Holy shit, it's cold.

You hugged yourself as you made your way across the new terrain. There was a convenient pathway leading to God knows where and all around were trees that looked very much dead. You rubbed your bare arms even harder as you tried to pick up the pace. You had no idea where you were heading, but as long as that place had warmth and winter clothes, you were fine with anything.

You looked left and right constantly, trying to see if you could spot anything hiding in the trees. There was nothing there, however, you couldn't shake off the feeling that you were being watched. In the midst of your paranoia, you began walking faster, ignoring the fact that you could see the fog of your breath ahead of you.

And then a twig snapped.

You spun around to catch whoever it was that was following you, but nobody was in sight. Your heartbeat was accelerating rapidly and the feeling of fear was searing into your skin. You stayed frozen in place for a few seconds, trying to collect any coherent thoughts that could aid you in calming yourself down. There was none.

You started running.

Your heavy breathing was creating major fog around you that was a hindrance to your sight, however, you kept going. Suddenly, it felt as if someone was breathing down your neck and you turned abruptly to be greeted by a hooded figure.
You tried to stifle a scream, knowing fully well now that it's just another monster. However, you couldn't stop yourself from stumbling backwards, barely stopping yourself from falling down.

"Is that any way to greet a new pal? C'mon, shake my hand".

What the hell? Shake his hand?

You obeyed his request and slowly stretched out your hand, all the while trying to catch a glimpse of the face under the hood. His voice sounded kind of nice after all; not too deep, not too high, just perfect.

You held his hand and firmly shook it, your tense facial expression slowly shifting into that of confusion as you heard the unmistakable sound of air being pushed out of someone's backside.

A handheld whoopie cushion.

Fucking brilliant.

You started giggling as the sound continued like the immature person you are. And soon those giggles transformed into fits of laughter. All thoughts about the cold around you were forgotten as you held on desperately to your sides. At that point you didn't know what you were laughing more at, the fact that it sounded like someone had farted or the fact that you were so paranoid over nothing.

The figure pulled his hood off to reveal nothing but bones underneath and you tried your best to hide your surprise as he looked at you and smiled.

"It's been a while since I heard someone laugh that hard at one of my jokes", he chuckled, "I'm Sans by the way. Sans the skeleton".

It was at this moment that you realized that you still had his hand clasped in yours.

Well if it's already there...

You shook his hand happily.

"I'm Y/N. Nice to meet you", you flashed him a smile. "Sorry for running away earlier... I was just a bit tense".

He chuckled.

"It's fine... Hey you're a human, right?"

"Y-Yup!" you exclaimed, rubbing your arms again as the freezing air whipped around you. You looked at Sans, taking in the sight of the jacket wrapped snugly around his body.

Damn, I wish I had a jacket right about now.

"You wanna borrow my jacket?" Sans asked suddenly, as if he could read your mind. "You look pretty chilled to the bone".

You shivered, a bit hesitant to accept his offer. After all, you had just met him and you didn't want to be a burden already.

"Are you s-sure? I mean it's really cold, I don't want to take your jacket from you", you modestly turned down his proposal even though you secretly really wanted it.

"It's fine, bud. After all, I'm a skeleton, the cold doesn't really get under my skin", he winked at you and you rolled your eyes in amusement.

Before you could protest a second time, he had already slipped out of his jacket and handed it to you. Reluctantly, you took the article from his hands, scared that if you told him no a second time he would actually listen to you.

It was pretty warm being bundled up in Sans' jacket, and you pulled the fabric closer to you, trying to absorb as much heat as you could. You smiled at him.

"Thanks a skele-ton!" you giggled out the first pun that came to mind and Sans just stared at you until a wide grin was plastered across his face.

"Wow, buddy", was all he said before he burst into laughter and you couldn't help but join in.

I don't know why I was so scared in the first place, he's pretty cool!

"Hey, Y/N, knock knock"

"Who's there?"

"Boo"

"Boo who?"

"Sorry, bud, didn't mean to make you cry", he winked.

This is perfect.

You couldn't control the laughter that ensued; you always were the easiest one to make laugh back above ground. Sans seemed to be very pleased with himself and soon you two were walking side by side, exchanging various puns and jokes. Many of the ones you told were from from the notebook that Toriel had in her room, after all they were pretty punny.

It wasn't long before you finally reached an area with a small stand and an adorable little lamp. Sans turned to you.

"Hey, if you don't mind, do you want to meet my brother? He's always working really hard to catch a human and I'm sure he'll be really excited to meet you".

You didn't quite understand exactly what Sans meant by "catch" but you nodded your head anyway. After all, you had taken a liking to Sans; anybody who can make you laugh using terrible jokes is absolutely amazing in your book. And if Sans is amazing, then his brother must be equally amazing, right?

