It was a cool, September night in Texas. One of the very few to happen ever since Nicole Fusco had moved down here. Usually, the days and nights would be heated, and humid. But, now that Summer was almost over - along with college, the weather was cooling down.
"No, Aunt Cathy. I haven't spent any of my inheritance." Nicole rolled her eyes, shutting her text book quietly.
"Yes, I understand. I'm not going to be like my parents, and use my money foolishly, Auntie. Now, I'm going to bed now. Goodnight, love you."
Nicole clicked the red button on her iPhone, as the call ended. She sighed, her auburn waves being pushed back with her small hand. Life was struggling for her - Filthy rich, or not.
Yes, Nicole Fusco as in the only daughter of The Fusco family. They were often known as "The Filthy Rich Fuscos'" around the entire state of New York, and now down here in Texas.
Being rich was NOT what Nicole wanted, at all. It was hard to trust people, because she didn't know whether or not she had friends to trust. A majority of them were there for her money. To go shopping, or out to eat at fancy places.
It was hard being rich.

"Knock, knock." Kayla smiled, entering the dorm of Nicole Fusco. Nicole groaned, "What do you want, Kay?" Kayla shrugged, "Just my bestest friend to get up, so we can go to the mall." Nicole groaned, "Pick out my clothes, please. I just want a few more minutes of sleep. I was up late last night."
Kayla didn't have to hear anymore. She knew how hard Nicole's life was. Out of hundreds of people on campus, Kayla was one of Nicole's real friend. She didn't care how much money, or fame, or anything like that. As long as they were nice to her, she'd be nice to them.
"And," Kayla continued, pulling out a pair of dark blue flats. "Here's your outfit, miss!"
Grabbing the clothes, and still half asleep, Nicole entered the bathroom.
Minutes later, Nicole emerged from the bathroom. Her auburn waves was tamed, no longer a wild nest. She wore a floral tank top, light blue skinny jeans and dark blue flats. Going with a more natural look, she wore a thin layer of eyeliner, and mascara.
"Gorgeous!" Kayla grinned, "If I do say so myself."
Nicole rolled her eyes playfully, grabbing her phone and bag.
"Let's go, Kay."
