District Court
Defendant Lobby No. 1 ~ Sora Lin's POV
I arrived at the lobby, waiting for Ghastly and Niamh. I wanted to hear all about the epic trial they were involved with today.
I flopped down on the lobby sofa, mentally taking guesses at how long I would have to wait.
In short, the real answer was 'not very long'.
A flash of silver caught my eye; it came from outside. I stood up from my seat and slowly approached the window to get a better view at what had caught my attention.
The flash of silver... was a pair of scissors... attatched to a... a...
I couldn't stop the scream that escaped my lips as I scrambled away from the window. I tripped over my own feet in the desperate attempt.
The courtroom doors flew open and two bailiffs approached me. "What's wrong?!" one of them demanded.
All I could do was raise a shaking finger to point out of the window. One of the bailiffs ran back into the courtroom, announcing the event, with several panicked voices following.
I felt someone catch me as I fell backwards, dizzy with shock. "Sora...!!" they cried out.
"G... Ghastly...?" I whispered. I couldn't bring myself to do anything else. I struggled to keep my eyes open for much longer, so I allowed myself to slip away into unconciousness.

District Court
Defendant Lobby No. 1 ~ Niamh Tenniswood's POV
"What's going on?!" I yelled as I butst into the lobby, Chrysalis closely following behind me.
What we came across was Chief Prosecutor Bespoke holding a collapsed Prosecutor Lin in his arms.
"S-Sora!!" Chrysalis exclaimed, running up to the duo. "What happened, Ghastly?!"
"I'm not entirely sure..." Chief Prosecutor Bespoke replied. "All I know is that... there's been a third murder."
"What?!" I gasped. "A THIRD murder?!"
Chief Prosecutor Bespoke pointed out of the window. Glancing out of the window, my surprise turned into a frown. The corpse of a blonde haired woman had been left in the courthouse garden.
But what I was frowning at wasn't exactly the fact that another body had been found.
"Th-That body..." Chrysalis stammered. "It's just like the rest!"
"Indeed..." I agreed. "This one has also been crucified."
"There's another message at the scene, on the ground next to the fountain." Chief Prosecutor Bespoke told us. "Another 'BLOODBATH FEVER'."
"So... is it true, then?" Chrysalis wondered. "Is what Detective Anahita said true?"
"It just might be," Chief Prosecutor Bespoke replied. "Although no one can say for sure yet."
(So... a series of horrifying killings really has begun...)
"Uuuunnghh..." Prosecutor Lin slowly opened her eyes. "What's going on...?"
"Sora!" Chrysalis and Chief Prosecutor Bespoke exclaimed.
"Are you alright?" I asked. "You fell unconcious from the shock of seeing a body."
"A... A body...?" Prosecutor Lin repeated before gasping. "That's right! There's another body in the garden!"
Chrysalis and I left the courthouse building and headed for the garden. Up close, the crime scene looked just as gruesome as the last two: a woman crucified to the stone statue, her wrists pierced with scissors. Blood stained the water below her.
"So you two found this crime scene, have you?" a voice called out.
"Detective Anahita!" Chrysalis exclaimed upon seeing the white-haired detective. "It is okay for us to be here, isn't it?"
"Sure it is," the detective replied and ,grinning, added, "As long as you don't tamper with any evidence."
"Hang on..." I said, raising a hand slightly in alarm. "That can't be right."
"What can't be right?" Chrysalis asked.
"There's blood in the water, and yet practically no blood coming from the victim." I pointed out. "The blood from her wrists wouldn't be enough to stain the whole fountain like this."
"You're right! Maybe it's the culprit's blood?" Detective Anahita suggested. "I'll get some of the lab boys to check it out."
After watching a team of forensics collect a sample of the bloody water, my arm was grabbed and I was suddenly yanked backwards, making me stumble slightly.
"Ch-Chrysalis-!" I gasped. "What are you-"
"Look!" Chrysalis pointed to the ground in front of me. The bloody message 'BLOODBATH FEVER' was indeed there on the ground, as Chief Prosecutor Bespoke had said.
"What is the purpose of these messages...?" I wondered aloud. "It truly perplexes me..."
"Sorry to disrupt your investigation," Detective Anahita said. "But we got some details on the victim."
(Knowing her basic details could help us find out why she was killed...)
"Her name was Lappie Elltone." Detective Anahita explained. "What's interesting is her cause of death: you don't see many drownings nowadays."
"Ms. Elltone was drowned?" Chrysalis repeated.
"There aren't any weapons nearby, so maybe the nearby water was the only choice the culprit had."
"Detective Anahita..." I interrupted. "What you said earlier today about a serial killing... Is this it? Is it going to happen?"
Detective Anahita hesitated, considering her words carefully. "I don't know," she eventually responded. "It's... difficult to say at this point."
Chrysalis and I exchanged a worried glance. It was confirmed; a serial killing had taken place, and the serial killer was possibly still nearby.
How would Mr. Morix react to hearing that Chrysalis had been on the premesis of a double murder? How would Prosecutor Wood react to handling this case, knowing what we knew?
Speaking of which...
Where was Prosecutor Wood?
