Second, the list of spells used in this chapter & their purposes: the diffindo spell is used to precisely and accurately cut something, the ferula spell conjures up bandages and wraps around what needs to be bandaged, the levicorpus hex is where the victim is hoisted upside down by the ankle in the air, the colloshoo hex is when the victim's shoes gets stuck in place/on the ground, the densaugeo hex is when the victim's teeth elongate at a very fast pace, and the liberacorpus counter-spell is the counter-spell to the levicorpus hex, just to let you guys know if you didn't know that already XD

Sadie's POV
Hello, I'm Sadie. I'm currently crying in my dorm room, sitting on a pile of used tissues. Why, you may ask? The infamous marauders. Believe me, this is not the first time I deliberately have skipped classes because of them. I had gotten diagnosed with depression, and used to harm myself in the past, that is, until my best friend found out.
*FLASHBACK*
(WARNING: TRIGGER)
I can't take it anymore. I'm done being their victim, their little chew toy that they thrash around and then throw away like a piece of rubbish. I ran to the washroom in my dormitory, and didn't care about leaving the door unlocked. I started hyperventilating and I fell to my knees as thoughts swarmed in my mind. "You're worthless." "You are nothing." "Nobody likes you." Everything feels like a slap in the face and they are all coming at once. "Leave Hogwarts." "You are better off dead." "Why are you still here?" There's a lump hardening in the back of my throat as I choke out sobs, failing to make myself go unnoticed. Fresh, hot tears start to roll down my flushed cheeks. I take out my wand shakily, and whisper, "Diffindo." I feel pain shoot at my arm leaving a fresh cut. I had learned how to subside the spell and make it only a mild cut, because I don't really fancy cutting my arm off. "Diffindo." I whisper again, revealing another new cut. As I was crying, a tear rolled off my cheek and onto my arm, into my first cut, and I felt a great sensation of pain, as if my arm had just been burned. As I was about to create another cut, the bathroom door had swung open, revealing a very worried Emily. "Classes are done for the day, I heard girls saying someone was crying in the washroom, what hap-" but before she could finish her sentence, she saw my arm in the reflection of the mirror. My shaky hand dropped my wand on the ground, as I stood frozen with fear. Emily ran over and gently took my arm in her hands. Her eyes were glossed over with unfallen tears, as they were fixed on my arm, her face contorted with sad and angry expressions all at once. "How could you?! Why would you?! Why would you even do this Sadie?!" She yelled.
I broke out in tears as she hastily said, "Ferula..." and bandages suddenly appeared and wrapped tightly around my arm. "I'm so sorry," I sobbed, not able to hold them in any longer, "it's all my fault!" Emily shot her head up from my now bandaged arm where blood was trying to seep through, and looked me straight in the eye as she lowered her voice and talked sternly, "Listen Sadie, this," she said, gesturing to my arm, "is not your fault. At all. I need you to know that. It's their fault! They are the cause of this!" I covered my mouth in hope to stifle my sobs, as I listened to her words. I guess she already knew that the cause of this had been the marauders doing. "Emily, t-they didn't make me do it-" I tried to say, but she cut me off. "I know Sadie, but they're the reason you even considered it. That's enough for me." She looked down at my arm sadly, with a look of disapproval.
"Sadie... I'm going to have to take you to the hospital wing." She looked at me, and I realized she was serious.

