Something was different. Callum and John just realised Duncan was nowhere to be seen,
"How long has Duncan been gone?" Sighed Callum, looking from left to right,
"I...I have no idea..." John replied, as he took his colourful headphones off and placed them around his neck,
"Should we go look?" Asked Callum,
"Nah." John said,
"Maybe they know where he is?" Callum pointed towards a group of four inklings,
"No, I don't think they would...wait...are they Duncan's crush's friends?" John shook his head in confusion,
"We should go and ask?" Callum looked towards them all. John nodded his head as they walked up to the four inklings.
"Hello?" Callum said, as he looked up to the inklings, one of them turned back to him,
"Who are you?" She said in a rude tone,
"I'm Callum. I'm wondering if you've seen my friend, Duncan." Callum replied,
"I haven't seen your friend, I don't even know what he looks like, midget. We're too busy looking for our friend anyway." She turned as her long, red tentacles brushed past his face. He sighed,
"Wait..." John said,
"What's your friend's name?" He asked, as the tallest inkling of the lot looked at him,
"Abigail. Pink tentacles, squid clip in her hair. Zekko hoodie and black trainers." He said,
"Callum," John whispered,
"I think this 'Abigail' is the girl Duncan has a crush on..." Callum looked at John in surprise, it had to be. The orange inkling over heard their whispers,
"That turquoise inkling?" He said, they both went silent. They slowly nodded,
"That's the guy Abb--" the green inkling put her hand over his mouth,
"Ahaha, no she doesn't Leo..." She gave a small nudge,
"Oh...no, Lily is right. She doesn't." Leo gave a worried kind of expression on his face,
"Yes, she does. Don't lie you two." The tallest shrugged like it was nothing,
"Evan's right. Lying doesn't solve anything." Said the red tentacles one,
"Scarlet..." Lily said slapping her hand on to her face,
"Don't tell him." Lily begged,
"We won't." John and Callum said together. As much as they did want to tell him; maybe it's better not to right now,
"But we can help them get together, right?" Callum gave a mischievous smirk, they all sighed, but then let out a little laugh.
After a while of thinking, Callum broke the silence,
"Where should we look first?" He said, as they all looked at him, they all shared ideas,
"Abbie likes to go to the Cafè." Lily looked towards the Cafè,
"No pink inkling in sight though..." Callum let out a small sigh of anger,
"Why don't we separate and look for them?" John looked to him,
"Do they even have a clear vision of what Duncan looks like?" He whispered in his ear,
"I do," Evan said, stepping forwards
"I'll go help you guys look for him." He tapped his head,
"Thank you...Evan, is it?" John smiled, Evan smiled back and nodded,
"First time you've smiled in years Evan." Leo laughed, Evan stayed silent,
"Uh, well, we're going to take the train to Ducan's house, see if he's at home" Callum said, as he ran towards the train station,
"Wait for us!" John shouted, as he and Evan ran after him.
Scarlet looked behind her to being with Lily and Leo. She sighed, "I'm doomed." Scarlet thought to herself.
Evan, John and Callum waiting on the platform for the train, like the impatient fool he is, he started to clap, then tap his feet at the same time, it's like he was creating a song, other inklings started to click their fingers and joined in, he started to run around gathering all the inklings joining in and they made a small song of sort,
"Does he always do this?" Evan asked, as he watched Callum impatiently wait for the train,
"No, not really." John answered.
The train came and stopped at the station, Callum waved goodbye to his new 'friends' and ran back to Evan and John and hopped onto the train.
They sat down by a window as they waited for the train to depart.
The train departed. They had to wait about 3 stations to where Duncan's house is, because nobody wants an hour walk.
