Hey guys!
Ummmm, so I know that I'm a few chapters into the book, but I ended up changing a few of the characters names.
Nathan (Nate) Adams to James (Jamie) Valentine. Also Blanka (Blank) Evens to Olivia (Liv) Dove
Just wanted to let you know so that you weren't confused. Hope you enjoy
(Liv's POV)
The next couple of hours of my life passed by in a blur. For some reason I had agreed to a couple of things that Jamie and Megan had offered after I had finally relaxed
1.) Move into Jamie's house (under Jamie's request)
2.) Allow Megan to go to my house and pick up some of my clothes (Again at Jamie's request)
and
3.) Think about giving them the child that was growing inside of me
That last one, was not one that I was comfortable with at all
This baby...my baby was the only person that I could truly count on. My aunt use to be my constant and now I was left a single mother, with two people that desperately wanted a child. From what I understood, Jamie came from a long line of men that couldn't naturally have children. He had gone to a specialist, hoping that they could somehow help him. They took some samples to test them out and found out that he could
Then something happened...I didn't really pay attention
Now, I silently sat in the front seat of a car, waiting for Jamie to get back from filling the tank
I replayed today's events, over and over again, trying to make some sense of what I called my life
I was so out of it, that I hadn't even realized that Jamie had hopped back in the car and was talking to me about something
"I'm sorry, what did you say?" I asked, turning to face him
Jamie smiled and turned on the car
"I asked you what you thought the baby would be...a boy or a girl" He smiled, looking at the road in front of him
"Oh" I said, pulling my feet up on the seat "I don't know. Honestly, I hadn't really thought about it. What do you want it to be?" I asked him
The smile on his face didn't falter or cease. If anything, it only grew brighter and stronger
"A girl...a beautiful baby girl. She could have your eyes and my dark hair. We could name her Olive or Clementine. Maybe Jacqueline and we could call her Jack. Bella, Royal, Kendra, Letha, Mavis, or oh, I know...Ebony" He smiled, looking down at me with twinkling hazel orbs
My head shot up, as I looked into his eyes
"Ebony?" I asked
Jamie shrugged his shoulders
"I've always like that name...it has a special ring to it...don't you think?" He asked, stopping at a red light
I smiled, looking straight ahead
"Yeah" I whispered "Ebony was my mom's name" I told him
Jamie looked back down at me
"Really?" he asked me, pressing on the pedal
I nodded my head
"Yeah"
"Ebony it is" He smirked, turning a corner
We pulled into his drive through. He unbuckled his seat belt and turned his body towards me
"Were you two close?"
I looked up and smiled
"I never met her. She died the day I was born. It was just me and my dad for the longest time. Then, when I turned 5, he died in a car accident. My aunt Tania ended up taking me in. She and my uncle didn't like my dad too much...I never knew why. She and my mom lost touch after my mom got married to my dad" I told him, not understanding why it was that they hated a man, that was nothing but kind to me
"Do you miss him? Your dad I mean" He asked, focusing soley on me
I sighed
"Everyday. I'm sure my life would be completely different if he were here today. I wouldn't be pregnant with a married man's baby, I would probably be in school, with 2...no 3 step siblings. I would actually know what my mom was like, I would most likely have a boyfriend...maybe be working. I'm not too sure"
Silence consumed the car
"I'm sorry" Jamie whispered "that you're pregnant with a married man's baby...but I'm not sorry its you. If anything, I'm happy that it's you. I know that's horrible to say, but you seem like a good person with a good heart. If my baby turns out anything like you...I'll be very thankful" he told me, looking into my eyes
I had to look away. There was something in his hazel eyes that was made my insides melt and belly flutter
I heard him chuckle and then sigh
"Come on...lets get inside. I'm hungry and Emily is probably going crazy" he smiled, opening his door to get out
Before I had even turned to my door, he seemed to swiftly make his way to my side of the car. He quickly opened my door and helped me out of the car
"Thank you" I mumbled
He smiled and nodded his head
"Come...I should probably give you the grand tour" we approached the front door. As Jamie reached out for the handle, the door snapped open, only to expose Emily with a frown on her face
She looked up at her uncle, connecting their hazel to brown. Then she looked over at me. He frown instantly disappeared, while her eyes lit up
"OLIVIA!" She shouted, throwing her arms around my waist and hugging me tightly to her "I missed you so much!" She giggled, resting her chin on my belly as she looked up at me
I giggled and kneeled down to hug her properly
"I missed you too Emmy"
"Love, Liv will be staying with us for a long while" Jamie spoke, looking down at us with a smile that reached his eyes
Emily's eyes widened and then she giggled loudly clapping her hands
"Finally! Someone to have on my side against the witch!" She smirked evilly
"Emily" Jamie spoke sternly, raising an eyebrow and crossing his arms in front of his chest
"Yes...uncle James" she mimicked him
I tried to contain my laughter, but the scene in front of me was just too cute
"What have I told you about referring to Megan like that?" Jamie asked
Emily slouched her shoulders and huffed
"That its rude and uncalled for" she spoke as if she were reading it out of a textbook
"And?"
"And I need to mind my manners" she looked down at the floor
"Mmmhm"
"And that she is my...family and I need to treat her as such" the brown haired beauty slowly kicked a small rock on the ground, not looking up at her uncle
"Exactly. So no more name calling...okay?" He asked, keeping his eyes on Emily
"Mm" she mumbled
"Okay?" He asked again
"K"
"Okay" he smiled, leaning down and picking her up easily
Emily giggled as Jamie softly squeezed her sides
"No uncle Jamie!" She giggled as he tickled her "no! No! Help me Liv!" The little girl shouted
I took a step forwards only to have Jamie turn on me and chaise after me
"No!" I giggled, feeling his fingers softly squeeze my own sides "Jamie no, no, no stop" I laughed, squirming around like a fish out of water
My laughter only increased as his hands made contact with my bare sides
"Please! Please stop!" I begged, losing my balence and falling back on the couch behind me
He had managed to wrap his arms around my head to keep it from banging against anything
I felt no part of his body touch me. I only had his arms on either side of my face, holding himself up
Jamie balenced himself on one arm, as he brought his other hand up to my face. He used his fingers go softly brush the few lose strands away from my eyes
"Are you alright?" He asked me, looking into my eyes as his warm skin made contact with mine
"Great...I'm great" I chocked out, noticing the green specks that decorated his honey colored orbs
"Are you sure?" He asked, carfully examining my upper body to make sure I wasn't broken "I could have hurt you" he spoke
I giggled, but quickly covered my mouth, noticing that he was honestly worried
"Trust me, I'm perfectly fine" I promised, looking up at him
His strong jaw clenched, displaying his hard jaw line. I was so engulfed by his stunning features, that I hadn't even realizes that it was no longer just me, Jamie, and Emily
"JAMES!" We both heard the roaring voice of his wife
Jamie quickly jumped off of me and fixed himself, as I pushed myself up
"Olivia-" Megan spoke, standing at the door with her arms crossed in front of her "you have a visitor...he said he was a friend of yours. While you two catch up, Jamie, follow me. We have some things to discuss" her voice was low and her eyes dark with both anger and discomfort
I slowly stood up, wondering who had come to see me
"Liv" I heard a familiar voice that had automaticity made my day
I looked past Megan and her stone cold face, to see Shepley's warm smile and sad eyes, ready to emgulf me in his consuming arms
"Shep?" I asked
