I stood in front of the house, envelopes in one hand, leash in the other.
Landon took Nala from me. "Thanks again."
"You're welcome."
Pause.
"Alright, well, I guess I gotta go now," he said.
Before he could turn around, I stopped him. "Wait."
"Yeah?"
"Um, if you can... Will you let Julien know we're here? I know Natalie's been wanting to see him."
There was a slight hesitation in his voice. "Uh, yeah. Sure."
I smiled. "Thanks."
"Alright, well. It was nice seeing you."
"Same," I replied, proceeding to add, "Even though you're a bit annoying."
"Oh, shut up." He rolled his eyes, "I could say the same for you."
"Yeah, whatever," I said, returning the eye roll.
He let out a chuckle. "Well, bye, I guess."
He walked away, trudging through the snow into the distance with Nala and Tucker, and I smiled to myself.
