Jisoo let out a heavy sigh of relief when he arrived at his classroom. Their professor hasn't arrived yet,so he has 3-4 minutes left to settle down and compose himself. He chose the chair near the window. As he sat on his chair, three young men and a pretty girl approached him: the first guy was short in height,his hair was blond with a mix of strawberry red on top,with a little scowl on his face, not with annoyance but with curiosity. Next to him was a very tall guy,probably 6'1,with unruly reddish hair,and a very white complexion. Third, was the guy with a playful smirk on his lips, with tall nose and blue hair. He also had tattoo's on his arms, though Jisso doubts that that's the end of it. And lastly the girl who was looking dangerously at the blue-haired guy but when she turned to Jisoo,her expression brightened and she gave him a very sweet smile. He returned the favor by giving her a smile too.
"So your the transferee kid, right?" The blue-haired guy ask.
"I guess I am." He answered timidly.
"Welcome to SCA then!" Cheered the girl with a jump, so that her thick brown hair revealed her pointed ears.
Pointed ears?!! Is she what I think she is? Thought Jisoo to himself,still staring at her with an awed expression.
"Stop staring at her like that." Spat mr.blue-hair at him.
"Oh stop frightening the poor thing! Garich i dhol goll o Orch! (You have a hollow head of an Orc!) Clearly,based from his expression he'd never seen an elf in all of his entire life, have you?" She fumed then turned to Jisoo who nodded his head in agreement.
"But---" continued mr.blue-hair but he was cut short because the short guy raised his hand,saying: "Havo dad(sit down), Ravi. You won't win an argument when your opponent is my sister. Trust me I've tried." At these words, Jisoo noticed that the short guy had the same pointed ears the girl had. "My greatest apologies for the lack of incompetence to control their emotions in front of another person." He said as Jisoo only nodded again for his answer because he was truly sure that he heard the jingling of tiny bells while the short guy was talking to him.
"Allow me to intruduce our small company, my name is Woozi, as you can see I am an elf though the story of our existence can be spared for later. I'll also intruduce to you my sister, Jessica. This blue-haired rascal here is Ravi. And finally our giant friend here is Hyuk, who in pardon can only speak if he wants to. So basically all you can get from him is a nod for Yes, or a shaking of his head from left to right for a No,a pout when he is sad(which he will never show you) and a smile if he is pleased.
Jisoo absorbed the information before he answered, "My full name is Hong Jisoo, but you can call me Joshua since I was born and raised in the U.S for 16 years. Its really nice to meet all of you(he turned to Ravi) and have you for my friends, if that's OK with you." He then raised his hand to Ravi who scowled at him for a moment then looked sideways to Jessica who was giving Ravi a dirty looked before finally accepted his hand and saying sorry to him for the attitude.
Before they could say anything else,the bell rang for the start of class. As they take their seats(Woozi is seating in the chair in front of him,while Jessica took her seat beside him. As for Ravi and Hyuk, they took their seats at the back),a beautiful woman entered the classroom and smiled brightly at them. She was tall but not wiry. She also has short hair that reaches only half-way to her neck with a rich peach color. She was wearing a colorful clash of white and emerald robes(for it was the required fashion of the school. For they want the theme of ancient fashion in the academy)
"Good morning everyone. How wonderful it is to start the day with a pleasant weather. In any case, I would like to introduce my self. My name is Prof. Emmalia Choi SooYoung. I am your mentor in Ancient Arcane which is your second class, but since Prof. Chronodisplacia is not here to teach you Techmaturgy, I will be taking over. So let us begin! Please copy what is written on the board." To Jisoo's facination, a big and quiet thick kind of a notebook appeared in front of him with a bottle of ink and a quill. He touched the moss-colored cover of the notebook and saw its pages were blank (its made from dragon skin whispered Jessica). He then began copying what is written on the board.
