Izuka took her time walking to the base which took her a few days. When she arrived to the base she saw everyone in the living room. Once she entered the living room, everyone turned to look at her.
"Hidan and Kakuzu are dead." Kisame said breaking the silence.
"Finally some peace and quiet." Izuka commented. "Who killed them?"
"Those Leaf Shinobi. The nine tails brat killed Kakuzu."
She felt proud knowing Naruto defeated Kakuzu.
"He's getting so much stronger,"
"Seems like they're becoming a problem."
"Indeed they are. They're killing off all of us."
"I guess we need to be more careful. It seems like they're more of a threat than Orochimaru."
Izuka looked over at Itachi seeing him staring into space.
"Where were you?" Zetsu questioned.
"Just wandering around. I was bored sitting there for six days so I needed some fresh air and food."
"You were gone for days."
"I took my time. We only have two tailed beasts left so I know that we weren't in any kind of rush so I decided to take my time for once."
After that comment, everyone was silent once again which no one was complaining about since the base is never quiet. Seeing that there was no reason to be there, Izuka left heading to the training area. She's only been there a few times so no one would expect her to be there so she won't be bothered. When she arrived she sat in the middle of the floor sitting in the lotus position.
She sat in silence meditating for awhile focusing on trying to find peace with herself. Taking deep breaths she focused on the negatives in her life trying to over come them. She has tried to cleanse her soul before which worked but that was years ago. In the middle of her routine she heard a commotion in the hallway which ruined her concentration. With a sigh she got up from her spot and headed out the door.
She saw everyone heading towards the meeting room which she did also. Everyone gathered around in a circle as usual waiting to hear the information that Pein had to tell them.
"Orochimaru has been killed."
Everyone was silent waiting to hear more. Until Izuka spoke up.
"By whom?"
"Sasuke Uchiha,"
All eyes were on Itachi and Izuka.
"It seems that he killed Orochimaru and formed a team of his own."
"Ah, I wanted to be the one to kill that snake bastard." Deidara growled.
"Who is on his team?" Izuka questioned.
"Suigetsu Hozuki, Karin Uzumaki, and the bipolar Juugo."
"Ah Suigetsu, such a cute kid. Has a knack for killing." Kisame commented.
"Hm wasn't Juggo the first one with the curse mark? He also went to Orochimaru willingly."
"Yes, now we suspect Sasuke is going to go after you, Itachi. Be on the look out."
"Now we have to worry about Leaf Shinobi and Sasuke. So many enemies." Izuka commented.
"So it seems." Zetsu said.
"You're all dismissed."
With that, everyone left and most left the base. Izuka went back to her room gathering scrolls and attaching them onto her back then she put on new clothes. When she opened her door Itachi was standing right in front of her.
"Yes Itachi?"
"What are you doing?"
"Going to travel a bit."
"No, you're going to look for Sasuke and you went to the Leaf before." He accused.
"You can read me like a book." She said patting his cheek.
"Why are you going after Sasuke?"
"I just want to talk to him."
"About?"
"Mostly about you."
"Why?"
"Because I don't want him to kill you."
"Why?"
"Well because I love you and I still need some information from you."
"What kind of information?"
"Tobi."
"......Oh...why?."
"You know something about him."
"I can't hide this forever from her. She's too smart." Itachi thought.
"I'll find out Itachi, even if it kills me." Izuka said.
Izuka said as she moved past him. Quickly Itachi got in her path. They stared into each others eyes then Itachi pushed her against the wall.
"Can I help you?" Izuka questioned.
Without saying a word Itachi kissed her roughly at first but then more gently. With a smirk, Izuka returned the kiss wrapping her arms around his neck pulling him closer. They embraced each other kissing passionately which lead to a make out session. Just as it started, Izuka finished it by breaking away.
"I have to get going." She said.
Itachi then gave her one last kiss but gave her a look that made her heart melt.
"We can finish this when I get back." She chuckled.
"I love you,"
"I love you too."
In a split second, Izuka was gone and outside the base. Once outside she began her personal mission of finding Sasuke. She didn't know where he was now but she knew where he was going to be. She started to head south towards the Leaf Village again. It seems that she spends a lot of time in the fire country. She did her best to avoid all of the main paths not wanting to run into any ninja along the way. Gaining Pein's trust was the best thing for her but a grave mistake for him.
Unfortunately for her she ran into some sand ninja. She came to a stop as did they.
"From their chakra signatures two are chuunin and one is a Jonin." Izuka thought.
The three ninja before her looked her over and noticed the Leaf head band that hung on he waist.
"What is a Leaf ninja doing all the way out here?"
"It seems like they don't know who I am." She thought.
"I'm on a mission searching for rouges." She answered.
"And you're looking for them all the way out here?"
"Yes, one of them has been spotted in this area. Plus I should be asking you the questions since this is the boarder between the Fire and Wind Country."
"Very well then, continue with your mission."
Izuka took off without another word heading for the Uchiha hideout. She was glad she had an extra headband; unfortunately she wasn't proud about how she got it. Once she was close she did the proper hand signs which opened a hidden path that was sealed behind a genjutsu. She walked the rest of the way there taking her time. When she arrived she entered the hideout and was greeted by two felines. They looked up at her and smiled a cat smiled.
"Why hello there ladies." Izuka greeted.
"Why hello darling," The older of the two greeted.
"Ami, Shaiki, so nice to see you two again. It's been a while."
"I thought we'd never see you here again." Ami said.
"What brings you here?" Shaiki questioned.
"I'm waiting for someone."
"Who?" They asked.
"Sasuke,"
"Hm, haven't seen him since he was here with his friends." Ami said.
"Come on, we'll bring you to granny."
Through the long and endless hallways they lead Izuka into a large room filled with cats. In a chair there was an old cat and Izuka knelt before her.
"So glad to see you again Izuka. It's been a few years since your last visit." The old cat greeted.
"Yes, it has been a while."
"Do you need anything?"
"I could use a sword and new clothes."
"But you have two swords on your back."
"I need another, I only use one in emergencies and I'm saving the other for a special occasion."
"Hmmm, okay then."
Izuka sat down on one of the cushions surrounded by cat ninja.
"What have you guys been doing all these years?" She asked.
"Absolutely nothing. It's so boring here!" One complained.
"Oh shut up, there's plenty to do! You can go to the cat palace and party!" Another argued.
"Not for me, I'm a combat cat! I need action!"
"I'm guessing they're still just kittens." Izuka said turning to Ami.
"Unfortunately they still haven't matured even though it's been three years.
"Give it another year. Usually it takes four, or when they go into battle. That'll wake 'em up."
"I hope so. I can't take their bickering."
"Oh that's what makes it fun."
"You're crazy Izuka."
"Maybe, but I know a lot about children."
"Take mine, please." She sighed.
"Haha sorry," Izuka laughed.
A draft was then felt in the room. Izuka looked in the doorway.
"It seems he's finally here. Someone go greet Sasuke."
Two male cats got up from their spot and left the room. Grandma cat finally came back with a sword.
"Here, this will work with your lightning element."
"Thanks,"
Footsteps were heard down the hall heading towards the room.
"Hello Sasuke."
