She opened her eyes to see a different world
She cried when she felt the metal replace her soft skin, leaving a sharp cold surface staring right back at her
She cried when all the bruises were covered with a metallic layer of poisoned control
It was consuming her flesh and bones
No way to stop it
No way to get back what it stole
She got up and ran out the door, her feet heavy and her head hanging low
She saw a world of metal faces and wires with empty looks on their glassy eyes
She ran to the man on the corner of the street and he too was made of rusty metal with a black empty hole in his chest and a bottle of gasoline in his hand that was the only thing keeping him alive.
