Chapter 8
Jessica showed up 10 minutes later looking like she had just ran a marathon.
"hi....um......" she was breathing heavy so she could barley speak.
"hi are you okay? You look like you just ran a marathon what happened?"
She nodded then said "yeah when i got the call that you were in the hospital I ran all the way here"
"but you live like 20 blocks away from the hospital just like me, wait why didn't your mom just drive you?"
".... Because she was at work"
"wow you must be a fast runner you ran like 20 blocks in 10 minutes! You never told me you could run!"
"I never knew I could run!"
Then she gave me a great big hug, when she hugged me like this it always made my day. She pulled away halfway and looked me in the face and said
"what's wrong Lia." she asked sternly Lia was her nickname for me and it took me awhile to get used to it but I loved it now.
" ummm well do you mean hospital or something else?" I smiled hopefully.
"Lia I mean both because you were very weird at school about your mom and then you weren't at school they said that you were sick but I know you better somethings been bothering you and that something lead to the hospital."
"well um here it goes........" with that I told her the events that happened during the past few days. She didn't interrupt once she kept quiet and listened when I was finally done she said " oh my god I'm so sorry Lia I didn't know you should of called me and I could of been helping are you still in shock from the whole thing how do you feel about it ??"
That's what Jessica does she asks lots of questions so she can understand something correctly when she finally does she is happy for learning that but also feeling for that person she is talking to.
"well I'm not really in shock but I am scared I'm not really sure if this is really real but I can tell I need to do something."
"whatever you decide to do i will stick with you and help you no matter what!" she said so seriously I thought she was right but I couldn't let her do that because u don't know who we are dealing with.
" no Jess you can't I don't know who these people are I don't want you getting hurt." Jess is my nickname for her and she always loved it when I called her that.
She smiled and said "Aaliyah Stars Waddell you are my best friend and I hate to see you hurt and I want to hurt these people back for hurting you." now I knew she was serious because she used my full name and she only did that when she wasn't joking anymore and she was all business.
I knew here was no way that I could convince her to not help so I just gave her a big bear hug and said " I love you! You are my best friend ever Jessica Lasen Darewood! " she laughed and said "do you really think that I would let you risk your life without me? You are crazy !" like I said she is very protective of me. With that we started to make a plan for mento get out of the hospital so we could start looking for my mom.
