"But I don't want to cry anymore!" their yells filled the awkward empty void and salty tears mixed with her red lips.
She was done the crying. She was done crying for what was and what wasn't, what happened and what hadn't happened. She was done crying for herself and finally she was done crying for him.
When he was gone she wanted him back, and when she had him she wanted nothing of him.
Because her lips missed him but her heart didn't.
It was like he reached in her chest, played her heart in his fingers, tainting it and marking it, and then left like he'd only just glanced at her while walking briskly past.
But it wasn't just a glance or a few strides past, it was a year. A year of her time, and of heartbreak and fearless love, but for him just a whole year of his silly little game.
It was then that she realized, she had already been done with him when he left.
