A few people smiled at Harry , others could care less. I turned my head to the right and saw two girls whispering and giggling then make flirty faces at him. " Sluts " I whispered under my breath. Those girls disgust me.
" Today I'm giving you a free day to work on your papers. " Mr. Bluehill explained. " You guys are seniors now you should know how to work quietly without me telling you to quiet down and threaten you to give no more individual work time. "
We were assigned this paper two weeks ago and it had to be turned in next Friday. It was worth twenty five percent of our final grade. I've worked really hard on it, history has always been one of my better subjects. If I got anything less than an A I'd be really disappointed. We were dismissed to work alone but then I heard my name being called shortly after.
"Miss Peyton!" Mr. Bluehill said as he motioned for me to come over to him. He was sitting next to Harry.
"What does he want me for? I'm not being Harry's little babysitter or tour guide if that was what he wanted. " I thought as I walked over to them.
Before I could say anything Mr. Bluehill was already explaining. " Harry here has to do something about this paper I can't give him a final grade if he doesn't do it. We've went over a list if topics and he said he was most interested in Paris." Harry nodded.
No. There is no way I'm going to let this boy I don't know get a grade for my work! I'm almost done anyway!
"I told him that a student already has this topic, but if you are willing to let him join you that would be great! Of course he won't take all your credit we are going to get things figured out for him don't worry!" Mr. Bluehill continued interrupting my thoughts.
" Sure, that's fine. " I said uninterested.
" Awesome! " he said thanking me.
I walked back to my seat , Harry following me. Ugh why did I agree to this! Harry pulled a desk next to mine and we sat down.
"So here's my index cards for all my research I'm almost done with the research. I still have to cite my work and type the whole thing though. " I explained. " And by the way my name is Peyton just in case you didn't know. " I said with a fake smile.
" You know Peyton if you don't wont to work with me you could have said so. Tell me now and I can work by myself. I don't really mind. Mr. Bluehill is just being nice letting me work with someone. And it probably has something to do with making friends , but I don't really need anyone making friends for me. Everyone has friends already and I'm fine with that we're out of here in three weeks anyway right ? " Harry said flatly. He surprised me. Did he know that smile was fake and that I really did not want to work with him? Did my voice sound annoyed or something? It's like he read me completely. I was starting to feel embarrassed of my own thoughts.
" No, no, Harry it's fine! We can work together! I know you probably have lots to do and lots of stress!" I said truthfully now because I felt ashamed before.
"Thanks. I honestly didn't think anyone would want to deal with me. Everyone is just ready to get out of here ya know? But I'll do the works cited and type the paper and do the rest of the research. I don't want to be a burden to you in any way or have you think that I'm getting your grade without putting in any effort. " he said kindly.
Wow he is so nice! Maybe doing this paper with him wouldn't be as bad as I thought...
" Oh my gosh thanks Harry! Your really sweet! How about you come over today after school and we work on it together? " He smiled at this idea. I couldn't help but notice his adorable dimples and smile back. Did I really just invite him over to my house after talking to him for about two minutes? I don't even know him! What the hell is wrong with me, I was just whining about working with him? He is so cute though. His green eyes are absolutely stunning , and his smile is the cutest thing I have seen in a really long time. There are like zero cute guys at my school. I suddenly realize I am staring at him and snap out of it. " Um you know so we could just talk right now....get to now each other a bit?" I say awkwardly. Oh my god why am I so weird?
" That sounds lovely. " He replies laughing.
Gosh I'm stupid. I don't even know what to say right now and he sure isn't opening his mouth. " Where are you from Harry? " I blurt out.
" L. A. " he said flatly.
" Wow ,so what brings you to Monterey ? " I say somewhat surprised at his response.
He hesitates "Erm...um.. well jobs. That kinda stuff you know. " he said shyly looking down on the desk and fidgeting with his pencil.
Clearly this was a touchy subject. " Oh well do you like it here so far? " I asked.
" Yeah it's defiantly more laid back and friendly here. " he answered with a little more confidence.
" I do like it here don't get me wrong but I have always wanted to move to a big city." I say trying to make this conversation a little less uncomfortable.
" Nah, I think this is much better. "
"Really? Well we'll see. " I joked. He laughed at this.

I was pulling into my drive way and it turned out working with Harry on the paper after school was perfect because he was going to have to take the bus.
" Nice house. " Harry said as he shut my car door.
" Really? Thanks. I've always thought it was pretty basic. " I replied.
" Nope, it's a good looking home to me. " he said kindly.
We walked inside and I heard my mom calling me to see how my day was , like usual. This time instead of yelling "Good!" I walked into her office so I could introduce Harry to her.
I led him down the bright hallway,the sun beaming down on us from the huge windows in the family room.
I walked into her office and her eyes were glued to the computer screen. "My day was good like usual. Um this is Harry. He is new. We are kind if going to like help each other with our history paper. " I said very quickly. I usually didn't bring anyone home with me after school for any reason and I knew my mom would be surprised.
My moms eyes shot up from the computer screen. Wow ,she didn't even notice two people walking in her office. " Oh! Hi Harry! I'm Carol , you can call me Mrs. Carol! It's nice to meet you! You can stay over as long as you want! You can stay for dinner if you would like! " My mom said all bubbly and happy. Oh my gosh she was embarrassing me.
" Thank you Mrs. Carol um I will probably just stay as long as I need to help Peyton. Then I'll be heading home. And it's very nice to meet you too!" He said. I turned around quickly giving Harry the hint to follow me before my mom could say anything else. We walked into my room and I immediately shut the door.
"Cute room. " he joked. My room was pretty basic. My walls were teal and I had a purple bed spread with black flowers on it covering my queen sized bed. I had a book shelf to the right of my bed , a nightstand to the left , and I dresser filled with clothes in front of me bed. I had little knickknacks everywhere though.
"Thanks. " I laughed. He smiled and I smiled back. Now getting a feel for Harry I could see that he was around 6 feet tall , he had a very long torso , it was quite sexy actually. Harry wasn't super buff and muscular but he wasn't super skinny either. He had on a plain white t shirt that fell a little lower than his waist , dark jeans on that were a bit tight , and white converse on his feet. I could also see he had on a necklace but I couldn't tell what the pendant was without staring at him to hard. It wasn't necessarily my type style in a guy but he sure did make it attractive.
