Paige's POV:
As I'm starting up the motorcycle I feel Emily's hands hesitating to go around me, so I put my hands behind me and search aimlessly for her hands. I feel around for her wrist and set her arms around my waist and lace her fingers together. I lightly tap the top of her hands, a signal to tighten her hands around me. Once I feel her hands tighten and feel her turn her head to talk to Hanna, I look down at her hands around my waist, I trail my thumb lightly over her fingers. I smile at the softness of her skin, the way my skin tingles when it collides with hers, the laughter I hear next to my ear from a joke Hanna said, the warmth I get from her body, and from all that I conclude that I never want to move from this position.
I break out of the trance once I hear Spencer's car starting. I grip the handles of the motorcycle and put my feet on the pedal, making myself ready. Once I finally get all thoughts of Emily out of my head I feel a weight on my shoulder, it's not a heavy weight and it's put very softly there. That's when I finally realize that Emily's head is on my shoulder. All other thoughts escape my mind as Emily's the only one I'm thinking of. I can't think of anything to do other then smile, but I keep the smile small hoping no one sees. 'This girl will be the death of me.' I think as I finally start driving out of the parking lot.
I stop the motorcycle once we're at the lodge and that's when I noticed that Emily's head position hasn't moved since we left the parking lot, it wasn't a long ride only about 10 minutes because of all the trails you have to follow. I wait for a while thinking that Emily will move, but once I noticed a small snoring sound next to my left ear I realize she's sleeping. I just sit there for a second, listening to her soft snoring sounds. I smile to myself at the cuteness of Emily falling asleep on a motorcycle ride and at the ridiculousness of me actually sitting here just listening to her snoring. Once I hear the other motorcycles and Spencer's car coming I start trying to wake Emily up.
I put my hand behind me to her waist level and poke at her sides with my fingers. "Come on sleepyhead wake up." I feel her shifting her head, snuggling her head more into my neck. It feels uncomfortable since the helmet she's wearing is hitting my cheek, but I chuckle when I hear her mumble inaudible words and at the feeling of her breath tickling my neck. I see my gang hopping off their motorcycles and Spencer and Aria getting out of her car. I breath a sigh of relief. 'Finally someone can help' I thought.
"Hey can someone help me out over here?" I ask. Everyone's attention quickly turns to me and Emily. As everyone starts walking towards me, I quickly regret my decision to call them over when I see all the grins and smirks on their faces, even Spencer. Once everyone was standing near me and Emily, I opened my mouth to start speaking but was interrupted by a loud snore in my left ear. There was a small moment of silence before everyone around us started laughing. I didn't laugh but I had a smile on my face, I wasn't thinking about how funny the loud snore was, I was simply thinking about the look of Emily's peaceful sleeping face in my mind.
Once the laughing subsided Hanna came closer and put her hands on Emily's shoulders and shook her lightly. "Emsy wake up." Hanna said softly. 'How many nicknames does she have?' I think to myself, but the thought quickly leaves my mind when I feel Emily's head lifted off my shoulder, making me instantly miss the tingling feeling I had. I turn around to see her, I smile at the adorable pouting face she's making. Her hair is a bit messy from the helmet when she took it off and handed it to Hanna, but she still looks amazing. She has her hands balled into a fist covering her eyes as she tries to rub the tiredness from her eyes. Her lips are in a pouting face 'probably from being woken up', I think to myself.
When she finally drops her hands away form her eyes, she stares straight ahead and makes eye contact with me. I smile at her flustered face and wide eyed expression when she finally realized that she's been sleeping on me. My eyes trail back to her lips and all I can think about is kissing her. 'No I can't' I think to myself once I have a clear head. 'I can't give in first.' I felt like me and Emily were having a competition to see who will give in first. We both know how this is gonna end, but we want to see who's gonna start this thing first.
So instead of being flirty I chose a more joking tone to use for now, especially since everyone's around us. I look her straight into the eyes. "Woke up from the dead I see." I said with a teasing smile, I expected her to blush, get shy, be embarrassed but she completely surprised me when she scoffed. "Not my fault someone was driving as slow as my grandma." She emphasized the word 'someone' while she looked at me. I was shocked, opening and closing my mouth trying to make a clever comeback but coming up with none.
