Lifeless Tree
"Whew, that was a good run!" says my father who is worn out from racing against me. Despite being in his 40's, my dad can still run circles around everyone here in the south.
"Yeah, I almost beat you this time too dad," I reply. Life here in the swamps gets pretty boring after a while so running is what I live for.
"Now then" begins father, "Today's the day you head into town to go conduct business with a friend of mine. We need to convince him to move to the swamps so our palace can-"
"Dad...."
"Now son, it's highly important that-"
"JUST SHUT UP!" I scream.
"Alright smart ass, go!" my father barks back.
I begin walking towards town and finally reach it around five in the evening. After unsuccessfully trying to persuade my father's friend, I'm about ready to return home when my eye catches a gargantuan ominous tower. I know I should return home, but something compels me to check it out. Nervously, I approach it and push the door open. It's a big door and I'm small for my age so it takes some effort to get it open. Inside is what appears to be an abandoned factory. It's not real bright inside, so a few minutes pass before I get my bearings.
I wander around and eventually come across a rusted silver door. I open it and instantly I feel weird almost as if someone's trying to tear me apart. I ignore it and continue on my way until I freeze in my tracks. That weird feeling comes back and I feel light headed.
I black out for a while and wake up to hear footsteps. A shiny yellow ball approaches my paralyzed body and starts talking to her friend who looks like me. He has yellow hair, a sad expression on his face and wears green pieces of cloth. I wish I could ask him to help me. Too bad I'm a lifeless tree..
