Olive View Hospital
My mouth was a desert, my tongue sand paper as my throat burned with the taste of acid. Eyes shut tight, I pursed my cracked lips and winced as they sparked with pain. I brought my tongue to them slowly, hoping to somehow alleviate the pain. But it did no good. The dryness only seemed to intensify.