Emily shot me a smirk then got off the motorcycle and headed for the lodge, leaving everyone laughing at the encounter while following her into the lodge, and leaving me still sitting on my motorcycle with my mouth gaped in shock at her clever and confident comeback. Everyone had left but Hanna. I felt Hanna's hand on my shoulder squeezing my shoulder lightly with empathy. "Yeah, she's a feisty one. Good luck with her." Hanna finished off with a smile and handed me the helmet, then she proceeded to walk into the lodge also. I let out a small laugh. "Well at least I got one friend's approval." I said under my breath before hopping off, hanging the helmet on the handle and walking towards the lodge.

When Paige walked into the lodge she was met with all the guys and girls sitting on the couch. The girls were staring all around the lodge looking in awe with how big it was, while the guys were fighting over what to watch. Paige had a small smile on her lips as she moved over to the living room to join the group. They had 3 big couches with 4 seats on each couch, so it fit perfectly for all of them. Emily, Aria, Spencer, and Hanna sat on the couch that was in the middle of the TV. Wren, Ezra, Noel, and Lucas sat on the couch that was on the left side of the TV. While Caleb, Paige and Toby sat on the couch that was on the right side of the TV.
Annoyed with the arguing, Paige ushered for the boys to give her the remote. They all sighed and hesitatingly gave her the remote. She smiled and turned the channel to the classics she had recorded. She chose the movie 'Home Alone' Smirking when she heard all the boys groan in protest, they have probably seen this movie over 20 times now. But they were all silent while watching the movie, even the girls. No one really knew how to start the conversation, so they kinda just dismissed it for now.
Then the pizza part came in Home Alone. That's when Paige realized how hungry she was. Right when she thought about it a grumbling noise broke the awkward silence, making it even more awkward. Everyone turned to the sound and her eyes ended up on an embarrassed looking Emily. Her face was flushed red and her eyes were staring at the floor. A small 'sorry' muttered under her breath. Everyone was silent for a moment before Hanna broke into a loud fit of laughter. Laughing uncontrollably, clutching onto her stomach as if she was in pain. Spencer reacted first by slapping Hanna on the knee before saying under her breath "Hanna!" in a sharp tone, anyone would've been scared of that tone, heck even Paige was a little startled. But not Hanna she kept laughing until she could finally control it. "Sorry Ems." Hanna said but with no seriousness in her tone, she used her finger to wipe under her eyes at the tears coming out from laughing too hard.
Paige could sense there was going to be awkward silence again if she didn't talk so she got up from the couch. Stood in the middle of the living room and looked directly at Emily. "Pizza?" Paige said with a smirk when Emily blushed even more and gave her a small nod. "Alright I'll pay, but can you guys give me a pizza place suggestion? We don't really know that many places yet." And with that the group ordered 1 cheese pizza, 1 pepperoni pizza, and 1 meat lovers pizza with 50 mild chicken wings.
While they all sat in the living room again watching the end of Home Alone, while eating pizza and chicken wings once Spencer was done eating she started getting down to business. As Spencer put down her plate of food on the table her coughed to get everyone's attention. When everyone's attention was on her she started speaking. "Okay are you guys ready for the questions or do you want to practice first?" Spencer said indicating that she thought Paige and the group were lying about everything.
Paige sat back farther into the couch and scoffed. Spencer was accusing her of lying and usually she would get mad, but she chose to play Spencer's game instead. "Okay hit me." Paige said sitting back looking calmer then she actually felt. When those words left her mouth the questions came flying back again. With Aria asking first, she pointed to Ezra. "High school? Him?" Paige didn't answer just looked over to Emily for her question. She knew the group wouldn't let her speak until they were all done asking their questions.
"Half way through the year and you're transferring now?" Emily asked.
"Parents?" Spencer asked with a stern eye at Paige but her eyes quickly soften when Paige looked sadly down at the floor. Hanna noticed the look on Paige's face so she tried to lighten up the mood. "And my question was answered. I mean obviously." She said motioning to the lodge around them and gave Paige a comforting smile. Paige returned the smile. Paige was opening her mouth to answer but was cut off by Ezra.
"I'm the new teacher." He said coming up with the best answer he could think of. They all looked at him with wide eyes, they all knew he was a teacher at his old school, but they didn't know how they were going to hack into the school's system and register him as a new teacher. That job was too big for Caleb alone to do. Paige broke out of the daze first and looked over to the girls that were nodding their heads in acknowledgment. She coughed to get the boys out of their daze, when they did she gave them a small nod indicating that the girls believed it.