Arcane Caster Spell Schools
1. Advance Arcane = various utility spells, in addition to spells that don't fit in the other schools.
2. Primal Arcane = spells enabling the use of the elements to defend allies and damage enemies.
3. Creation Arcane = spells used to cure and defend allies and damage enemies.
4. Spirit Arcane = Utility spells and spells which attack the body and magic of enemies.
5. Entropy Arcane = spells which weaken and cripple enemies.
Five minutes later, Prof. Emma said, "Now, the Advance Arcane school. This is basically the catch-all school, which covers all spells that won't fit in one of the other four schools, while also containing various utility spells. A few examples of spells at this level are Arcane Shield, Time Spiral, Mind Blast, Invigorate, Mystical Negation, and Crushing Prison. Now," pointing her wand at the board, the eraser floated upwards and erased the spell schools, before the chalk began writing again. "Write down these examples, as I'll be erasing them soon."
1. Arcane Shield= a Elite Caster-level shielding spell, sometimes called the Dome of Protection, which is much stronger than the ordinary shielding spells like, Protego and Protego Maxima. It will block not only spells, but projectiles, such as arrows and bullets, as well. Incantation: Praesidium Tholus
2. Time Spiral= a useful spell during dueling, this spell slows down your opponent's perception of time, allowing you to move around and cast several spells before your opponent is aware of it. Incantation: Tempus Spiralis
3. Mind Blast= this spell releases a wave of telekinetic force that knocks enemies backwards and leaves them stunned for several seconds. Incantation: Mentis Discuter
4. Invigorate= a sustained spell which allows a Caster to generate a field of invigorating energy which reduces ally fatigue and speeds up the regeneration rates of their magical cores, however, the mage using this spell will be unable to cast any other spells while this spell remains active, as maintaining it requires unbroken concentration. Incantation: Corrobarare
5. Mystical Negation= a sustained spell which allows a Caster to generate a field of energy which dispels any dispelable magical effects created by enemy spellcasters. The mage retains the ability to cast spells while using this spell. Incantation: Negatio

6. Crushing Prison, this spell traps the target in a collapsing cage of telekinetic force for ten seconds, dealing physical damage and preventing them from moving or casting spells. Incantation: Contusio Carceris
Now, while I have provided you with the incantations for these spells," Emma said, "I strongly suggest that none of you even consider attempting to cast them. None of you are currently Elite Caster level and they are, quite frankly, beyond your abilities. If I, or any of the other prof., catches you attempting these spells, there will be serious consequences that you will not enjoy. Do I make myself clear?"
Once everyone indicated that they understood, Emma nodded and said, "Alright then, let's move on. The next school is the Primal Arcane school, which deals with the elements of fire, earth, water, and air. As you already know, your magic resonates with one of these elements and you will find it
much easier to cast spells that deal with your specific elements, while you will find it harder to cast spells in the opposing element. Fire opposes water and air opposes earth.
Jisoo quietly agreed to this for when he attempted to cast offensive spells, he mostly conjure fire attributed spells. Not like the other elements that he tries,(which end up in a disaster) fire seems to be his friend.
"This school contains a variety of spells which allow a caster to lessen the effect of the elements on themselves and their allies and also to attack their opponents. Now, when it comes to offense, this is one of the most powerful schools, containing both targeted spells that are cast on a single target and spells which affect multiple targets. Some of the more spectacular spells affecting multiple targets are often referred to as area of effect spells, as they affect a wide area of space and will harm anyone who enters the area. Now for some examples," Emma said as the board erased again before the chalk began writing by itself again.
