"Honey, wake up.. We're landing." My mom said sweetly as she rubbed my arm.
My eyes fluttered open to see the bright California sunshine.
"Have they landed yet?" I asked, whilst stretching.
"Yeah. Their flight landed a few hours ago, they had time to go start unpacking. David said that they'll meet us at the airport though." She said, smiling out the window.
"Are you ready for this, baby? Ready to start our new life? Are you sure this is the right thing to do, Bella?" My moms voice shaky.
"Mom, relax, you and David have been dating for almost 3 years, you're so happy with him in your life, it's definitely the right thing to do." I gave her a reassuring smile as I grabbed her hand.
"We should have at least waited for you to finish senior year, I'm so sorry you have to switch schools Bella. You're sure you don't mind this? It's not to late to back out." She sounded so nervous.
"Mom, I'm happy we're doing this. You and I could both use a fresh start. We're only like two weeks into the school year, and I hated that school anyways. A few of my friends agreed to fly out for fall break, so I'll get to see them. I guarantee you this is the right thing for us, mom." She squeezed my hand and we exchanged smiles as we walked off the plane.
"I wonder where they are." Mom said, scanning the crowd when we got to baggage claim.
"Here, let me call jack." I said, whipping out my phone and dialing his number.
— phone conversation:
Jack: ayy! We're here! Where are you guys?
Bella: baggage claim, mom and I are looking for you guys.
Jack: are you wearing a grey hoodie? I think I see you!

I pulled my phone down from my face and said "jack see's us..." Scanning my surroundings.
"Hey, there they are!" Mom said as she ran to hug David. I gave David a hug also and then hugged jack.
"We missed you guys!" Mom said as David agreed.
"What do your bags look like?" Jack asked as we all turned back to the baggage claim.
"Um, I think that big purple one" I said "mine is grey" mom followed.
After a few minutes of getting our bags and getting back out into the car, we were finally on the way to our new house.
I pulled up snapchat on my phone and blew up my story. I put so many pictures of the landscape because it was so beautiful. And then I took a selfie with jack and the caption was "Otw to the new house".
Me, my mom, David, and jack all talked on the drive to our house. It feels weird calling it our home, I'll get there though. We live in a little town, corona, about an hour away from LA.
We got to the house and jack helped me carry my bag and David helped my mom. Jack showed me which room was mine and offered to help me unpack.
"Jack, our furniture isn't here yet, where am I supposed to unpack this stuff?" I asked, laughing.
"Touché.." He said, mischievously.
"Got any plans tonight?" Jack asked, sitting on my bed.
"Well, considering I know zero people here, no." I threw a little attitude.
"Welllll–" he said, dragging out the word. "–my friend Cameron lives in LA, and he's kind of having s party tonight, you're more than welcome to come with me. You can meet some new people, make some new friends..." He trailed off.
"Hmmm.. I don't know jack, I'm tired and I'm not even sure if I have any proper outfits for a party.." I hesitated.
"C'mon Bella, it'll be fun. I won't leave your side and I'll introduce you to all my friends, and you can hang with us." He said, giving me a "come on" look.
"Okay, fine. Why the hell not? I could use some fun." I said, shrugging my shoulders.
"Thats more like it, baby sister." he smiled and walked out of my room.
I sat there on my bed, playing on my phone for about 30 minutes and then jack popped back in my room.
"Hey, by the way, we're staying up at Cameron's tonight, neither of us are going to be able to drive back home." He said with a smirk. I laughed at his stupidness.
"okay, when are we leaving?" I needed time to get ready.
"Soon, maybe an hour. What time is it, 5:45? Yeah we probably need to leave by 7 so about an hour."
I hopped off my bed and opened my suitcase, grabbing my makeup first. 'Tonight's gonna be a good night' 'this place is new. This is my fresh start' I tried to tell myself.
