I sat in my room alone on tumblr like every other day. It was summer and believe it or not, it was indeed possible to get sick of watching shameless and going on Instagram all day.
My phone pinged to show a text for my best friend Taylor.

Taylor🍉: ALICE I SWEAR TO HOD
Taylor🍉: I MEANT GOD IDK WHO TF HOD IS
Alice: damn calm down, what is it?
Taylor🍉: alright alright you have to download this app called vine it's fricking amazing.
Alice: I've heard of that.
Taylor🍉: DOWNLOAD IT SLUT
Alice: dang girl fine
I typed it up in the AppStore and waited. And waited. My AppStore never worked and it sucked. And waited. AHA! Up popped the green square with a white curly V in the middle of it.
After it had finally downloaded I opened the app. It took me a minute to figure it all out but in the end I was on the popular page. The first thing on the screen was a video of a very attractive guy singing and playing his guitar. Wow he was really amazing.
I glanced at the profile name. Shawn Mendes. I followed him a typed in a comment; idk who you are but goddamn you're good.
I spent a another hour on vine before going downstairs for dinner.
"So honey how's life lately?" My
Mother asked me.
"It's good?" I answered with more of a question.
"Well I mean we wouldn't know, you're in your room all day and all night unless there's food" my fathered replied.
"It's nothing personal, I just like it better in a warm comfortable duvet with Netflix than out in public"
"Alice honey, you're almost 17 years old, you need to get a boyfriend, a job, something!" Dad all but pleaded.
I looked at them in what I hoped was a convincing stare, "I have friends"
"But they stay in their room as much as you do Alice, you guys need to get out more."
"Fine" I replied, " I'll go out This Friday"
My parents eyes visibly brightened and they both shouted out "YAY" before they stood up to take their plates to the sink.
I sighed. Public was stupid and so were people. Hey it might be fun, I told myself. But I didn't know what I was in for when I went to that club the next day.
