A small woman enters the room stage left. She looks to be about in her mid-forties with long auburn hair and a small round face framed by large glasses that make her eyes appear way too large for it. Because the crowd sits below her she seems much taller than she actually is, and there is something intimidating about her too; its almost as if she is looking into the minds of everyone, judging whether or not anyone is worthy enough to hear her voice.
She takes a moment to clear her throat and says in a voice with a French accent, too strong for a woman that small, "Hello, I am Macre Le'joire and I am here to update your knowledge on the project known to the world as the EmoPix."
With this the woman who introduced herself as Macre Le'joire steps to the right of the stage to reveal an image with colorful pixels covering a large projected screen.
"Does anyone remember this?" she asks the crowd of people below her. "This is the first draft of the EmoPix in which we recorded the patterns of human emotion through brain waves and simulations. We did this by attaching a machine called the Simlex to a certain person's head while they watched several different movies. The machine has the power to read the human mind and works much like a virtual video game. The subject who is watching the movie controls what is recorded on the system by using their thoughts. That is how the computer has the knowledge of how a human being uses emotion."
Some one in the crowd asks "What exactly is an EmoPix?"
"Ah," Macre says in a epiphanic tone. "For those who have never heard of the EmoPix let me elaborate.... The EmoPix stands for Pixel Emotionnelle and it was created to make technology more humane, so that there will be no risk of technology overriding the human race, and humans and technology can work together like friends instead of bussiness partners. This orgnization is also to help give technology the knowledge of how human emotion works so that we can expand the horizons of what we do with technology."
Macre Le'joire takes a long pause and then clears her throat and continues.
"So we have a guest here with us tonight..." she clears her throat and gestures with her hand toward the left of the stage, towards a figure wearing a hoodie.
Macre Le'joire calls out to the figure.
"Pixellette step forward please."
The figure steps forward but it is difficult to make out the face of the figure, or whether or not the figure has a face at all.
"Pixellette remove your hood please."
With that, the figure removes its hood to reveal a slim rounded face with fair skin and blonde hair with empty clear eyes, almost fully white and pink lips. Although she looks beautiful there is something almost scary about her. She has no eyebrows a small barbie-like nose and the expression she wears is very blank... almost too blank.
