I woke up with the sun shining down through my window. It was finally the weekend. I rolled over and glanced my alarm clock; it was 7:43. I got up and showered in my bathroom while thinking what to do with the day. I could call up Jess and she if she wanted to go shopping....or I could stick around here with my sister Keira and her boyfriend Jake. I think shopping would be the best choice. I hated seeing couples, I mean, I have got to be the only 10th grader who has never had a boyfriend...ever.
I dialed Jess's number.
"Hello?" She mumbled.
"Hey. Did I wake you??"
"Yea. But that's okay. What's up?"
"Not much. What are your plans for the day?" I asked her.
"Um...I am going out to brunch with my parents, but after that, I am free."
"Do you think you want to hang out and go to the mall or something??"
"Yeah, I would love to. But, I gotta go."
"Okay, I will talk to you later. I will pick you up at 2. Sound good?"
"Yeah. Alright. Byee!"
I set the phone down and went down to the kitchen to get something to eat. I looked out the window before looking for anything. There was only one car in the driveway, mine. I decided to do something for myself and treat myself to breakfast.
I pulled into Denny's parking lot. There was not many people hear, so I would get fast service. I glanced in my rear-view mirror to examine my make-up and hair, they both looked fine so I grabbed my purse and headed to the entrance.
I was lead to a table and started looking at the menu.
"Can I start you off with something to drink??" A voice startled me. "Oh, sorry, didn't mean to-- Keira?"
How did he know my name? I didn't know him. Did he go to my school? Or was he friends with my sister.
