Current Day
"You called me in?" I sat down in Watson's office wondering what he needed me for. Tara had called me telling me Mr. Watson had wanted to talk to me before the race that was lined up for tonight.
"Ah Harry yes! I just wanted to go over the information of tonight's race. I presume you know this is a big race for you. You're in the major leagues now which means there is a lot more money at stake." Watson leaned forward in his chair getting down to business.
"Who is it that I'm racing? I wasn't informed by anyone." I told him honestly. Usually I had no idea who I raced until I got to the location.
"Zayn Malik." Watson said with serious eyes.
"I don't think I'm ready-" I was cut off in my ramblings.
"Yes you are. Harry you in these short 6 months have made a name for yourself. You are ranked second next to Mailk! With this new car we are giving you, you will be unstoppable!" Watson encouraged looking over at file I assumed was mine.
"And what car will I be racing?" I questioned knowing that I needed more then what I had now to beat Malik.
"A Mclaren that just came in today especially for you." Excitement escalated just imagining the sleek car.
"And how much money is at stake?" I contained my excitement and remained professional with questions.
"Two million." Watson sat back in his chair pressing his fingertips together.
Containing my nervousness and excitement I remained cool. Two million is life changing. Everything can change from here.

"What did Watson need you for?" Desiree asked upon my return home.
"I'm racing Malik in thirty minutes I just wanted to let you know so you didn't worry about me." I came up behind her kissing her cheek.
"What?" She pushed out of my arms turning to face me.
"I know it's so soon but Watson says I'm ready." I told trying to read her expression.
"Harry, you can't race Zayn." She rejected the idea as soon as it was presented.
"Dez baby..." I was cut off more distance was put between us as she backed away.
"Harry no! You can't race Zayn! You don't know what he's capable of!" Her voice volume grew greater and a worried expression surfaced.
"Babe it will be fine! What is wrong? Do you know something I don't?" I questioned her knowing that by that sentence alone she knew something I didn't.
"No Harry listen to me, you can't race out there Zayn is dangerous!"
"I'll be careful nothing is going to happen to me. I will come back to you in one piece." I tried to comfort her but knew it was no use.
"I have been out there Harry I see what happens!" She shouted trying to convince me to stay.
"You don't understand, you will never understand!" I shot back with sweat forming on my forehead from the stress weighted on me.
"No Harry I don't understand your right! Your putting yourself at risk for something that's not even worth it!" I hated seeing Desiree cry but there was nothing I could do or say to comfort her fears.
"I'm trying to give Gabby a better life!" I argued with Desiree who would never understand the weight that sat on my shoulders. Gabrielle deserved more then what I was giving her, if I did this our lives could change.
"She can't have a better life if her dad is dead!" I could see how badly Desiree wanted me to drop all of this but I was too set in my ways. "You will get hurt out there!" She shouted again with tears in her eyes.
"I've gotta make ends meet." I told her with my voice raised from the anxiety racing through me.
"And what's going to happen when you get hurt out there and she has no one?!" She pointed in the direction of the room where Gabrielle slept soundly.
"Daddy?" The small voice of Gabby sounded amid the argument between Desiree and I.
"Go back to bed bug." I turned my view to see her rubbing her eyes with one hand and holding her teddy bear's arm in the other.
"Daddy I'm scared." She spoke softly as she toddled over to me, getting down to her level I picked her up and felt her arms wrap around my neck.
"It's okay bug, everything's going to be okay." I rubbed small circles on her back as she laid in my chest.
"No Harry everything is not going to be okay. Your giving up that for the sake of winning?" Desiree gestured to Gabby who was locked around me.
"I gotta go now bug, promise me you will be good for Dez." I bent down to let her go but she kept her grip on me around my neck.
"No daddy! Don't leave me!" She stomped her feet on the ground as I unlaced her fingers from my neck. "No daddy!" She cried with tears brimming her eye lids.
"I hope you know what your doing." Desiree said looking defeated from the argument she tried to make in her favor.
"Daddy!" Gabby drew out the word when she reached out for me in Dez's arms. Shutting the door behind me all of this hurt but this was the only way I could fix things. The only way I could give Gabrielle what she deserved, I made a mistake in the past and I now need to make up for it.

