Chapter 2
I'm so mad at peeta. He had me seduced! That should tbe illegal in Panem!!! Like really having your former best friend who LOVED you hear you. God I'm going to kill peeta!
It's Monday today. On these days me and peeta usually sell bread at the hob so that's where I'm headed now.
"Hey...catnip..." Says the one and only Gale Hawthorne.
"Hey...What's up" I say in an attempt to make a conversation.
"So you and...mellark huh?"
"Yea I guess"
"You two in a serious relationship or what?" Is he freaking serious? We moved in with each other! and he knows it!
"Yes gale, we are" I state simply annoyed.
"Sorry just wanted to know.."
"Know what?" I demanded
"Well it's a bit embarrassing..." Oh no that's it I'm killing peeta.
"Well when you declined my request to stay with you so I asked the drunk." He said a bit embarrassed.
"He accepted so I was chatting with him and a hear a voice very similar to yours screaming these ridiculous things that which changed the way I thought of you actually." He said while scratching the back of his head awkwardly.
"Ok?" This is it he's going to say it. Maybe I'm still considered mental and won't be taken away for killing peeta?
"Anyways I have some... Ideas of what you done but... Care to explain?"
"Pshhh... Me and peeta doing those things? No..." I said hoping he wouldn't ask for more of an explanation.
"Then what were you doing?" Asks gale clearly interested.
"We...meaning peeta and I were..."I trailed off trying to stall.
"Katniss! Stop trying to stall me! I want to know!"
Then at this horrible moment of all people peeta has to come!
"Hey honey bun!" Says peeta making this even weirder.
I give peeta the 'knock it off ' look. He seemed not to notice gale because he slightly looked confused.
"Katniss are you mad at me? You're not pregnant are you?!"
I mentally faced palmed myself. Now gale has more of a clue of what we did!
"Hey peeta" says gale looking quite shocked.
"OHHHH...hey galarino! Didn't see you there. Anyways, how long we're you there?"
"A while..." Says gale probably wasn't expecting the nickname peeta thought for him.
"So what were you and katniss doing yesterday?" Asks gale
Why does he have to be so curious!?
"Me and...katniss?" Says peeta probably thinking of something.
I had to act fast! So I said the first thing that came to my head...
"WE WERE BAKING FOR THE POOR!!" I scream earning me some glares.
"You were? At midnight and you had to be screaming these crazy stuff?" Asks gale questionably.
"It was peeta who was acting like a child..."
" I do not katniss!" Says peeta like a child which proves my point.
" well we have to go now! We finished selling all the bread" says peeta trying to leave.
"See you guys soon then?..." Says gale.
Gale soon leaves and we are left alone.
"Galarino? Really?" I asked
" I panicked babe." Says peeta witha smirk.
"No don't you dare give me that smirk or call me that! What if there is paparazzi near?!"
"So?" We are together aren't we?"
"People don't have to know that!"
"Whatever...babe" there's that smirk on his face again.
"Peeta!"
"Fine...babe" This time he couldn't control his laughter.
I angrily stomped my way back home leaving peeta behind.
"Kat-katniss! Don't leave me all alone! What if someone kidnaps me?!" He says running to me.
Such a baby he is sometimes!
I continue to walk home ignoring the adult child peeta.
Once I reach home I take off my shoes and go to bed to relax. Eventually I fall asleep.
"Katniss" peeta calls. Gently he shakes me awake.
His piercing ocean blue eyes meet mine. I pull him towards me and kiss him.
"I'm sorry peets. I just don't like attention." I say honestly.
"It's my fault katniss...I do act like a child sometimes and it was my fault so I'm sorry"
"It's fine peeta"
"Um...by the way you're mother called."
"My mother!!?? What did she want?"
"She is on the phone now...waiting to talk to you you don't have to- I can tell you are sleeping?" Suggests peeta.
"Um no it's fine, I'll talk to her.."
I slowly walk down stairs staring at the phone on the table, can't have my mother waiting too long. This might be my last chance to talk to her...
I pick up the phone.
"Hello..."
"Katniss! Is that you!?"
"Yes mother..."
"Katniss, peeta picked up the phone...are you together..?!"
"Um...yes?"
I had to move the phone from my ear because of her squealing.
"Katniss! I'm so happy for you two! Are you married?! Are you going to have kids!?"
"Mother, no and not too sure"
"Did you guys you know..."
I had to blush from that...
"Mother!!"
"Oh my god it's a yes!! My daughter is in love!"
"How the- how did you know that!? I didn't even tell you yes or no!"
"Katniss I'm you're mother... I know you better than you know your self."
"Um ok?"
"Give me the details!"
"Mother!! Since when did you get this girly?!"
"I had to come out of my bubble sooner or later"
"Ok?"
"Anyway tell me the details!!"
"No- it's embarrassing!"
"Ohh I'm intrigued"
"Well I um was taking a shower... And peeta was there...naked only coverage was a loaf..."
"oh my"
"anyways we did it...
"what's so embarassing?"
"gale came back an over heard us.."
"well, it's sounds like your having fun in 12. Lots of it..."
"I have to go now mom... Call me more often love you" I said holding back tears.
"love you too Katniss...I'll call back soon!"
Then I hanged up.
