I wake up and slowly open my eyes, adjusting to the bright light seeping through my thin curtains. Thinking about the Quarter Quell announcement Snow will make this afternoon, my thoughts are interrupted by bile leaping up my throat again.
I quickly throw aside my duvet to run to the bathroom, but unfortunately I don't make it. I vomit what I have left in my system onto the laminate flooring. Damn. Once I finish vomiting, I hop around the mess and run down stairs to get an old cloth, spray and a cleaning bucket. Prim and Mum, who are relaxing downstairs, stroking the scruffy cat, Buttercup, suddenly look at me and frown.
"I'll be back in a sec..." I say before running back to my room.
Halfway through cleaning, Prim and Mum knock on my door.
"Wait a sec" I say, speeding up the cleaning process. "Katniss we're worried, we're coming in." I sigh in defeat as they enter. As soon as they as they see me on my knees, they quickly rush to my side.
"Oh Katniss! What's the matter?" Mum questions me. "I couldn't reach the bathroom" I say while they lift me up and put me back in bed. " I want you on bed rest till the vomiting stops." Mum orders. Prim finishes cleaning the floor while Mum opens the curtains and the window to let the stagnant air out. I glance at the clock on my bedside table as I remember Peeta and I - before we stopped talking - organised to watch Snow's announcement together. The time is 11:04am. Peeta will be here in 3 hours.
I say thank you to Prim and Mum before heading to my bathroom to have a bath. I chuck whatever looks like body wash - it's Capitol products - into the bath while the water's running. Once I've turned the tap off, I slide in and close my eyes as I feel my muscles loosen. I doze off for what I think is half an hour, until I hear a door close from downstairs. I hear muffled talking as I get out of the bath and put on my robe. I start to walk downstairs, until I hear Peeta's voice. I immediately start to back up. It can't be 2:00pm already? I quickly put on some clean clothes; jeans and a baggy t-shirt and start combing my hair with my fingers. I hear footsteps and then a knock on my door.
"Come in" I call.
