I wait anxiously at the airport. My heart was beating rapidly as I just stood there. waiting. My boyfriend was coming back after six months of being on another continent.
It was me and my two best friends, Halston and Lexa. Halston has been in an on and off relationship with Ashton Irwin from 5 Seconds of Summer while I have been in a one year relationship with his band mate, Luke Hemmings. The three of us were waiting for their flight to land from the UK. They were finally coming back to Australia after being the opening act for One Direction on their Take Me Home tour.
While walking around, we found Ashton's mum, sister, and little brother.
"Hallie!" Ash's brother shouted while running towards Halston. That was what he would always call her.
"Hey Harry!" She replied, giving him a big hug and rubbing his shaggy blonde hair. Harry was like a mini Ashton, it was so adorable. Halston and Harry had a great relationship, Harry loves her.
"When Ashton comes home, we're gonna have a party for them. Are you coming?" The little innocent boy asked Hal.
"I know and yes, I am coming but be quiet about it, it's a surprise."
After such a long time without them, we were happy they were coming back home to Australia so Halston, Lexa, Calum's sister, and I were setting up a Welcome Home surprise party for the boys. Ashton's mum was nice enough to let it be held at her house.
We run towards the giant window seeing a plane land outside and wondering if it was the boys. There were around 30-40 fans at the airport waiting as well and they started going crazy.
"Is that them?"
"Oh my gosh I can't believe this!"
"I'm freaking out!"
"It's 5 Seconds of Summer!"
That's all we could hear while we waited to see if they came out of that plane. I didn't care that the fans were there, I understand it was exciting. I just needed to see Luke already.
The people in the plane were released and I waited, motionless, waiting to see my love after six months. More and more people kept piling out, I was looking for one person, why wasn't he anywhere. Halston and Lexa stood on my side, as nervous as I was. We held each others hands and squeezed tight when we saw the four tired Australian boys walk out.
Their eyes lock on us and we run towards each other, I wasn't able to take my eyes off of Luke. After six months, I could finally hug my boyfriend again. The minute our bodies collided, it was like we would never be able to separate. I tried so hard not to cry but I couldn't help it, I started to cry like a baby.
"Awwe beautiful girl, don't cry." Luke said wiping a tear off my cheek and putting me back into a hug.
"I've missed you so much."
"I've missed you too. Kaysee, I don't know how I got through those six months without you."
He hugged me tighter, I've missed those hugs, the ones where it just said 'I love you'. The way he held me, the way he wrapped his arms around me, it made me feel like I was finally home, in his arms.
He looked straight into my eyes. Looking into those blue eyes just made me melt. He grabbed my face and pulled me into a long waited kiss. A kiss that I have missed for so long. It was warm and gentle, so sweet. To run my fingers through his short blond hair made my heart race, it's been so long. This moment was perfect, it was all I wanted, he was all I wanted.
"Okay you two lovebirds, we have to keep this a G rated airport." Ashton joked. We both laughed and let go of each other.
"And Ash, I've missed you!" I said, giving Ashton a hug.
"I've missed you too. It felt weird not having you next door." Ashton said.
Ashton and I have lived next door to each other since I was born, aka my whole life and when Ashton was two. We've been best friends ever since.
I felt hands go over my eyes and heard a familiar voice, "Guess whooo!"
"Calum!"
"Awwe, how'd you know?" Cal smiled while taking his hands off of my eyes.
"How could I not know it was you," I said turning around to him and putting my arms out for a hug, "I've missed you."
"Missed you too, Kaysee." Calum smiles, accepting my hug.
"Kayseeeeeeee!!!!!"
"Michaellllllll!!!!!"
Michael came running to me and took me into a big hug.
"I've missed you my Walking Dead watching buddy!"
"I've missed you too!" I laugh. Michael and I would always watch the Walking Dead together. It was our favorite show and that's how the two of us because such good friends.
We all caught up with the boys and then they went to go meet some fans who patiently waited. They took pictures and met fans for about a half an hour then we went our way to Ashton's house. Since all the boys' families were here at the airport, some of our friends were at Ashton's house getting the surprise party ready for us.
Luke and his mum, Liz, rode in the car with Lexa and me. Halston rode with Ashton's family, and Calum and Michael both rode with their families. Lexa drove, Liz was in the passenger seat and Luke and I were in the back of Lex's car.
"I'm really glad to finally see you again." Luke said taking my hand and kissing me on the forehead, "I've missed you."
"I've missed you too, I'm glad you're back."
Luke smiled and placed his hand on my knee.
"Careful there, I know it's been six months but don't be getting all handsy." Luke's mother joked. We all laughed as Luke blushed.
"So why are we all going to Ashton's house?" Luke asked.
"So we can all catch up, its been forever." I said, keeping the surprise party a secret.
"Yeah, we want to just sit around and hear all your adventures in the UK." Lexa played along. We all sucked at keeping things secret. Halston probably blabbed to Ashton already. If not, I'm sure Harry couldn't hold it in. We were all just too happy for the boys to be back home.
"It was epic! The people there were so welcoming and kind. The 1D boys were great, some of my best friends now." Luke reminisced with a smile forming. "It is so different over there yet somewhat like home. I don't even know what to expect when we go to America!"
Oh right, they are going to America soon. I mean, I knew this but it just hit me coming out of Luke's mouth. I got through the six months without him, I should be able to get through them leaving for just a bit longer. I guess Luke could tell I was worried about him leaving again.
"Don't worry babe, we still have right now. I'm not leaving for a while." He reassured and gave me a kiss.
"Thank you love," I smiled, "So I've heard you have some new songs. Can we hear them now?" I asked Luke with my sweet smile he always falls for.
"Ah, Kays, you know I can't say no to that smile!"
