This is all my fault he opened the door with shaking hand, in the living room sat his step dad Gabe "Where were you punk" he growled getting up. Percy took a step back as he realizing that the man was drunk "I asked you a question!" He raised his hand and slapped him right across the face
"Out..." Percy grit his teeth holding back the urge to punch the guy in the face
"Out? That's it? Why are you covered in dirt? Got into a fight huh? Always knew you were a troubled kid" Gabe started beat him up more and more, kicking him, punching him, scratching him, throwing him insults. "Worthless! Idiot! Ugly! Jerk" Percy didn't react, just thinking the same thing he always thinks please let it be over soon...

Blinking his eyes open, he found himself sprawled on the floor in his room, his whole body aches. Percy got up wearily, Gabes words swimming in his head. He dug through his first aid box, wincing as he wrapped his injuries in bandage.
His eyes stared into the distance, he was in his own world. If his phone didn't ring he could've stayed there forever. Percy picked up his phone gingerly without even looking at who's calling. "Hi!" He chirped trying to sound happy and cheerful.
"Hey? Percy? It's me Annabeth! Just wanted to say thanks again"
Percy felt himself blush "Oh! It's nothing really"
"I need to tell you something, can I come in?"
"Wait come in?! Um wait a moment" he muttered pushing the first aid kit under his bed and pulled on his shirt before running downstairs. Gabe has gone out so he wasn't really worried, Percy push opened the door "Hey wise girl" he grinned
"Hi Seaweed brain" she shot a small smile walking into the house
"Um... What's up!" He asked closing the door behind him
"Can we talk in your room?" She asked turning to him grey eyes glimmering in the dark hall way, Percy blushed. Which he rarely did and sighed
"O-Okay" he stuttered
Annabeth whooped running to his room and sitting on his bed "So what do you want" He asked sitting next to her
"Oh um-" she was cut of as she eyed his shirt "Percy... Why's there blood on your shirt" she asked suspiciously, Percy's heart pounded as he looked down at his shirt seeing blood
"Damn..."
