Make Believe

When you were little, do you remember playing make believe? You were a princess and your friend was a dragon, or you were a knight, trying to save the girl you had a crush on. Now you're older, and you play make believe all the time. You say 'no, I didn't cut today', or 'yes I'm fine'.. Little white lies, pretending to be okay or telling people you ate when you're falling to pieces or starving yourself because all your friends are a size 0 and you're a 10. Saying you don't need help when your mind is screaming at you to get someone, anyone, to talk to. Pretending to be happy for the sake of the people you cared about so they have one less thing to worry about. 'It's just like playing make believe', you tell yourself, except there's no one left to save you...
