I gave Taemin a hug and said, "You and I both know that that is out of the question."
Teamin laughed and started working on another project. "Speaking of which, has anything happened between you two?"
I blushed immediately and Taemin knew something was up. I told him about last night and didn't spare any detail. "You wanna make sure he really likes you??" Taemin asked.
"Sure! Wait, how do I do that?" I said in confusion.
"When he gets here, start giggling really loudly at whatever I say. He knows when I'm trying to flirt with a girl so I'll flash you my most charming smile. He will get super mad if he actually likes you." Taemin explained.
"But won't Princess Catherine and Prince Sehun see?" I asked.
"Nope. Because I guarantee you that he will come back at least 5 minutes before them because they like to ride their horses slowly together. I noticed that last year when we were together." Taemin said looking off into the distance.
Taemin and I talked for at least another hour when he heard Kai coming. We both got into position and as Kai came up I started laughing.
Kai approached and when he saw us his eyes widened. He furrowed his eyebrows in anger and started to turn around. "Hey Kai! Back so soon?" Taemin asked.
Kai sighed deeply and said, "Yeah. I'm back. I can't stand going so slow like them."
"I can't even ride horses so I'd probably have to go slow." I said giggling at how adorably mad he had gotten.
"I'd ride with you!" Taemin said quickly.
"Hey Melody, why don't you hop on my horse and I'll take you for a ride?" Kai asked.
I looked down at the ground torn between what to do. "I should stay here to be with Princess Catherine." I said shyly.
Kai got off his horse and gave me a smile. "They said if I needed you I could take you." He said. He grabbed my hand and said, "I need you to come with me."
"Why don't you just kiss her in front of me too while you're at it?" Taemin said with a laugh.
Kai looked over at him and blurted out, "How did you know?"
Taemin and I laughed as Taemin told him about our little trick to see if he would be angry and I told Kai about how Taemin and I were really great friends and how Taemin had helped me.
Kai smiled, blushed, and said, "If you wanted to know if I liked you, you should have just asked."
"Well we got to the point later on that night." I said with a wink. "Are you sure it would be ok if I went?" I asked the both of them.
They both nodded and Taemin said, "When they ask, I'll say that Kai needed you and you'll be back soon."
I nodded and smiled. Taemin got me a step stool to help me get on the horse and Kai stayed with me helping me up the whole way. I placed my foot in one of the stirrups and slipped. I knew for sure I was going to fall on the ground but I was caught in the air by a pair of strong muscular arms. I looked into Kai's eyes and saw him smile at me. I smiled back and he leaned down to kiss me. "EWWW." Taemin yelled and we both laughed. The second time getting on was much easier and then Kai got on in front of me.
"Hold on!" Kai yelled and we went on our adventure. Kai went slow at first but eventually started going faster, trying to show off. I kept my arms wrapped tightly around him and held on tighter when we went fast. We came to another clearing and slowed downs bit. We just walked along the path looking at all the forestry and flowers. Kai stopped when we reached a meadow. He got off and then helped me down. He took my hand and we started walking.
"This place is breathtaking." I said while I stopped to smell a flower.
Kai pulled me to him and wrapped his arms around me. "You're breathtaking." He said as he started kissing me. He paused to breathe after each kiss just for effect.
"I'm not breathtaking at all." I said in between kisses.
"Wanna bet?" He smirked as he pulled me closer.
I bit my lip and nodded. He crashed his lips into mine and placed one hand behind my neck. He pulled away after a few seconds and said, "Yes definitely breathtaking." His quick ending to our kiss left me wanting more, but he grabbed my hand and we walked some more.
When we eventually made a giant circle and came back to his horse we stopped. "Hey Melody?" He asked.
"Yes?" I responded.
"If life were different, like if I weren't royal, and you and I were friends, would you give me a shot?" He asked biting his lip.
"Yes of course. You're still my-." I almost said 'my Kai' but I continued, "You're still Kai. I fell for you not your title," I said smiling at him.
He smiled back and then said, "Wait. Did you say 'my'? 'My' what?"
I blushed deeply and looked down. "I was going to say that you're still my Kai." I muttered to the ground.
I looked back up Kai had moved so that he was facing me. He smiled and brought a hand up to my cheek where he started caressing it with his thumb. "No matter what happens I'm always going to be your Kai." He whispered softly. I blushed again and tried to look down but he kept my head up with his hand. "You're honestly too beautiful to be looking down. The ground doesn't need to see your eyes." He paused for a moment and said, "I do."
I sighed and looked up into his beautiful brown eyes, wishing that things could always be like this. He may always be my Kai but he may be someone else's prince. "Kai.." I said softly.
"Yes?" He whispered as his lips brushed over mine lightly.
"What if you're my Kai, but someone else's Prince Jongin? I can't share you. I just can't." I as tears suddenly filled my eyes.
"Melody. You don't get it do you?" He took me up in his arms and we sat down on a nearby stump. He placed me on his lap and continued, "I'm yours. Kai or Jongin. No matter what I'm called, I'm yours. You're not sharing. Every part of me, I'm laying into your hands because every part of me," he stopped for a moment like he was in the middle of a decision. He took a deep breath and said, "Every part of me is falling in love with you."
