She looks at her reflection in the mirror,
Making mental notes of her flaws,
She drags a razor across her wrist,
Then covers it in gauze,
Tears stream down her face,
As she swears she won't tell a soul,
Pretending she's just tired,
Because a girl is ugly if she isn't whole,
Two years later scars cover her body,
She dresses in long sleeves and jeans,
Someone once said they love her,
But she isn't sure she knows what love actually means,
So she draws on more bloody red lines,
Then cries herself to sleep.
