The Space Filler
People who need people,
will always turn to me,
to fill their empty spaces,
that only I can see.
Each time they have a minute spare,
I open my door, I know they're there,
to wallow in their gloomy haze,
to incessantly talk as my eyes glaze.
Relentless whining, the words don't cease,
my body aches for a minutes peace,
I attract the masses, when they are feeling blue,
I wish they could see, that I'm a person too,
I'm a magnet for the self absorbed,
I'm a time filler, for the eternally bored,
I want to scream, i want to shout,
'This is my home will you please get out!'
Because any person will suffice,
to pass the time, to while away,
those tedious minutes,
of each passing day.
Hence how insulting it can be,
when they try to fill,
their void,
with me.