1. Fireball, the mage unleashes an exploding ball of fire which scatters and burns their opponents. Incantation: Ignis Globus
2. Firestorm, the mage calls forth a devastating shower of flames that blast down on the target area, damaging everything within. Incantation: Incendium Tempestus
3. Stonefist, the mage creates a fist-shaped stone and hurls it at an enemy, basically allowing them to punch them from a distance. This spell can kill if the target has been frozen solid, as it may cause the target to shatter. Incantation: Saxum Pugnus
4. Earthquake, the mage disrupts the earth, causing a violent quake that knocks everyone in the area to the ground. Incantation: Concussionis
5. Deep Freeze, the mage summons forth a cone of cold and ice, harming anyone in its path, with the added possibility of freezing them solid. Incantation: Conglaciatus
6. Blizzard, the mage calls forth a massive storm of ice and snow, which deals continuous cold damage, while also making it harder to see and has the potential of freezing targets solid. Incantation: Tempestus Nix
7. Chain Lightning, the mage shoots a bolt of lightning at a single target, electrocuting them, before the lightning arcs outwards and electrocutes nearby targets. Incantation: Vinculum Fulminus
8. Tempest, the mage conjures a massive electrical storm, which sends bolts of electricity crashing to the ground, electrocuting any target they hit. Incantation: Fulminus Tempestus
"Obviously, these are all offensive spells," Emma said. "When the time comes, you will also be learning the defensive side of the Primal Arcane school, but for the purpose of today's examples, I've given you two examples of spells dealing with each element. Fireball and Firestorm, obviously, deal with fire, while Stonefist and Earthquake are earth, Deep Freeze and Blizzard are water, and Chain Lightning and Tempest are the air element. There are many more spells than the ones I've listed, but this is just to give you an idea."
At this point, Woozi raised his hand, prompting Emma to point at him and ask, "Yes, Mr.ShaleSnow?" "All of those examples seem very dangerous," Woozi said. "Especially in a battle situation. Is there a way to prevent these spells from harming your allies?"
"A good question, Mr. ShaleSnow," Emma said. "And the answer is yes. In my opinion, any Elite Caster who uses any damaging area of effect spell without insuring that said spell can't harm noncombatants or their allies is being highly irresponsible and should have both their wand and staff snapped and their cores blocked. Now, as to how they can insure their harmful spells don't affect their allies, a Caster can place a mark on them, rather much like a tattoo or a brand, which serves to protect that person from any harmful magic cast by the person who placed it. This doesn't mean, however, that you will be covered in tattoos, as the actual mark fades from normal view within seconds of being placed and will only reveal itself if a spell to reveal magical effects is cast. Also, only the Elite Caster who placed the mark is capable of removing their mark, so it can't be dispelled in the heat of battle by opponents."
Raising his hand and waiting to be called on, Jisoo then asked,rather shyly, "Excuse me miss but what do you mean when you said 'the cores will be blocked'? Actually I would really like to ask, what is a core?"
"You are the transferee right, Mr.---?"
"Hong" Jisoo said with a nod.
"Well Mr.Hong, I assumed that no one in your old school told you about the Core topic, am i right?"
Jisoo answered "yes" but it sounded like a whisper to him.
"Hmmmm. Well then,as an answer to your question, the core is were your arcane power is coming from. It is located at the very center of your soul. As young casters, elders advised you young people to use wands and rune gloves because they can minimize the amount of energy you are spending when you cast a spell,so that you will not over use your core. That's why this academy is built for you young casters to train you in spell casting. For while you train and study, the power of your core also develop. That is why you can see casters using staffs because their wands can't handle the magic that they spend although they are very skilled without it, a simple spell from them can do a great deal of damage. On the other hand, there are five types of spell casters: first, the charmers who can only do basic spells, second is the spell-dwellers, which is your status now,third is the magi, powerful enough to cast those spells you have written a while ago,although it may greatly exhaust them. Fourth is the Elite Casters and finally Grand Royale who is the most powerful of all. So, does that answer to your question?" Emma asked Jisoo with a kind smile. "No and thank you very much mam." Jisoo answered.
"Is there any more question you wanna ask?" Emma said while scanning the class. Before anyone can answer, the bell rang. This earned a lot of groans from the students. Emma only smiled then said," Well everyone you can now have your lunch. Don't be sad! You will come back here after that!" Emma laugh.
So the students hurried to the corridor and into the giant dining hall.
"Wanna join us for lunch?" Asked Ravi who was looking at another direction. "Sure thing!" Jisoo answered as all five of them headed to the dining hall..