The crowd cheered our two names as I shook hands with Zayn. He looked somewhat surprised by my arrival like he hadn't expected me to show up.
"Break a leg." He said before turning away to occupy his La Ferrari that roared when the acceleration was lightly touched.
Opening the silver glossy door handle to my newly bought car I wrapped my hand around the stick shift revving the engine. Keeping my nerves to a minimum I closed my eyes breathing in and out deeply waiting for the moment when the flags would be forced down.
Everyone was watching me including Niall, Louis, and Liam who I peered over at standing behind the chain linked fence. The rowdy crowd chugging beer and screaming out for either Zayn or I.
Within the few seconds the flags were down and I was off along with Zayn who stayed by my side. Giving the car as much gas as possible I slammed my foot to the floor feeling the power of the car. The feeling almost magnetic when the speed set in letting the landscapes pass by in a blurry image. All my mind could think about was winning, keeping my eyes on the prize.
Swerving Zayn out of the way I stayed steady in controlling the car and relished in the power a car like this gave me. Staying confident when Zayn passed me aggressively taking back what he wanted; sweat formed at my hair line as I formed strategically a plan to pass him. Keeping my hand wrapped around the stick shift I drifted hard on the turn and passed him nearly missing my window of opportunity. The screeching of both cars as loud as the roar the engine made I could see the finish line come into view. Keeping my nerves under wrap I gripped the steering wheel causing my knuckles to turn a yellowish white. I was so close to my victory and I wasn't going to let Zayn take it from me. Looking into the side mirror I saw him gain on me quickly as we approached the crowd again. Giving it all I had I floored the gas pedal and crossed the finish line slowing down from my high speeds. Making a swift U-turn once I had slowed down I headed back to the finish where I would gain my high status and prize money.
Waiting for Zayn I took his hand and held it up smiling watching as he was less enthused about the outcome. The crowd cheered screaming with lungs full of beer.
"You did great you deserve what's coming to you." Zayn said before walking away taking his phone out of his pocket.
Zayn was obviously upset about the loss and dialed up someone on the phone while leaning against his car. The announcer began bombarding me with questions and Liam, Niall, and Louis were soon by my side congratulating me as I group hugged them.
I had just won two million dollars.
Desiree's POV
The tv flashed images of what seemed to be late night talk shows but my mind was too exhausted to make anything out. My eyes hung heavy from fighting with Harry, I was tired and half asleep listening to our argument in my head.
I had gotten Gabby back to sleep and calmed down a few short minutes after Harry had left. Rocking her back and forth she soon fell limp in my arms allowing herself to be taken over by sleep. All I wanted was for Harry to be okay.
Waking me from my sleep a harsh knock was banging on the door fiercely. Snapping up my heart pounding against my ribs with anxiety. The knocking became louder and louder as I stood up afraid to look out the peephole. Deciding against looking out the peephole I made a dash for Gabrielle's room but was too late.
The door was busted open and three men stood in the doorway. Coming in one closed the door with an evil smirk as the other cornered me to the kitchen.
"Who are you?!" I shouted afraid of the three unknown men that towered me in height and strength.
"You two take care of her I'll get the little girl." The one I assumed was the ring leader instructed.
"No! Wait! What do you want?! Stop!" My body was pressed up against the corner of the kitchen where cabinets lined the walls.
"Have you ever heard of the saying curiosity killed the cat?" One with a hoodie over his fiery red hair asked grabbing ahold of my wrist asked.
Saying nothing I struggled to get away and was unsuccessful as the fire engine red haired boy pulled me down to the ground straddling me. My heart rate climbed drastically when he pinned down my wrists licking my lips as he then forced himself on me.
"Please stop!" I yelped before a sharp needle like pain pricked my skin. My vision blurred together and sounds of the men talking doubled in my ears.
The last I could hear was a high pitched screaming I was assuming was Gabby. The weight of the boy was lifted off of me and the screaming from Gabby faded when the door was closed. I was frozen and unable to move when my vision faded all together into darkness.
