A couple of nights later, which was around 9 P.M. that significant night, Bonnie decided to read just for fun, a small reward for discovering a broad amount of information about her current situation. She plucked a book from the shelf called The Girl of Flames, a story of a young teen who discovers that she had fire abilities after almost burning the science room in her school. This was one book that Bonnie found very peculiar, because she thought that the girl in the end was falsely smiling when she had stopped the evil doctor from freezing the city.

... crowd cheered as Miranda ascended down to the street below with a gentle landing. She looked around as the citizens of her city clapped and congratulated her. Miranda smiled, and her smile was starting to glue to her face when a reporter came to cluster around her, asking her questions. (page turn) The reporter said, "You know, everyone says you're a special super girl for our city. How does that feel?"

"Yes, I am a hero to these people, I mean, I saved the city. But... I am just a normal person with a flame ability." Miranda solemnly answered.

Yes, Bonnie thought sadly, she was only a person. I don't think she liked all this attention at all. Bonnie closed the book, and she wasn't even done with the book, "What a depressing story, and I've read this book about a hundred times maybe?" She opened a drawer near her bedside and shoved the disgracing book inside. Bonnie sighed, "I actually thought that book would make me feel better."

She buried herself under the covers, embracing a good night's rest....

... until she heard something. Bonnie blinked her eyes open, "Now what?" she thought to herself, "I hope it's not that girl again." Her eyeballs twitched from side to side as she scoped her bedroom. She checked the ceiling and the wall corners to make sure the noise hadn't come from there. After finding nothing, she shrugged and closed her eyes. Ignore... Ignore...

Again, another disrupting rining, but this time it sounded like, "A cat?" Bonnie said to herself. She peeked open her eyelids one last time, "I don't have any - WOAH!" Bonnie shouted as her eyelids blasted open as she spotted a misty form of a feline with a little boy's head, who calmly licked his paw. She grabbed her pillow behind her and clenched it to her chest like a spare teddy bear, "Who - What are you?" she stammered.

"Oh! Did I scare you? Sorry..." the cat-boy purred apologetically, "My master sent me here to see what you were doing. I will have to tell her that you were reading a... depressing book."

"Were you eavesdropping on me, Mr. Cat?" she asked curiously. This cat didn't look like an enemy, so her grip on the pillow loosened.

"Of course I was, but I only started a few days ago. My master has taken quite an interest on you."

"Who is your master, and what - er, who are you?"

"I'm just a little boy, but since my master was displeased about my human form, she merged my body with a body of a tom. I've gained inteligence and the comfort for my master after this transformation, yet I was upset over her desicion." The cat meowed sadly, but then his ears perked up from his mop of human hair, "My name is Alan, Bonnie."

"Oh, I'm very sorry about that, Alan. What's your master's name?"

"Ah, she knew you were going to ask that. She says that you'll have to find out for yourself." He hopped off the bed, "Well, I guess it's time for me to go."

Before the cat could phase through the window, Bonnie cried out, "Wait!" Alan turned and looked at her with moonlit eyes, "Um, can you tell me a bit about your master."

Alan gazed at Bonnie, collecting the right description to describe his master, "All I can say is that she used to be a nice person." Alan phased through the window, floating in mid-air, not falling. His facial features and body misted themselves into a single misty white orb, and right then it skyrocketed westward to its home. Bonnie watched in fascination at this process, even though seeing it multiple times.

"I seriously wonder who is master is. How in the world does she know me? Oh yeah! She could be that girl who had visited me not too long ago, the one with the scarlet-colored eyes," Bonnie remembered the night when that girl asked her for something that strangely she had. Could her knowing her have something to do with that, "Poor Alan, he doesn't seem like a bad cat...boy. Seeing him, I think his master hasn't been too abusive on him. Why was his master imprisoning him like this?" Bonnie locked this thought in her memory vault and fell right back asleep again.

Little did she know of a little something the henchcat left for her beside her bookcase.
