Jessica walked right past me. To Mist. This was not good. She always does this. Ever since she was little. She wanted it so she took it it. I remember when we were little.
" Jess! That's mine" I shrieked. I was five and she was 7.
" But, please, I need it. I don't have one. " she had said, holding up the necklace my grandmother gave me.
" I don't care. Grandma gave it to me. I'm keeping it." I cried.
She scrunched up her face. Then put it over her head." I like it, though. I'm taking it."
" No." And I reached to take it from her.
She slipped it off and pulled. My necklace snapped. The charm on it flew upwards. Afterwards I remember whenever I was warned that she was coming over, Numa and I would hide everything important.
There were so many times she took things. That's just one of the times. Now I was watching Mist laugh with Jessica. I decided not to make a scene and I brushed past Jessica, grabbed Mist and went inside," let's meet the rest of the family."
As soon as we took our coats off a pudgy lady came and hugged us. It was Aunty Margaret. I hugged her back. I could see Mist's discomfort and decided got help him. "Auntie, this is my soul mate, Mist."
Aunt Margaret looked positively delighted," Hello dear." Mist cringed when he smelt her perfume. It's like roses and wet dog. I saw him send a little air over there to push the smell away. I bit back laughter. Just then a butterfly came into the room. Margaret let go of Mist and held her hands out. A little girl landed there. I smiled," Hi , Jade how are you? " She blushed and hid in her mothers arms.
I saw her emotions, and against my will, I tapped into the anxiety. I saw her squirm. I sent warm emotions her way. She turned to face me. " good." was all she said. Her mother whispered to her," Honey, why don't you go outside and show Mist and Majie your new talent. " Jade toddled towards me and grabbed my hand. We walked outside with her keeping a stream of babble and she looked up to me and put her hands up. I picked her up and she motioned for me to throw her. " No, Jade, I can't throw you, I'm not strong enough" I lied, because I knew she would keep asking for me to do that . She always had a method to her ,madness. She was a very smart girl .
Then she did something amazing, she motioned to Mist. " Up" She smiled. Mist reluctantly picked her up. She motioned for him to throw her. He didn't even think about it. But I also saw him send air with her to protect her. Then just before she fell, wings uncurled from her body and she flew upward. She had butterfly wings. They stretched out to an 8 ft wing span. They were beautiful. Then I felt the ground beneath me leave and I floated up to her with the air Mist had . Jade looked surprised to see me there but quickly disregarded it and we danced. I'm not sure why, but we decided to dance in air.
I looked down at Mist smiling. I saw my family staring at us in awe. Mist put me down and Jade followed. I went inside and saw Alex and Garnet. Jade ran off to see someone. I nodded to Alex. He nodded back and that was the extent of our conversation. I left and went to see Chloe and Mindy.
