Everly is in complete shock as she witnesses what she arrives to.
Her street where she lived with her mother was closed. Police tape surrounded and outlined the side walks and the ends of the streets. Ambulances and police cars swarmed the whole area. Everly, still confused.
"What's going on? Where's mommy?"
Laura doesn't respond.
"Please stay in the car, don't get out for any reason."
Everly stays still, but her mind was racing and filled with so many questions.
As grandma Laura dissapears in the police sirens, horrified neighbors and wailing ambulance commotion, Everly just leans against the door, about to make a run for her house.
When she thought timing was right, she dashed out of the car.
Running down the closed street, she runs to her house.
She haults in her tracks. She didn't move a single inch after seeing what was in front of her.
"Mommy..?"
The house was almost torn apart. Covered in black debree, melted walls and roof, this was a nightmare for Everly at such a young age.
She cries, "MOMMY! WHERE ARE YOU?! MOMMY!"
Grandma Laura hears her from a distance, runs to her and hugs her and says "I told you to stay in the car Everly! You were not supposed to be here to see this!"
Everly crying, still calling for her mother. Crying as well as she kept looking back at what used to be her home.
