Alpha Grayson’s POV
Did I just hear right? Did that son of a bitch ask my mate out on a date? I have no idea why I’m so annoyed but here I am fuming so much you can see steam escaping my ears. I have Rosie. Why am I so hung up on this girl? Well beside the fact that she’s my mate. I seriously need to get some. But the thought of Rosie is not appealing at this moment. I stormed into the living room and dropped myself heavily on the sofa; letting out a disgruntled sigh.
“Tough day?” Seth questioned, joining me on the sofa. Seth has been my best friend even before I met Rosie. We both became friends when he joined the rogue pack my father created. Yes you heard right, my father created a rogue pack. But I hate to dwell on the past. I’m quite content with the life I’ve created with my new pack.
“You have no idea!” I exclaimed, thinking about the shitty shopping trip I had. Firstly my mate wouldn’t stop flirting, secondly Rosie was irritating, thirdly Darren had his hands all over my mate and fourthly every one of those humans who came up to her, asking for her number just pissed me off. And to make it worse she flirted with each of them until Darren or I chased them away. I think she really enjoys pissing me off.
“Well on the bright side everything went smoothly here” he said.
“Next time I’ll send your ass on the shopping trip and stay here”
Seth chuckled. Just then Adelina entered the living room smiling brightly. Wow, her smile is out of this world. It made her face instantly radiant. I found myself smiling too.
“Hey beautiful” Seth greeted her, and the smile was instantly wiped off my face.
“Hey sexy” she replied and my face was set in a grimace. Ugh this day just went from bad to worse.
“How was the trip?” he asked
“Oh my god it was so much fun. Darren is really fun to be around. He got us kicked out of five stores” she gushed
“Really?”
“Yup. We were in Victoria Secret and he decided it was fun to try on their lingerie, and then asked the customers if it made him look fat. Then when we were in a shoe store he wore five inch stilettoes, modeling around until he broke the heels, and he made me pay for it. He undressed a store’s mannequin then proceeded to touch it in all the wrong places and let me tell you right now it wasn’t a female mannequin.”
“Wow, you had one eventful day” Seth said “And that totally sounds like something Darren would do. He’s crazy like that”
“I know right” she replied, smiling at her memories. And again I found myself staring at her smile.
“So I was wondering if you wanted to go out with me tomorrow. Maybe we can go to the movies or something” Seth asked, sounding slightly nervous, and Seth’s never nervous. Really, is every unmated guy in my pack going to ask my mate out? Unconsciously a dangerous snarl escaped my lips causing both heads to look at me. I tried covering it up with a cough but Adelina had an amuse look on her face. I glared at her.
“Oh Alpha Grayson I didn’t see you there” she said looking surprised but I know very well she’s faking it. She seems to be enjoying my discomfort. She then turned to Seth “I’m sorry Seth but Darren already asked me out” she looked genuinely apologetic.
“Oh” was all he said looking downcast.
Are you just gonna sit there and let a bunch of inferior pussies asked her out. My wolf snarled
I have Rosie; I don’t care who the hell she chooses to date, or what the hell happens to her.
Then you’re a bigger pussy than both of them. At least they had the guts to ask her out.
I don’t want to ask her out.
Grow a pair you stupid fucker. When will you realize Rosie is useless? He shot back getting more aggravated. Honestly I’m just as worn out with these arguments about my mate.
I didn’t ask for your opinion.

Will you please just shut up? I’m tired of the repetition. All you talk about is my mate this, and our mate that. It’s sickening.
It will be my pleasure to shut up Alpha. My wolf said. I can’t stand speaking to a huge jackass like you anyway.
Whose side are you on? You’re supposed to be backing me up.
He scoffed. Backing you up? Please my mate’s wolf calls me, it haunts me every day and I will not stop until I have her. If that means destroying your little booty call with that witch.

I snapped out of my internal battle to see Seth and my mate watching me warily. “What?” I asked
“You had this really funny look on your face, and you were growling like you were crazy” Adelina said
“Oh, I was just thinking”
“And that was your thinking face. Hilarious”
“Oh shut it” I said, the corners of my mouth turning up.
“Baby” Rosie whined entering the room. I frown at her.
“What?” I asked, slightly agitated.
“I have surprise for you. Come to the room.”
I looked up at her and she was pouting which didn’t look attractive at all. I can’t believe I thought it was striking. She’s not as beautiful as Adelina. She doesn’t have half of the mystery and spontaneity Adelina has. Great now I’m comparing them. I looked to Adelina and her brows were furrowed and she wore a sad expression on her face. All I wanted to do was smooth out the worry lines and kiss away the sad countenance. Stupid mate connection. I can’t wait for her to leave, so I won’t have to worry about her anymore.
