do you remember the week that followed our first interactions with one another?
well, for that first week I always came to the playground at five-thirty am.
you were always there and were always on top of the monkey-bars.
the entire first week we just sat and watched the sunrise. you were always the first one to leave.
the entire first week you wouldn't speak to me.
nor the second.
not even the third week.
but finally in the middle of the fourth week you responded to me.
i had been rambling on about how the weather was -- the week had been really rainy.
you said you hated the rain and that it was, "annoying because the clouds ruin the sunrise."
i couldn't help but smile and agree with you because the clouds really did ruin the sunrise.
you didn't speak to me for the rest of the morning.
but i somehow didn't expect you to.
and you know what?
i was perfectly fine with that.