They all sat silently on the train, until the silence broke,
"I don't mean to sound rude, but why are you...small, Callum?" Evan asked,
"Dwarfism." Callum immediately replied,
"Now can I ask a question?" Callum smiled,
"Um, go ahead." Evan replied,
"Why did Leo say, "That's the first time you've smiled in years, Evan"?" Callum asked, Evan stayed silent for a while,
"Reasons." He sighed,
"Do you really think Duncan will be home?" John said as he looked to Callum,
"Well...yes." Callum replied, John just slammed his head onto the table, he gave out a little cry,
"Did that hurt?" Asked Evan,
"A little..." John replied, he sat back up and rubbed his forehead, having to rub head head for the rest of the train ride.
The train stopped at the station, as Callum, John and Evan hopped of. Callum leaded the way in joy.
A little while later, Callum bursted another question,
"What rank are you in ranked battles?" He asked, he gave a big smile, an evil kind of smile,
"S+" Evan replied, Callum's emotion suddenly changed to fear, John began laughing,
"You were expecting him to be a lower rank, weren't you?" Trying to catch his breath, Callum sighed,
"Well, yes, I did wanna know if I could splat him with my charger..." He looked down to the ground,
"What rank are you then?" Evan looked down to Callum as crossed his arms,
"A+" he replied,
"How about you John?" Evan looked towards him,
"S" he shrugged,
"Ah here we are!" Callum said, as he ran to the gate to Duncan's front garden, he opened the gate and ran to the door.
Knock...
...Knock...
...Knock...
...no reply,
"He's not in he's gotta be somewhere!" Callum shouted in anger.
v[Scarlet, Lily and Leo]v
"Ugh can you guys stop being all lovey-dovey? It's gross!" Scarlet said in disgust, Leo chuckled,
"Oh you like it, don't you really Scarlet." He started to annoy her more, Lily laughed,
"Right, I'm leaving you lovebirds alone whilst I go somewhere else to go and find Abbie." Scarlet walked off in another direction as Lily and Leo laughed, continuing walking their direction.
v[Callum, John and Evan]v
Callum sat by Duncan's front door and wondered where else he would normally hang out. He let out a big sigh, and then clicked his fingers. He started to climb the bricks of Duncan's house wall, up to his window. He saw the note on his bedside table; but no hits where he would've gone were to be seen. Callum started to climb down, he missed a brick and started to fall Evan grabbed him before he fell to the ground, and then handed him to John,
"I think we should take the door not being answered as a tip that he's not home. Also that there are no hints to where he has gone." Evan said.
Suddenly a car pulled up and parked in the driveway. Two adult inklings got out of the car, and looked towards Callum, Evan and John, the male inkling got bags of food out of the boot of the car, but the female inkling walked up to them with a smile on her face,
"Hello!" She said cheerfully,
"Good morning, Mai." Said Callum and John, Evan looked behind them, he seemed a bit confused,
"Good morning, ma'am." he politely said. Mai giggled,
"Please, call me Mai. I'm Duncan's mum. It's a pleasure to meet you, a friend of Duncan?" She asked,
"I've...never met Duncan. I only know what he looks like, I'm a friend of these two though." He looked back towards Callum and John,
"Okay, I have to go help my husband with the shopping!" She smiled as she ran back to the car energetically,
"And that's...Duncan's mum?" Evan whispered behind him, the two nodded,
"Maybe he's in a few random turf wars without us? And Abbie too?" Callum said,
"Yeah maybe they are. I can't really think otherwise where Duncan would be. He normally hangs out with us." John pointed out,
"So we've technically figured out where Duncan is, maybe Abbie too,"
Evan looked back behind him to see Duncan's parents carrying heavy bags of shopping, and he saw more, a lot more,
"After we help Duncan's parents get the shopping in." Evan chuckled as he walked to Mai offering to help, she smiled and gave a light nod as they helped her.
v[Scarlet]v
Scarlet walked alone to the café, she knew that Abbie wasn't there, but wanted a drink to calm her down, and maybe it's deliciousness erasing what just happened out of her mind,
"One latte please." Scarlet said to the man at the counter, she paid her coins and walked over to a table, she sat at a table and waited for her latte.
She pondered on where Abbie would be, she's not here which is one of her favourite places. Nobody's checked the Booyah base either, to her surprise.