It won’t be that easy. My wolf taunted. Sometimes I wish I was a mortal, and the voices in my head would just die. Especially my wolf.
Adelina’s POV
Overall the shopping trip had been a success. I had a fun time, I gained a new friend, and hearing Alpha Grayson growled menacingly at every guy who came my way was just a bonus. At least I know his heart isn’t made completely out of stone. He just left Seth and me in the living room to go enjoy his ‘surprise’ with his bitch. I don’t really know why I hate her so much, it’s not like she knows we’re mates. But I can’t help it; I hate very bone and muscle in her body.
Seth sat beside me quietly, playing with his fingers “So you wanna go for a run?”
“Sure that sounds like fun. I feel like letting the animal out”
“Yeah well let’s go before we both hear something we don’t want to hear” and I know he was referring to Alpha Grayson and Rosie.
“Are they always at it?” I asked
“It was much worse when they first started going out”
“Good to know” I said sadly. I felt my heart clench just thinking about him sleeping with someone else. “Well let’s go” I said walking out the door.
We ran until the sun set, just playing around. Seth showed me around their borders, and I saw a couple of other wolves on my way. Seth and I were now walking back towards the main house.
“So are you joining us for dinner tonight?” I asked when we stopped by the front door.
“Actually, I have to run patrol tonight so no”
“Ok then. Well good night Seth”
“Good night Lina” he said, brushing his lips against my cheeks.
I was smiling when I entered the house. For almost a year I had no one, and now I had two people I can depend on, and that made me happy.
“What are you smiling at?” Alpha Grayson asked when I entered the kitchen.
“I’m Happy” I simply said “Where’s Rosie?” I asked looking around the kitchen
“She’s asleep.” I just nodded “You don’t like her much do you?” he asked, looking intently at me.
“Am I supposed to Alpha Grayson?” I asked incredulously “Why ask a question if you already know the answer”
“Do you hate her because of the person she is, or is it because I chose her?”
Unbelievable. Un- fucking-believable. “Alpha Grayson just this once put yourself in my position, if I chose Seth over you, would you hate him because of the person he is or because I chose to be with him, even when I know you’re my mate. You’d hate him because I’ll be giving myself to him and not you”
“I would not. I don’t want you to be my mate. I don’t like you, so I don’t really care if you chose Seth” he spat. I laughed humorlessly.
“Bullshit! That’s a fucking lie oh great Alpha. You know you hate it when I flirt, you hate the fact that other guys give me attention” I seethed.
“That because of the fucking connection. My wolf wants you; I on the other hand wish I didn’t find you. You just unnecessary baggage. I love Rosie” Burn! That one hurt.
“Trust me Alpha Grayson if I could’ve trade you in for Seth or Darren I would’ve. You’re selfish, arrogant, self-centered and I can’t stand you”
“And you’re a slut who can’t even go a day without flirting”
“You call me a slut, when you should be checking your girlfriend”
He advanced on me breathing heavily, his body was a couple of inches away from me, and he glared at me “You will not speak of her that way” He boomed in his alpha tone. I would’ve quickly bowed down to him but it didn’t have an effect on me.
I snorted “You really think I give a shit about what I say about your little slut” I said raising my voice to match his.
“You will respect her!” he demanded “Remember whose territory you’re on. You’re not in Redwood anymore. You live in my territory, you’ll follow my rules”
“Or what?” I challenged
“I’ll get my guards to take care of you”
I grunted, he’s a bigger dummy than I thought. Take care of me, what is he a mobster. “I dare you Alpha Grayson” I said, willing him to call his guards to take care of me. “Go on Alpha, I have nothing to live for anyway, I have nothing to lose”
“So what about your sister?” he asked
“I don’t know what you’re talking about” I said steadfastly.
“Please spare me the lies. I heard the conversation you had with Darren” he said
“So now you’re keeping tabs on me?” I spat
“No. I was just in hearing range” I said
“Whatever!” I exclaimed feeling overwhelmed from our argument. “I’m going to bed” I mumbled, walking away from him, but he held unto my wrist pulling me back to him.
His face was inches from mine, and I could feel his sweet breath caress my face as he breathes “You will respect Rosie” he said not moving his face. My heart accelerated from the close proximity of our lips. Seriously this dude literally called me a slut, and tells me I have to respect that stupid bitch and all I can think about is the closeness of our lips.
I willfully closed the distanced and I had the satisfaction of seeing him stiffen. I brought my lips to his ears, blowing softly before whispering “Sooner or later Peter you’ll realize your mistake, but I won’t be around” I bit his earlobe and he shivered involuntarily. “Good night Alpha Grayson” and with that I left, with my heart thrashing wildly in my chest. Why did I do that? Ah hell!
