "Shall we continue? How about when someone grabs you from behind?" Again groans was heard from the every girls in the assembly
After the self-defense demo, Daniel formally introduces himself to me.
"Daniel Walters" he offers his hand
"Skye Morgan, is that one of anotherone of your demos?" Pointing at his hand
"No, you just shake it" he chuckles
"Oh" I was embarrassed from the thought, I shook his hand
"Are you a senior?" He asks
"Yes!"
"You know my brother is also a se-" he was cut off by someone
"Daniel!" Dylan brohugs Daniel
"Happy to see you!" Daniel said "This is my brother Dylan" he introduces Dylan, he didn't know we already know each other
"I know Skye, she's my Chemistry lab partner" Dylan said
"Yeah, and his my Bestfriend's boyfriend" I added smiling
"Heather?" Daniel unsurely asks
"Heather and I broke up, Vanessa is my girlfriend . She's Skye's bestfriend" he answers his brother
"True" and speaking Vanessa approaches the 3 of us
"Hi!" She sweetly said
"This is she!" Dylan shifting to Vanessa's side resting his arms on her shoulder
"oh Hi! I'm Dylan's brother" Daniel just smiles, I'm slowly feeling out of place
"Nice to meet you!" Vanessa said
"I should go now, My friend Serena is waiting for me" I pointed to where Serena was talking to some of her friends
"Wait Skye" Daniel stops me
"Can I see you again?" He asks me "a lunch, supper or dinner?" He nicely smiles, I look at Dylan
"I don't know" I said biting my inner cheek
"If you change your mind, call me" he gives me a calling card
"Okay!" I nod
"Bye" He waved and I left
"What did he gave you?" Serena asks with arms crossed
"He kinda ask me out"
"Who? Daniel?" She was surprise and dramatically covers her mouth
"Yes" I shyly said
"Oh my god! Tell me you said Yes!"
"I told him I don't know" linking my arms around her as we left the assembly
"What? As hot as Daniel, I would have said yes even if he wasn't asking!"
"I don't know, he is Dylan's brother"
"But maybe it's the time to move on and jump Daniel, not literally I mean" she insists
"I still don't know Serena" looking at Daniel's calling card
"Just think about it"
"Okay"