"N-No Emily, don't! I'll be fine..." I said, as my eyes trailed down to my arm. I did not want to be taken to the hospital wing. What if James Potter or Sirius Black had some kind of quidditch injury or something? I did not want to take chances with that! Emily looked very worried and apprehensive, but went against her better judgement, "Alright. But if I ever catch you doing this again, I'm taking you straight to the hospital wing Sadie." She said, before offering her hand to help me up. I knew I shouldn't start a fight, she was only looking out for me, seeing as how she was my best friend and all, so I nodded and took her hand to help me up, and then we went back to our dorm room that we shared with Lily Evans, Molly Prewett, and Alice Selwyn (A/N: Alice Longbottom's maiden name was never revealed in the Harry Potter series :/ hopefully you guys are fine with this last name.). That night Emily snuck food from the Great Hall at dinner for me because she knew I wasn't feeling up to leaving the girls' dormitory that night.
*FLASHBACK OVER*
Emily has been such a good best friend, and always checks to make sure that I don't do it anymore. The scars are still there, of course... fading ever so slowly. I was pulled out of my thoughts when I heard someone knocking at the door. I shot my head towards it, as I was filled with natural curiosity.
Emily's POV
I was walking from my last class of the day, also known as my worst, History of Magic. Two weeks into bloody fourth year and it was already so horrendously boring. I had spent all of class discussing Goblin Rebellions. Thank Godric that it is Friday, because when I return to Gryffindor tower, it will officially be another glorious weekend to catch up on some sleep, read at the library, eat my saved up candy from the train ride to Hogwarts, and hangout with Sadie. Sadie. I was worried when she had not been to our classes today, but seeing as how she looked as though she wasn't going to get out of bed for the life of her all morning, I pretty much had a feeling she wasn't going to go to classes today. So early in the year and she has already missed classes... back to her old routine... I swear if she is thinking about those idiotic marauders with their idiotic nicknames...
Speak of the devils.
While I had been so consumed by my thoughts, I turned the corridor and heard fits of laughter and yelling. I quickly turned to see what the source of all the noise was, and found none other then the marauders themselves, with poor Severus Snape. I rolled my eyes as I watched Sirius Black yell, "Levicorpus!" Severus was quickly swept off of the ground and hoisted by the ankle upside down in midair. I thought it was odd that Sirius was doing the hex considering he is the right hand man to James Potter, the ringleader of the marauders, who would be the most likely of them all to be doing the hexing to their fellow classmates. But I quickly discovered that he was right next to Sirius, quite enjoying himself, laughing with an amused expression looking at Severus, as if they haven't used that spell a million times, I thought and laughed in my head at my own sarcasm. Right behind James and Sirius was little Peter Pettigrew, watching the two with big eyes filled with admiration, letting out a few snickers. The farthest from the whole scene was Remus Lupin, avoiding his friends' shenanigans, his nose in his new book from the library. I saw that he couldn't even look at what his friends were doing, nor was he going to stop them. Well, at least he has the decency not to watch, I thought and then accidentally scoffed out loud. I tore my eyes quickly off Remus as I heard an all too familiar voice say, "Oi Hawkins! Come to watch the show, have we?" I looked at James, who was now wearing his classic smirk.
Sirius looked over and smirked as well. I thought quickly on my feet before I suddenly smirked at the idea in my head, and said, "Yes, actually, I've come to watch this show." With that I raised my wand, and before their smirks could even leave both of their faces, I looked at James before muttering,"Colloshoo!" I then looked at Sirius and said, "Densaugeo!" I finally turned my attention towards Severus, still hanging upside down, and said, "Liberacorpus!" and with that I smirked in triumph, and taunted, "Let's do this again sometime boys!" I laughed as they were in so much shock and were so angry, that they couldn't even speak. Although Severus sent a quick smile, that I returned, before he hurried off, glaring at the marauders. I then headed to Gryffindor tower. When I reached my dorm room, I heard lots of sniffling and the smirk had been wiped off of my face.
I knocked on the door, not wanting to just barge in. "Who is it?" The timid voice croaked. It was Sadie. The poor girl. "It's Emily." I replied. Not even a second later Sadie opened the door and I immediately saw that her bed had been covered with used tissues, in an awkward pile that kind of looked like a sad melting snowman in the spring.
"Sadie, are you okay?" I asked, concerned. "Yeah, just one of those days, you know?" She replied, looking dreadful. Then I had a sudden idea that I just knew would cheer her up. "Sadie, get ready and go to the Great Hall and eat dinner with me! You won't regret it! It will totally cheer you up!" I demanded. Sadie tried to protest, but knew I would end up winning the argument anyways.
After she got ready, we both traveled to the Great Hall and showed up just in time for dinner. "So, what were you talking about that you said would cheer me up?" She questioned. I looked around the Gryffindor table and my eyes landed on the marauders. I smirked. "Okay, see Sadie, look over there." I said, and pointed her in the direction that I had been looking in. She looked down the table and starting laughing at the sight in front of her. It was James Potter, who was nearest towards them, barefoot. Sirius Black was right next to him, covering his mouth as he was chewing trying not to reveal his now humongous teeth to all of his fellow gryffindors. They both looked extremely annoyed. Right across from them was Remus Lupin, holding in a laugh at his best friends' predicament, while continuing to read. While Peter Pettigrew, who was next to Remus, was stuffing his face with all of the food that was on his plate. "Who did that?" Sadie asked, while laughing. She looked at me, just in time to see my smirk grow deeper. Her face held an expression of shock mixed with admiration. "This is why you're my best friend!" She said, and hugged me. I hugged her back.
Sadies POV
"Well, shall we eat and enjoy the view while we can?" Emily asked me, passing over a plate piled high with russet potatoes. "Definitely!" I said, grabbing the plate and we both laughed as I loaded some potatoes on my plate, and then picked up a delicious chicken breast that was calling my name.

OKAY SO I HOPE YOU GUYS ENJOYED THE FIRST CHAPTER, NOT MUCH HAPPENS IN THIS BUT IT JUST GETS YOU A BETTER IDEA OF THE MAIN CHARACTERS! I HOPE YOU ENJOYED THIS MUCH MUCH MUCH OVERDUE CHAPTER AND VOTE AND COMMENT IF YOU WANT, I PROMISE I WILL GET WORKING ON CHAPTER 2 ASAP!
