Lightning Her Gift From the Gods: Chapter 4
Zosime
I woke up to a brightly shining sun and perfect blue sky streaming through my bedroom window. Apparently there's only one bedroom on this entire floor and it just so happens to be empty of curtains. This waking up early is going to get real old, real quick. I tried to rub the sleep out of my eyes as I stumbled out of bed, headed towards the bathroom. I was in great need of a shower. After all the excitement yesterday I didn't get a chance to take one. When I opened the bathroom door I sighed, it was gorgeous, just like the rest of this place. When I finally stepped into the shower and turned it on, I almost passed out from amazement. Instead of a shower head pelting me with water, a cloud appeared and it started raining! The small raincloud dropping water at the perfect temperature as I shampooed. When I got out of the shower and looked at the clock on the wall I gasped, it'd been an hour and a half. I grabbed a towel and wrapped it around myself, leaving the bathroom in search of my suitcases. I found them and smiled when I saw wrapped wrapped presents, the top one had a note attached, it read; Dear my gorgeous, precious Zosime, I was saving these for Christmas, I bought them weeks ago. Love, Mom. I unwrapped the present and pulled out a beautiful dress. It was purple and it would reach mid thigh, it had a ruffled v-neckline and it was made of a flowing material. I tried it on and went to go stand in front of the mirror, when I felt wetness on my cheeks.
I didn't realize I was crying.
The dress fit me perfectly and it was so comfortable. I was spinning around in front of the mirror, sending a prayer of thanks to my mom, and I heard a knock from the elevator doors. I walked towards it and pressed my ear against the cold metal.
"Zosime, it's Danny. Can I come in?"
For some reason, I felt a sense of relief that it was Danny, "Sure," I said through the door.
I placed my hand on the gold plate of the elevator door and it shimmered before opening. A ruffled looking Danny walked past me and into my room, without turning my way.
"Aria, wants to meet you. She needs to assess your level of power and natural fighting ability. And don't worry, she's not as scary as she looks, just so long as you're respectful...," he trailed off, looking at me peculiarly.
I blushed, suddenly realizing I was still wearing the dress.
Danny
I was staring at her like an idiot, and I'm pretty sure I was drooling. Her midnight black hair was tousled and wet, I'm guessing from recently showering, and she was wearing a short purple dress that made her legs look long and perfect.
She was absolutely breathtaking.
I snapped out of my staring when she hiccuped, causing her blush to deepen.
"I should go change...I probably look stupid," she said, muttering the last part to herself as she turned away.
Don't ask me why I did it, because I have no idea. I rushed up to her, turned her around, and pulled her against my chest. I lowered my face towards hers, and when she spoke her minty breath deliciously surrounded me, "Danny," she whispered.
"You look beautiful, Zosime," I said, closing the distance.
Just as our lips were about to meet, there was a loud knocking from the elevator doors.
"Danny are you in there? Aria is looking for you! Let us in," I recognized the obnoxious voices coming through the doors.
I sighed, it was my two best friends, Sebastien and Eva. Just as I was about to disentangle myself from Zosime she stopped me.
"I think you forgot something," she said with a wicked grin.
She stood up on her toes and put her arms around my neck, running her finger through my hair as she brought my face down to meet hers.
She whispered in my ear, sending tingles up my spine, "Aren't you gonna kiss me?"
I wasted no time, bringing my lips to hers as fireworks exploded, making my whole body tingle. Her soft lips were warm and she pulled away too quickly, leaving me with her ghost of a kiss. We'd only briefly brushed lips and I felt like I was gonna collapse.
She giggled as she walked towards the elevator doors and I was vaguely aware of her greeting to Eva and Sebastien.
I just stood there with my hand on my lips like a moron.
Sebastien waved his hand in front of my face, "Earth to Danny!"
I snapped out of my daze and, I could hear Zosime and Eva talking in the distance.
"Sorry about him, who knows what's going through his head sometimes," Eva said.
"It's okay, I'm sure I can guess," Zosime said, sending a sly smirk my way.
