Jack dragged himself to Ramona's at ten.
"Isn't it a bit late for you?" she said as she welcomed him into her apartment and graciously accepted the long velvet box full of diamonds. "I gave up."
"Had to take care of some things."
"Like Sebastian's cousin?" she drawled smugly, her expression sharp and knowing, no longer vapid.
"You bitch," he whispered.
"But adorably cute," she cooed with a vicious smile.
Jack snatched the diamond bracelet and walked out.