Paige turned to Emily. "And yes we know it's the middle of the year but we had no other option." The 4 girls gave her confused looks so Paige continued. "We were um... kicked out." Paige said hurriedly trying to sound convincing. Surprisingly the girls didn't question anything and just nodded their heads. Then Paige remembered Spencer's question about parents. She slacked slightly into her chair. "And parents.... we... um..." Paige didn't know what to say so Caleb interrupted her. "We don't talk about them. Period." He said shooting Spencer a glare, Toby smacked his leg to get him to stop. His shot one last glare at Spencer before looking to the floor. Then the awkward silence came.
They all just sat there for about 5 minutes in awkward silence until Noel sighed and stood up. "Okay we really need to stop all this awkward silence." He looked around to all of them while they all nodded. "Okay, so how about a little party to get us more comfortable?" He said with a small wiggle of his eyebrows. Paige was going to protest since it was getting late and she didn't want the girls sleeping over but she was cut off by all the guys and girls agreeing. Paige stood up making everyone look at her. "Don't you guys need to go home? I mean it's already 11. Your moms will worry." Paige said. All the girls shook their heads, while Spencer spoke for all of them. "It's fine we can just call our moms to say we're sleeping over at each others places." Spencer said with a shrug. Paige wanted to face palm mainly because of the obliviousness of the girls and the fact that the girls were so trusting that they would sleep over Paige's lodge after just 1 day of meeting. Actually not even a full day yet.
Paige closed her eyes and rubbed the sides of her forehead. She opened them again and her eyes immediately landed on Emily. She realized that she never actually got to see Emily's sleeping face. Then she started wondering about how Emily's face would look like when she was sleeping, then she wondered how a drunk Emily would look like. She smiled at the thought of Emily tripping over things and giggling for no reason. Paige broke out of her daze when Emily called her name. "Paige? Are you ok?"
Paige looked up to see that Emily was sitting alone on the couch. Paige looked around to see Spencer and Toby talking quietly in the corner, Hanna hugging and thanking a red faced Lucas, while Noel was in the bathroom fixing his appearance, Wren and Caleb was cleaning up the pizza boxes, and Ezra was downstairs getting the alcohol they had in the basement. Paige found it to be the perfect moment to talk to Emily. So she moved over and sat beside Emily. Paige wanted to be her usual flirty self but she found herself being more worried over Emily's well being. "Are you sure your parents won't mind?" Paige asked.
Emily shook her head. "No they won't, don't worry. Do you not want us here?" Emily asked. Paige quickly shook her head. "No it's not that. I do really want you here. Um.. I didn't mean it like that.. I .... um.." Paige fumbled once she realized how weird that sounded. Emily just threw her head back in laughter. Paige smiled, thinking Emily's laugh was the most beautiful sound in the world. Once Emily stopped laughing she stared Paige right in the eyes. Paige felt herself shiver at the intense look Emily gave her.
Emily leaned in closer to Paige a flirty smirk on her lips. "Let's see who wins." Emily says in a small whisper for only her and Paige to hear. Paige was going to respond but was cut off when Ezra closed the basement door, walked over to the living room and set the beer on the table. "Let's get started!" Ezra said loud enough for everyone to start gathering in the living room. They moved the table in the middle of the living room and sat on the floor in a circle. Paige was sitting next to Emily and Hanna.
Once they sat down Emily grazed her fingers over Paige's hand. Paige took it as a signal to hold Emily's hand but when Paige moved her hand over Emily's, Emily stood up and pointed to the bathroom. "I need to go to the bathroom. Wait for me?" Emily asked staring directly at Paige. Paige gulped and nodded not trusting her voice to speak. "Thanks." Emily said shooting her a sexy wink and heading off to the bathroom. Paige noticed that Emily swayed her hips more then usual. Paige laughed at the girl's obvious flirting. She turned to Hanna. "She's definitely feisty." Paige said to Hanna and ignored Hanna's 'What?' look, not wanting to explain anything.
'I like feisty' Paige thought to herself as Emily came out of the bathroom and sat next to her acting like the past 5 minutes didn't happen.
