My friend had texted me asking if I was still interested in finding someone for marriage and I told her yes. She told me of this guy in the community who is wanting to get married. His name is Adam, he helps out the youth group at the masjid, he plays sports, is very involved with the masjid, and has a really beautiful recitation voice MashAllah. The only problem was his age, he is still in high school. This was not a problem for me but I didn't know how my father would react to it. So I told her I'll talk to my dad and let her know.
The next day I approached my dad and asked him about it and he said no, he didn't want to give me away to some one so young that has at least 4 years still to get a job and might not be able to provide for me. He would prefer the man to already be in a stable situation, and I didn't want to argue with him so I agreed and let my friend know.
