Yulissa's P.O.V.

"So what are we cooking for dinner?" Kevin asked, taking his jacket off.
"There's no we. It'll only be you cooking tonight." I replied, taking a seat on the couch.
"What?" He asked in disbelief.
"You lost our bet, remember?" I turned the television on. "So surprise me!" I smiled.
He looked around the kitchen, then asking, "Do you have an apron?"
I pointed to the apron that hung next to the fridge. He grabbed it, put it on, and then stroke a pose.
"Spirit fingers." He exclaimed, wiggling his fingers.
We started joking around by doing a cheer dance, and it ended when we fell on the floor laughing.
"I'm going to get a noise complaint. Stop." I laughed as we got up.
"Next time, you're cooking." He pointed at me, and I grinned as I walked towards the couch.
"Fine by me." I replied.

If I lose next time for a bet, I'll just order out and pretend I cooked.

Time passed by, and my stomach was getting pretty hungry. I turned over to Kevin, and he was really into his cooking. I couldn't really smell the food because my nose was stuffy due to allergies.

He looks so cute when he's concentrated on something...

I whipped out my phone, going to the camera and I took a couple of pictures. As I stood up, I went over him. I hugged him from behind, resting my head on his back. He let out a low chuckle.
"Why are you laughing?" I asked.
"You scared me." He answered.
"Oh." I let go, and stepped back.
"Don't stop." He turned around, now facing me.
He grabbed my hands, and pulled me into a hug.
"You're my favorite person in the entire world, Yulissa." He whispered.
My head now rested on his shoulder, my face forming a smile.
"Is the food almost done?" I cracked after a while. I backed off, and he turned around.
"Yes. I was just waiting for the macaroni to be done. "Feast your eyes on this delicious food I made just for you."
My eyes brightened as I looked at my favorite food.
"If only I could smell it better." I laughed.
He laughed as well, telling me, "Go blow your nose, nasty."
"Don't be mean." I stuck out my tongue.
I walked over to the bathroom and freshened up. Seeing as he was "dressed to impress", I decided to change out of my shorts and good old T-shirt.
As he wore a red button up shirt with dark jeans, I changed into a simple yet cute blue dress. I fixed my hair into a side fishtail braid, and cleaned up my day makeup.
I walked back into the kitchen to see him pouring some water into our glasses. He looked up, about to speak, but didn't.
"Cat got your tongue?" I asked, breaking the silence.
"Yeah," he laughed as I walked towards him. "You look gorgeous, but you didn't have to change. You always look gorgeous."
"Oh, please. You don't always lose your words when I'm dressed with workout clothes."
He pulled out my chair and after I sat, he did as well.
"Or maybe you just don't notice that I get still get speechless when I am around you." He smiled.
I felt my cheeks getting pink, and glanced down.

He is a wonderful guy...

Man, this food really does look delicious.

"Dig in." He stated.
We began eating, and it was in fact amazingly good. We spoke about where he learned to cook, and he explained about the nights when he would stay with his father at work. His father used to be a firefighter until he retired, and there his dad's friends would teach him how to cook. Kevin had always been a fast learner, so it wasn't much of a surprise that he learned quickly how to cook all different foods.
Kevin's tragic story, as I guess one would call it, was that his mother passed from lung cancer, which resulted in his father's early retirement from being a firefighter. But as a single parent, and no longer mourning over the death of his wife, his father decided to do the second best thing he was good at which was to fix cars. He made his own shop, thus hiring Kevin as his secondhand man.
"Do you get paid differently?" I asked.
"No, same as everyone else. How is your mom doing, by the way."
"She's fine. Always wants me to visit her every other weekend, so I try my best." I replied and he nodded.
We had changed the subject to about school, which then changed to about our friends and all that we have been through. Suddenly, there was a loud sound of thunder and glanced at one another.
"Was that thunder?" I asked.
"I think so." He replied.
Then, all at once, it was pouring rain. I checked the time and it was already 9:54 p.m.
"Damn. I really hope it doesn't rain for long. I hate driving in the rain." He hissed under his breath.
"I thought you loved the rain?" I responded.
"Not when I'm driving." He replied.
"Well, how do you feel about going out and playing in the rain?" I suggested.
"Really?" His eyebrows furrowed.
"Yeah, I mean, its only thunder. Plus, I have some of your clothes here from when I'd borrow them." I informed.
"Yeah." He smiled. "I'll change into those."
"And I will change as well." I grinned. We walked over to my closet, where I handed him his v-neck black T-shirt and basketball shorts and he changed in the restroom. I changed into a pale purple spaghetti strapped shirt and my blue shorts from earlier.
"Ready?" He asked.
"Yep."
We walked out of my room, into the elevator, and then out of it, and just outside of the apartment complex.
He reached over and grabbed my hand as we ran into the pouring rain. There was a few puddles, where we decided to jump in. Out of nowhere, I felt something hit my lower back. Taking a look at it, I saw that it was mud.
"What the hell, Kevin!" I shouted.
He was laughed, and I reached behind me and grabbed a handful of mud. He then stopped his laughing, realizing what I was about to do. Before he could move, I threw it at him and it landed on the side of his head.
Soon it was a mud war, and we both had splotches on our legs, butt, stomach, and hair. So practically everywhere.
I reached down, got mud, but when I stood back up, I got lost in how close Kevin stood next to me. He leaned in, and kissed me. He kissed me as if nothing else mattered, and he didn't want to let go. My hand slowly opened, and I felt the pile of mud land on my foot. My arms then wrapped around his neck as we kissed more.
My eyes opened only to see that my fingers had turned into raisins. As I pulled away, I suggested, "I think we should head on inside now."
He nodded his head.
