INTRODUCTION

Ever since his father became Consul when he was only a year old, Adrian Dieudonne has spent his life growing up in different homes until he was finally shipped off to the Lightwoods when he was ten. His father, Malachi Dieudonne, had deemed his work as Consul too demanding, and thus trusted his only child to the Lightwood's care, only seeing his son a few times each year. As a result, their relationship is practically nonexistent, and by the time Adrian is a teenager, his anger with his father is almost always there, the subject so touchy that the people he grew up with would never mention his name, for fear that he would disappear for days like he was prone to do.
Wanting the approval of a man he hated just made him angrier, especially considering Adrian harbored a secret that he hasn't even shared with his best friend, Alec Lightwood, even though Alec's own secret was clear as day.
Alec Lightwood was in love with Jace Wayland.
But Jace Wayland had his eyes for a new girl named Clary Fray.
And Adrian Dieudonne was in love with Alec Lightwood.
Throw in an evil maniac hellbent on destroying humanity and Downworlders alike, and anyone could understand why Adrian wants to forget all of his problems and pretend feelings didn't exist.