"Exactly, that's why I'm using it against you!"
"Oh! Blackmail! You're blackmailing me with your beautiful smile! I see how it is!" Luke said and started to tickle me.
"Stop! Stop it!" I shouted between laughs.
"No! This is what blackmailers get!"
"Luke! I can't breathe!" I said still laughing and gasping for air.
"Okay, settle down you two." Liz said. Luke listened to his mum and stopped tickling me.
"Thank You!" I said to Luke's mum.
"Blackmailer." Luke whispered. I elbowed him in the arm.
After a few minutes, we pulled up to Ashton's house. We could tell Calum's family and Ashton's family, as well as Halston, were already there. We walk up to the door and open it to everyone shouting "LUKE!!!!!!" when he walked through the door.
"What? What is this?!" Luke said with a smile forming after he saw all his friends and family in front of him.
"It's a party! For us! Don't we have some of the epicest people in our lives!" Calum walked towards us..
"This is amazing, you're all amazing!" Luke smiled.
We all walked over to the couch, Luke guided me to sit on his lap.
"So what did my beautiful girl do while I was gone?" He asked me.
"Uhm, lets see, I went to Paris with Hal and Lex, then Lexa found this hot french man and they fell in love and will get married. Then we were stole a magical unicorn and we flew back here to Australia for you guys to come home." I said sarcastically.
"Oh, wow. That must have been an amazing time without me." Luke played along, laughing.
"Yes," I said laughing as well, "but on a serious note, I just sat here counting down the days til you came back."
"Oh, well you're at zero days." Luke smiled and wrapped his arms around me while resting his chin on my shoulder.
"Guys! Michael's here! Get ready!" Calum's sister, Mali, said in a hushed tone to everyone.
We all got quiet right before Michael opened the door and everyone shouted "MICHAELLLLL!!!"
"What the hell, what is this?!" Michael said smiling.
"It's a Welcome Home party for you guys!" I said smiling and walking over to Michael who was still standing at the front door.
"Damn, we have the best friends and family ever!" Michael laughed.
"Okay, every ones here! Let's make a toast!" Mali said lifting her drink in the air. Luke, Michael, and I got some soda and joined in. "Calum, Luke, Michael, Ashton, these six months without you four has been practically hell. You are all like my brothers, even though Calum is my only biological one. You four are some cool kids and I am glad you're back here with us. Love you guys! So here's to our boys coming back home!" Mali raised her glass higher to cling it with others.
We turned the playlist Mali and I made on and started this party. After a few good tunes, Thunder by Boys Like Girls came on.
"May I have this dance?" Luke said smiling and putting his hand out.
"Yes you may." I smiled and took his hand. He pulled me close and we danced.
This was our song. It was the song that played when Luke and I first kissed. It was our first date. He took me to the park where there was a big party going on at night. Lanterns glowed through the whole park, I was wearing my white sundress with flip flops and Luke was in a t-shirt and shorts. The song started blaring through the speakers and Luke knew they were my favorite band. He took my hand to slow dance, and we did. His eyes were so blue, he was so perfect. I could tell he was nervous about something but I didn't know what it was and I didn't really think about it because the moment was just too wonderful. Right when the song went to the chorus for the second time, he leaned in and kissed me. It lasted a good few seconds but it felt like hours. I felt like we were the only two there, nothing else happening around me mattered, it was perfect.
"So do you remember this song?" Luke reminisced.
"Yes, from our first date." I smiled.
"And our first kiss. You have no idea how nervous I was."
"Awwe, why? It was amazing."
"You just looked so beautiful and I wanted to kiss you all night."
"Well I think you chose the perfect time to do it." I smiled and gave Luke a small peck on the lips. The song ended and we let go of each other when a more up beat song started playing.
I went over to the snack bar where Mali was as well.
"You and Luke are sure an adorable couple." Calum's older sister said to me.
"Thanks." I smiled.
"I can't believe you two have been together for more than a year now."
"I know! It's crazy."
"It seems like you've been together longer, you guys always look so in love." Mali said. This made me smile, Luke was my love.
After two hours of partying and socializing and hearing about how it was like in the UK, the party was coming to an end. People started leaving, Halston, Lexa, Mali, and I started cleaning up.
"I guess I'll be on my way home. Thank you all so much for this." Michael said to us.
"Bye, Michael. Glad you guys are back." I said to him while giving him a hug.
"I think I'll be going soon too. Thank you love, for everything." Luke said giving me a hug.
"Thank you for everything. You are the most amazing boyfriend ever." I smiled. He gave me a kiss and him and Michael both left.
"Mali, are you going to be ready to go home soon?" Calum asked his sister.
"Yeah, we got most of it cleaned up so far." Mali replied to her brother.
"You can go, we can clean the rest." Halston said.
"Are you sure? Calum can wait just a little longer if you need my help still."
"Yeah Mali, go. We got it." Halston smiled.
"Okay, bye lovelies!" Mali said to us, giving each of us a hug.
"Bye guys, thanks again for everything." Calum said to us before him and his sister walked out.
"Okay, I think the place looks clean again." Lexa said throwing the last bit of trash away.
"Are you going to be leaving soon?" Ashton asked all of us while walking into the room.
"Yeah I think Hal and I should get going." Lexa said.
"Okay, thank you for all of this, it was amazing." Ashton said giving them both individual hugs and kissing Halston goodbye.
"Bye Ash, bye Kays!" Lexa and Halston both said.
"I think I'll head home as well." I said to Ashton, grabbing my things.
"Okay, thank you to you too. This meant so much to me, it meant so much to all of us." Ashton said hugging me.
"No problem, you guys deserved it. Welcome home."
After that, I went to my house which was on the right side of Ashton's. I was glad the boys were home, I was so happy to see them after such a long time.
