Now I lay me down to sleep
I pray the lord my body keep
May he take it from this earth
My soul the only thing of worth
May angels watch me through the night
As we leap and take flight
For with them is my simple home
A fact I have forever known
Until we raise the morning light
Waking to it is just a fright
A task we know I can do no more
To wake again is just a chore
But here I lay just barely breathing
As my emotions are seething
I shall not leave this wretched place
That's a victory for that terrible face