"Great... Because here he comes now", Sans jerked his bony thumb towards the figure that was currently making his way across the piles of snow. He was about a foot taller than Sans and wore, what can be described best as, a unique ensemble with a cape flowing majestically behind him. He was, unsurprisingly, a skeleton.

"SANS THERE YOU ARE! WHAT ARE YOU DOING O- SANS! WHERE IS YOUR JACKET?"

You were a bit surprised at how this new character spoke. He was clearly more excitable and boisterous in comparison with his brother; total polar opposites.

Sans shrugged nonchalantly.

"I let my friend borrow it for a while", he gestured towards you.

"OH MY GOD SANS! IS THAT A HUMAN?"

"Where?"

You giggled.

"RIGHT THERE! WEARING YOUR JACKET BESIDE YOU", Sans' brother pointed excitedly in your direction and Sans looked at you, amusement visible on his face.

"Oh yeah. I guess it is".

You waved at him and smiled.

"Hiya!"

"WOWIE! A REAL LIVE HUMAN!" the skeleton cleared his throat dramatically and pointed at you once more. "HUMAN PREPARE YOURSELF! FOR I, THE GREAT PAPYRUS, WILL ULTIMATELY CAPTURE YOU WITH PUZZLES! NYEH HEH HEH!"

And he ran off.

That was... Interesting.

"Your brother really is something, Sans", you said, a smile evident on your face.

"Yeah. He's pretty cool, right?"

You giggled and nodded your head.

"The cooliest".

You two continued to make your way towards the direction that Papyrus (You assumed that's his name) went. You liked Papyrus. Actually, both of the skelebros were quite amazing and walking with Sans was very enjoyable. It's a bit ironic how you were comfortably talking and walking alongside a monster that was supposed to allegedly be killing you.

"Hey, I'm gonna go on ahead and check up on Papyrus, okay?" Sans said after a while.

You nodded your head as a symbol that you were alright with it.

"Okay, Sans. See you later then".

He waved his hand and went directly into the woods along the path. You were a bit puzzled as to why he wasn't walking forward seeing as how that was where Papyrus was, but the second you blinked, he was gone.

Woah!

You cautiously made your way towards the spot where Sans last stood and called out his name. There was no answer. He was truly gone.

Did he just... teleport? That's so cool!
Monsters really are amazing.

Getting over your initial shock, you began to walk again and soon you saw a familiar pair of skeletal faces. Papyrus was eagerly speaking with Sans, however his words were just out of earshot. The minute he saw you, his face lit up in excitement and honestly, the fact that someone was actually THAT happy to see you was pretty heartwarming.

"HUMAN, I, THE GREAT PAPYRUS, WILL NOW ENSNARE YOU IN MY LATEST PUZZLE", Papyrus pointed towards a sheet of paper placed on the ground. "BEHOLD! TODAYS JUNIOR JUMBLE! SOLVE IT IF YOU DARE".

Deciding to roll with it, you walked towards the paper and picked it up, glancing over the disarray of letters.

Easy peasy.

Within minutes you had found all the hidden words and handed the paper to a very shocked Papyrus.

"OH NO! SANS, THE HUMAN EASILY SOLVED THE PUZZLE!"

"I keep on telling ya that's for baby bones".

"SANS!!! DON'T WORRY! I'LL JUST CREATE MORE DIFFICULT PUZZLES!" Papyrus boisterously exclaimed before running off ahead again, leaving you and Sans together once more. You gave him a sideways smile before continuing on your journey and gestured for him to join you. You still had absolutely no idea where this never ending path lead to and you were worried that the view of snow was never going to vanish.

"Hey, Sans, where exactly am I going?"

He chuckled.

"You don't know where you're heading? Snowdin's just up ahead, it's a little town so I'm sure you can rest up there"

Snowdin, huh?

You both continued walking in silence. You took solace in admiring the scenery around you. It wasn't much, just trees and more snow, but it was unique in its own way.

"It's actually kind of pretty when you're not freezing to death", you joked.

Sans smiled a smile that you just couldn't help but stare at. It was a smile that held a certain warmth to it, like he's recollecting some past fond memory and as you gazed at him you couldn't stop the smile that crept into your face as well.

"Knock knock", he said, jolting you out of your trance. You shook your head slightly to bring yourself back to earth.

"Who's there?"

"Wanda"

"Wanda who?"

"Wanda go hang out with me?"

You giggled and nodded your head excitedly.

"Sure!"

As soon as the words were out of your lips, you noticed the bright colored lights and a sign that said "Welcome to Snowdin". There were monsters everywhere in the little town and a huge Christmas tree was in the center of it all.

Beautiful!
