That's Mason!!
Fairy's POV
After the plane ride...
"We are in California!!!" Kenya shrieks.
"Yes, I know. We need to find our Aunt!" Mason says.
"She got our bags already right?" Kenya asks.
Mason nods.
"Slow down guys. I have little legs." I say jogging to keep up.
"Hop on." Mason says bending down.
"Holy cow, I can see everything up here." I say from on his back.
Mason laughs.
"Is that your Aunt?" I say pointing.
"Oh yep!" Mason say picking up the pace.
"Hey kids! Who do we have here?" There aunt asks.
"This is Fairy. My best friend!" Kenya says.
"Hello! I'm Beth, you can call me Auntie." Beth says.
I nod and smile.
"Okay let's get you guys to the resort!" Auntie says.
"Is anyone else staying there?" Kenya asks.
"Just one house is taken. They leave the day before you guys." Auntie says.
"Which house?" Kenya asks.
"The yellow. I saved the bigger one for you girls. Mason you're staying with your friends right?" Auntie asks.
"Yeah, I'll stop by though!" He says smiling.
"Good." Auntie says smiling.
We walk out to her car.
"You still have ol' Bessie?" Mason asks.
"I would never get rid of my baby!" Auntie says.
She has an old red truck, rusting all over the place, but runs well.
"It's about a 2 hour drive. Get comfy!" She says starting Bessie.
"We have to squish in. Ken get in next to Auntie." Mason says tossing his backpack in the truck bed.
I toss mine in the back.
"Hop on in." He say waiting.
I hop in next to Kenya.
"The sunsets around 7:20, so it will just be setting when we get there. No swimming for tonight!" Auntie says.
"Get some sleep." Mason whispers in my ear.
Kenya leans up against me.
Mason pats his shoulder.
I lean against him.
"Wake up." I feel someone shake my arm.
"What." I say.
"We're almost there!" Mason says.
I poke Kenya.
"Wha?!" She says loudly.
"Almost there!" I say.
"YAY!" She says bouncing in her seat.
"It's beautiful out here." I say.
The sun is just setting. We aren't in the busy part of California we are like in the one spot that has hardly anyone.
"It sure is!" Auntie says pulling onto a dirt road.
"So you guys get the light blue house. Key is in the umbrella on the back porch. I need to drive to town with Mason. You guys can get the bonfire started if you want. Be careful! I'll be back soon!" Auntie says driving to the house.
"It's so cute!" I say.
Auntie parks the truck and hops out.
Mason get all our stuff to the door.
"See ya'll soon!" Auntie shouts.
Mason waves and they drive off.
"Hey look! There's some guys swimming!" Kenya says pointing.
I look over, damn 2 of them are really muscular. The other two don't look to bad.
"They're hot." Ken says.
I shake my head.
"Let's get the key." I say going to the back.
We manage to get the key without poking anyone's eyes out.
The house is really cute. There's two bed rooms one looks out at the ocean the other towards the front. The kitchen is in the back and has the door to the porch. The living room is in the front. The bathroom and the laundry room is in the basement.
"I want this room!" I shout.
"Okaay!" Ken says laughing.
We carry everything inside and to our rooms.
"Wanna get the fire started?" Ken asks.
"Yeah sure!" I say.
"Put a sweatshirt on, it gets chilly at night." Ken says slipping on her flip flops.
We throw on sweatshirts and carefully make our way down to the beach.
"Auntie stores wood over here." Kenya says point to a giant pile.
We start moving it closer to the water.
"We need matches!" Ken yells.
"Where are they?" I ask.
"I don't know. Let's go look in our cabin." Ken says.
We jog back up to the cabin.
"I can't find any!" I yell at Ken.
"Let's ask the guys in yellow!" Kenya shouts back.
"Okay!" We walk over to the yellow cabin, chatting the whole way.
We ring the doorbell.
The door swings open.
"Hello Ladies!" A guy says.
"Hey! Do you guys have any matches?" Kenya asks.
"Um... MATT DO WE HAVE MATCHES?" The guys shouts.
"I don't know!" The Matt guy shouts back.
"I saw some in the kitchen drawer!" A different guy yells.
"I'll be right back, step inside, it's cold out." The guy says.
We nod.
The guys walks off to the kitchen.
"Here ya go. Why'd you need matches?" The guy asks.
"Bonfire! Wanna come?" Kenya asks.
"If I can you your names!" The guy says.
Another guy joins us by the door.
"I'm Kenya and this is Fairy." Ken says.
"I'm Cameron, but you can call me Cam." The guy who answer the door.
"And I'm Nash!" The other guy says.
"Can our friends come too?" Cam asks.
"Sure!" Ken says.
"Do you guys wanna come to a bonfire?" Cam asks.
"Nah!" One guys says.
"Sure!" The other says.
One guys come out of a room.
"I'm Matt." He says.
He looks awfully familiar. He stares are me.
"Well grab some sweatshirts and we'll meet ya down at the beach!" Kenya says opening the door.
"Okay!!" Cam says running off.
Kenya and I walk to the beach.
"They are really hot." She says.
I laugh.
We hear a scream.
"CAMERON!" Matt shouts.
We laugh.
"Cam just scared the shit outta Matt." Nash says laughing.
"Hey! It's not funny!" Matt says.
We laugh even more.
"So why didn't your other friend want to come?" Kenya asks.
"Oh him, uh, he was really busy so he needed some sleep." Matt says awkwardly.
We nod.
"I see you invited some more people!" Auntie shouts.
"Who's that?" Cam asks.
"My Aunt, and the owner!" Kenya says.
"Sweet!" Cam says.
"Start the fire!" Auntie shouts.
Kenya lights a stick and jabs it into the pile.
Auntie bring some snacks and blankets down to the sand.
"Enjoy kiddos! I have some business to do. Make sure the fire is completely out before leaving." Auntie says.
We nods.
"Thanks!" Cam says.
She waves and head up to the lodge.
"Soo tell us about yourself." Cam says looking between Ken and I.
"Fairy go first." Ken says.
"Okaay. Well yes this is my natural hair. I used to live in Canada. I now live in Wisconsin, because of my dad." I say.
"What's your favorite color?" Nash asks.
"Light blue." I say.
They nod.
"What about your mom?" Cam asks.
I shake my head.
"Oh sorry." Cam says.
Matt is staring at me.
"I'll be right back." I say getting up.
I walk down the beach.
"Wait up!" Matt shouts running after me.
He runs up and walks next to me.
"Fairy?" Matt says.
"Yeah?" I ask.
"When did your mom pass away?" He asks slowly.
"About 3 years ago." I say.
He nods.
A tear drips off my face.
"Come here." He says with his arms open.
I hug him around his waist.
"It's okay." He says rubbing my back.
I step back.
"You gunna be okay?" He asks.
I nod smiling a little.
"Race ya!" He says sprinting off.
"Hey! I have short legs!" I shout running after him.