The waiter came with a latte, and placed it gently on the table, there was a beautiful leaf pattern on top,
"Thank you." Scarlet smiled as she gave a tip to the waiter, the waiter gave a small bow as a thank you.
As Scarlet waited for her latte to cool, she started to think maybe she went clothes shopping. Not in the Booyah base, but maybe the mall.
She could be anywhere.
But she never really goes anywhere.
Abbie normally hangs out with the others.
The door suddenly sprung open with a loud ring of the bell on top, to three very sweaty inklings, they walked to the counter, one ordered ice cream, one ordered coffee and one ordered tea with 2 teaspoons of sugar.
After they ordered they waited for their drinks (and the ice cream) at the counter, they were soon given and they walked up to Scarlet's table, two of them sat next to opposite to her and one pirched on the edge of the seat,
"Why are you guys here and why are you all sweaty" Scarlet sighed, it was Evan, John and Callum,
"Well Scarlet," Evan said as he took a sip of his coffee,
"We didn't find Duncan even though we went to his house, but we helped his parents instead," Evan stopped,
"Missed the train and ran back here for no reason," continued John,
"Came here for a drink, we saw you and here you are now." Callum finished. Scarlet had a moment, she looked at them confused,
"No Duncan." John said, Scarlet stayed silent and sipped some more of her latte,
"What happened to Lily and Leo?" Evan said looking around,
"I left them. They were being gross and ew." Scarlet sighed,
"Right..." Evan said, he stayed quiet from then on.
"BRAIN FREEEEEZEEEEEEEE" Callum shouted, giving a painful scream with his mouth shut, Scarlet laughed, small tears of agony fell from Callum's face,
"Too cold!!" He cried waiting impatiently for it to subside, John leaned over the table giving Callum a small pat on his shoulder, Callum looked at him,
"You've been in worse pain than this." John said, Callum had a moment, as his cold head subsided, Callum wiped few frozen tears from his eyes. It wasn't as bad as the past. Scarlet and Evan looked at them wondering what the past was, what pain was it that could be so worse than your brain being frozen? Callum put his ice cream on the table,
"Never again." He said with a trembly voice. The others finished their beverages and Callum was curled up in a ball with his knees on the chair, shivering.
As they all finished, they looked towards Callum, but decided to leave him,
"So, have you even thought on where Abbie is?" Asked John,
"The mall or something.." Scarlet replied,
"We thought they might be in a turf war, it's probably why we can't find them anywhere." John explained,
"We haven't really looked anywhere though." Scarlet muttered,
"Well I don't think we can now.." Sighed John, looking at Callum, Scarlet stood up and stretched,
"Well, I'm going home." She said,
"Cya." John waved, he continued to look at a sad Callum,
"The past is the past." John said, Callum looked up,
"But what if it happens again?" He mumbled,
"It won't." John gave a light smile, Callum started to cheer up a bit,
"Hah, I bet ya Abbie and Duncan would be on the same team even if it is randomised." Callum gave a small laugh,
"Glad to see you're cheering up." Evan said, he looked at the clock in the distance,
"I've got to go now, have fun." Evan got up and left giving a small wave to the two. They waved back,
"So how about doing a turf war?" John said as he got up, Callum sprung up,
"Yes!" He cheered, they left the cafe and headed to do turf wars.

Sorry if this is a bad chapter, school is killing me so it's difficult to write a chapter. I thought this was only going to take a day as well.
I'll try and write a Halloween chapter for tomorrow, but I'm busy then too. I have a costume planned out for a party, Sans from Undertale. ^v^
The cover would be my drawing collage thing (if I can find it).
Probably more character development chapters to come (they've changed a lot sorry if it's confusing) and sorry there's not an introduction to Lily and Leo either.
I'm thinking of doing Chapter 9 in Abbie and Duncan's POV (point of view), might as well say that now if it seems confusing next chapter.
I'm so sorry it was a month for this. ;-;
