The rising sun sent beautiful streaks of golden through the sky, as the stars began to fade away. The tree tops whistled in the wind, the waters of the lake rippling with the winds. The pines shook slightly, as a rock edged against the earth, rising up and towards the sky, jutting from the pines like a snake from a rock.
Atop it, a cat ran, just about to reach the edge. It's fur rippled in the wind, face holding a warm smile, his shimmering amber eyes reflecting every detail of the scenery. He felt the wind brush against his back as if to form wings, as he leapt off the edge, plummeting into a free fall. A heartbeat after falling from the rock, the wind caught him, and he actually stopped. He flew. The wind carried him over the near pines' tops, his smile widening as he watched the ground below. He's been trying this for years now — and it'd finally worked. He was flying.
His fur outlined him against the fading dark bluish-black sky, the newly risen sun making his fur ripple and blow against his body golden, eyes gleaming. His paws blew back in the wind, pressing against his belly, the wind carrying him. No doubt lived within his mind now. Complete joy flooded his senses, with the ever growing sunlight, the clouds stained purple against the sky.
The wind carried him, until it dipped lower, his body now many tail-lengths from the rock that he'd leapt from. He dipped into the pines, managing to twist away from trunks of the trees, until his paws met the earth below, which was packed solid and strong with a few tufts of grass here and there. He dropped fully to the ground and had to sprint, paws forcing his forward, until gravity took control once more, allowing him to slow. He twisted out of a tree's wake, halting. He smiled, staring up to the sky through the pine needles, the final stars shining through as the sun rose distantly.
He then trotted forward into the woods, eyes glimmering, sunlight shining through the trees. All was right with the world. It was the perfect day for adventure, and he'd promised his friends to meet up at Sunningrocks. As he followed the trees, the sun rising, he began to purr. This was his life — he could fly.
