WARNING: Spoilers ahead for the game Far Cry 4!

Terms from Far Cry 4:

Locations:

Kyrat - Country that serves as the main location in the game. It is tucked into the Himalayas. A civil war between the current king, Pagan Min, and the Golden Path, led by Amita and Sabal is ongoing.

Banapur - Small town that serves as HQ of the Golden Path.

Shangri-La - A fantastical paradise in the folklore of Kyrat myth. Kalinag was assigned to visit it and defeat the demon Rakshasa.

Factions:

Royal Army - Pagan Min's fighters / personal army. Consists of several types of fighters, including hunters, heavy gunners / flame throwers, and more.

Golden Path - Rebel organization founded by Mohan Ghale. They work towards freeing Kyrat from Pagan's wrath. The two leaders are Sabal and Amita, who are constantly fighting.

People:

Ajay Ghale - Main character of the game Far Cry 4. He returns to the land of Kyrat to place his mother's ashes at the sight of Lakshmana. His father is Mohan Ghale.

Sabal - One of the leaders of the Golden Path, believes that tradition is more important than wealth and modernity

Amita - One of the leaders of the Golden Path, believes that a modern and wealthy country is more important than one of tradition.

Pagan Min - King of Kyrat, father to Laskshmana. Became an older-brother figure to Yuma.

Mohan Ghale - Original leader and founder of the Golden Path. Thought to be a great leader and is known throughout Kyrat. Married to Ishwari Ghale.

Ishwari Ghale - Ajay's mom who wishes that Ajay returns her ashes back to Lakshmana. In a fit of rage she kills her husband, Mohan, after he kills her daughter, Lakshmana.

Lakshmana - Child of Ishwari and Pagan Min. She was murdered as a child by Mohan. Within the game, "Lakshmana" was thought by Sabal, Amita, and Ajay to be a shrine.

Yuma Lau - Pagan's close friend who claims that she is the true leader of Kyrat and attempts to overthrow Pagan. Until her death, she served as second in command to Pagan and the Lieutenant General of the Royal Guard and the Warden of Durgesh. She is known for using hallucinogenics and forms of seduction to weaken or disarm her opponent.

Paul De Pleur - One of Pagan's trusted friends and helpers. Paul is a loving father who is in Kyrat as a result of needing a quick way to get money for his family, and will stop at nothing to get that money.

Kalinag - Ancient warrior who fought off demons that were trying to invade Shangri-La. Fought with the Sky Tiger, who died (but later resurrected) protecting Shangri-La.

Yalung - Ancient demon. The "Masks of Yalung" are placed throughout Kyrat as a symbol of bad luck and death.

Bhadra - Known to some as the incarnation of Tarun Matara. She is torn between listening to Sabal and / or Amita. Because of the events of the war, Bhadra is mature for her age and has seen her friends and family die.

Darpan - Ajay's "plus one" according to Pagan Min. When Ajay was taken off the bus to Pagan's palace for the first time, Darpan had been taken with him and attempted to message the Golden Path about Ajay's arrival and asking for help. Darpan is caught sending messages and is taken by Paul De Pleur to be interrogated.

Events:

The death of Mohan Ghale - Though Mohan was a great leader, his attitude towards his wife, Ishwari, was poor. He did not believe that she could successfully do the missions she wished to accomplish. After much pleading, Mohan finally allowed Ishwari to compromise Pagan's palace as an undercover agent. Ishwari falls in love with Pagan and ends up having a child with him-Lakshmana. Mohan finds out about the birth of the child and murders her. Ishwari falls into a fit of rage and kills Mohan. Shortly afterwards, Ishwari flees to America with Ajay (who was a child at that time).

Yuma loses respect for Pagan - Though they loved each other like brother and sister, Yuma came to dislike Pagan shortly after he fell in love with Ishwari Ghale. She states in her journals that Ishwari made Pagan weak after he fell in love. Once Ishwari left to America, Yuma hoped that Pagan would once again become powerful, though he remained the same. As a result, Yuma sought to find another idol, this idol became the legendary Kalinag. She begins searching over Kyrat to find Shangri-La and unlock the secrets of it and Kalinag.

Ajay visits Kyrat - After the death of Ishwari Ghale, Ajay returns to Kyrat in order to spread the ashes of his mother. She tells him that she wishes to be places with Lakshmana. His bus to Kyrat gets shot up by the Royal Army as a result of Golden Path members being aboard. Pagan flies down in his helicopter to greet Ajay (though he is disappointed that the bus had gotten shot up) and takes him to a compound hosted by Paul De Pleur. Ajay escapes with the help of the Golden Path.
