Born Under a Bad Sign: four
Sam manages to wonder back to the motel at around ten in the morning, his eyes droopy from staying up all night. His legs are sore from the laps he made around in the dark, hands cold and stiff from hanging limply at his sides for so long. He pushes the motel door open slowly, testing the weight on the door beneath his hands before closing it behind him and facing his brother.
Only Dean isn't alone.
That man from the previous night sits at the round table the motel provides, he's shirtless and looking drowsy but smiling and a loopy looking Dean. Dean looks up when Sam enters, something flashes across his face but it's replaced by a masked smile.
"Sammy! You're home, finally. Breakfast?" Dean gestures in his direction with a bacon filled pan, sizzling and spitting in his direction. Sam shakes him head and ignores the black haired man, he steps past them and into the motel room's attached bathroom.
There's dirt on his hands and jeans, he runs the tap and silently brushes his large hands from beneath the cool flow of water. He can hear soft murmuring from the other side of the door, his brother's and a deep, gravelly voice that Sam presumes belongs to the black haired man. Sam knows he really shouldn't pry, it's rude and uncalled for...but even so.
Sam moves across the bathroom and slides his back down the door until he's in a sitting position, the voices from the other room being heard just enough to make out the words.
"-talk much and likes to be left alone, he's a little bit of an oddball." Dean's saying quietly.
"But you care about him a lot, yes?" The man replies, Sam turns his head slightly without realising at first; why's he so desperate to hear Dean's answer?
"Of course I do, he's my little brother. I'm all he has." Dean replies, Sam looks away and back to the tap which he realises is still running, his hands still dripping. He looks down at the small puddles and marks on his jeans, he ought to get up and turn the tap off but he doesn't move at all, despite this thought.
"Is he all you have though?" The man questions, the other side of the room suddenly becomes very quiet. Sam can hear the rushing water from the tap so suddenly that he almost jumps, it's vibrating loudly through his mind and deafening him. Sam pulls his hands up to his ears and grimaces against the sound, he crawls forwards to turn it off as the last words filter through from the other room's conversation.
"I'm going to check on him, he's been there awhile." Dean mutters.
The door to the bathroom swings open to admit Dean into the room, he looks to his brother who's drying his hands on a white and fluffy towel. Sam peers up at his brother and places the towel back on a silver ring beside the sink.
"You okay?" His brother questions, Sam nods and brushes past him. He meets a pair of bright blue eyes, ones that light up with a friendly smile. Sam blinks at him and then looks away.
"This is Castiel." Deans calls out, Sam looks to his brother and then back to the black haired man.
"Sam." He replies softly then turns away.
Well, that was different then to what I had planned but I hope you liked it! Finally met Cas properly! As I said before, there will be Destiel (obviously) but it will be a little out of focus! :D
